I would love to see the #1 overall invited for a chat every year. Can't wait to see your files
I say that as you have always seemed to be the person least likely to share your info...

[/QUOTE]I don't think I've been shy and certainly not on PM's with people and particularly if they're not in a future league of mine. That I wouldn't want my satellite league results published before the main event I don't think is unique to me.

I've been gone for the weekend and read this thread with a lot of amusement this morning.
Shawn Childs is what he is, a fast thinking, analytical, great fantasy baseball player. To think that there'll be clones of him is absurd. Even with his lists in front of them on draft day I dare say that most would not draft the right players at the right moment of the draft.
One minute is a very short time to address the need for say a safe 20 home runs to shore up that department or draft that SLEEPER 2nd baseman that in their mind will have a breakout year. Shawn will usually make the right call. It's what seperates him.
Right now I am trying to work through a flaw that Shawn has no problem with. Two years ago Shawn took Oliver Perez rather high in his draft. He had a horrible year. Yet, Shawn drafted him again, albeit a lot lower in 2007. I haven't been able to forgive as readily as Shawn. I drafted Scott Olsen in the teens last year and each time he pitched, he may as well have looked in the camera before the game and said, "Watch how I screw you this time, Dan". As a result I have relegated Olsen on my lists to Zach Duke and Jeff Weaver territory. Wrong? Yes. But it feels so right.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

I agree with Dan - having the list and knowing how to use them are two totally different things.
Aside from guys we like a little better than the next guy - or as Dan suggests guys who have torched us in a prior effort, most lists are fairly similar. I guarantee that most of us have the same top tiers at any position, BUT...each draft has a life of it's own and many drafters aren't prepared for what happens at a draft table - they just can't make the adjustments on the fly. Shawn has proven that he can.

dear dan- as an olsen owner- we can only wish he looked in that camera and said our names. with such a long list, maybe they would have started without him.

This will be my second year in the NFBC main, and I am doing a lot of things differently this year... I think the main reason for Shawn's success is obvious IMO. When he says he starts preparing for fantasy baseball in October (as soon as the regular season has ended), you know he will come to the draft(s) prepared. The unexpected will always happen during the draft and during the season, but as the saying goes luck favors the prepared mind.
