you would cut him if you had him, wouldn't you?
For a huge need, yes. How much do you bid on Max?

On Max with Eddie G in your league? LOL.

I always love this part of the season. There are always draft day busts and deciding when to let go is tough.

And there are always guys that bounce back and it's hard to pull the trigger on them. Like Piniero last Sunday in FA. I just could not do it. This week, in will be Ponson. I just watched him pitch a great game. Total command.

Ponson will be a nice auction league pickup.Im pretty good with pitching but need another infielder. How about that Greinke , 9 strike outs and no walks. His era is under 1.50 unreal.I remember leaving the auction and paying 15 for Greinke i thought that was too much. But he was the guy i was waiting on and nothing was left. But i guess im not winning the auction this year so it doesnt matter.

Shawn has spoken. he he he he.

BYE BYE this week. No more taking up a valuable roster spot anymore. He'll be lucky if he is back by the all-star break. I'll do a write-up about me dropping him this coming Sunday in a few days.

 You...just...couldn't...pull...the ...trigger on dumping him, could you?

It is painful to drop an 8th round pick. I understand.

Liriano was dropped in only two leagues this week.Looks like people want to see a couple more triple aaa starts.I have him in two leagues and just cant do it YET. Tulo was waived in one league but he is being held out of the league, so he cant be bid on. I know its a tough job but he's been brutal.

He will be one of the biggest busts of the year, considering he was going as early as the 2nd round.

Still nothing to right home about. K rate needs to be at least 9 per 9 innings. Walk rate sub 4 per 9 if he wants any chance of being meaningful this year.

again, would you keep him or drop him after his latest outing?

There's a rumor that aram has a fracture, so maybe the cubbies lineup won't be as tough.

Liriano's start at AAA tonight v. Buffalo

6 innings, 5 hits, 2 runs, 2 BB, 5 K.

I read that he gave up the runs in the 5th. One of the runs scored when he threw a sac bunt into right field, the other was on a seeing eye grounder up the middle. Supposedly the Announcers called him dominant with not many hard hits against.

Back to liriano, your thoughts on keeping or dropping him? Based on potential, dropping him is absolutely ludicrous. He seems to be pitching with more velocity and control the more starts he gets in the minors. It's clearly more mental than physical with Liriano right now which I think is positive.

In his last start he struck out 8 in 8 innings with 88 pitches.

I couldn't ever imagine someone dropping him and picking up Brett Tomko or Ubaldo Jiminez.

Why is it even a question to drop him? He's far too good with far too much potential to be a difference to even consider to drop him......even with already strong pitching.

But would you drop him for Bartolo Colon or Jason Bergmann two pitchers i was trying to get this weekend. I have Liriano in two leagues and im waiting him out, that last outing with the 8 k's sounds very positive.

4 K's.

Still, it's clear he's getting better.

Hopefully by mid to late June he'll be back.

Are you so dominant in pitching that you feel Liriano can't help you in the 2nd half? What's your 7th best starting pitcher look like?

Bergmann got "torched" in his first 2 starts this year before getting sent down. He pitched well in the minors this year in limited innings, but does his previous history suggest he can be a useable pitcher the rest of the year? I'm not so sure.

Colon is interesting I have to admit. I just can't imagine your bench being so incredible that there isn't extra room for Liriano.

Just my take.

Maybe Gekko drops him and after he comes back and pitches well this year he can say his computer dropped him without warning. Sounds like he's got Joshua from War Games as his computer. Has a mind of it's own. :D

May 20th start - 7 innings - 8 hits allowed - 2 earned runs - 1 walk - 3 K's.

Obviously not dominant stats, certainly not overpowering.

But with 4 walks in his last 21 innings shows he's getting his control back.

Haven't heard how hard he's throwing or if he's shying away from using that slider.

On a side note: Scherzer went for up to $900 in FAAB (looks like he's bullpen bound) while Liriano has been dropped by a couple teams with many contemplating the move.

That's madness folks.

Crazy im not cutting Liriano just messin .He needs more time and their is plenty left this season, i would like to see the k's go up.Bergmann looked good again going 7 shut out innings againest a good hitting Philles team. That 14 k's in his last two starts with 0 runs and im happy to add him to my main event.Colon is on the right team for win's and he's hitting 93 miles an hour on his fast ball.I think he also was a nice pickup this week.

Per Rotoworld:

Francisco Liriano fanned seven while allowing one run in six innings Tuesday for Triple-A Rochester.

Another fine effort. It marked the fifth time in six starts that he walked just one batter. He's 2-1 with a 3.35 ERA, 42 H and 41/15 K/BB in 51 innings since being sent down. In his last three outings, he's struck out 21 in 18 1/3 innings.

Perhaps a return to the bigs is coming soon....
