Greg... end the argument once an for all.

Please take the Overall Top 10 or 20 and list where each owner has picked each year they have played. TIA.

It's not like two years ago when you could start with Sizemore and Rollins, or Howard and Rollins. Some folks were targeting 14-15 two years ago because the depth of talent was so noticeable that year.

This reminds me of a story from two years ago. We had an older gentleman who joined for the first time with a very good friend. He was so excited to be coming out to Las Vegas and joining the NFBC for the first time. He called several times before Draft Day to make sure he had the time right, the location right, everything right. Then he got the 15th pick, his last KDS choice. He called to ask how that happened and resolved to the fact that fate wasn't on his side.

When I saw him for the first time he was so excited to be drafting in Las Vegas, but reminded me that 15 was his last preference. I wished him good luck and he and his partner had fun at the draft. When I talked to him during the season, he told me his team was doing well "despite drafting from the 15th spot." He kept telling me that and I kept telling him "good luck."

Of course, he won his league title and $5,000 from the 15th spot, joined more events the next year and will never spend a March without being in the NFBC again. He proved that you could win from anywhere, even when you'd prefer to draft closer to the top of the draft. I have a feeling the same thing will happen this year to many other owners in the NFBC. ;)

13, 14 and 15 will produce winners this year; they just need to plan appropriately for those first two picks and then set the tone at the 3-4 turn and every turn after that. I'm not worried, I trust those owners know what they're doing.

Indeed, the past history of the NFBC has shown that you can win from any spot and that getting a high draft pick doesn't ensure anything. In fact, you can win as easily from 15 as 1 and from anywhere inbetween.

We changed to 3RR in football because almost 70 percent of league champs came from the top three draft spots. When you see that kind of discrepency you can either sit back and say it was a one or two or three year unique happening or you can fix the system. We chose to add 3RR, which along with KDS, makes the NFFC as fair a competition as there is in the fantasy football industry.

Again, if we ever have a trend like that in baseball, we'll look at changing the setup. Right now there's no historical data that suggests a change is needed...outside of folks not being happy with 13, 14 or 15 this year. ;) But again, I think they can and will win from there this year just like they have every year since 2004.

What would this accomplish other than less bitching this week?

It wouldn't change the results at the end of the year. Greg has proven that over and over in baseball.

I honestly don't understand the brouhaha here. Two years ago, I had #15, and came in 7th overall. Last year, I was sick as a dog, studied for only a short time after deciding I could make it, had the 15-spot again, got Pujols and Sizemore, and ended up around 55th overall after a miserable start...thank you very much Figgins and Jeter

No one knows what will happen...

Howard could hit 55 and bat .290. No one knows.

Rollins could suck a little like last year.

Reyes might only steal 35...who knows.

Hanley added 20 pounds of muscle...and might get CS 20 times - who knows.

Pujols elbow might really go out on him this time.

Beltran might love the new park, and go 40-30.

Santana could be the steal of the draft.

Holliday might have the last laugh against naysayers.

Utley might be better than ever.

Sizemore might continue his BA regression.

Kinsler might get hurt early on.

Braun might be so interested in designing T-shirts, he loses interest.

No one knows. Anyone who works hard at this can win, from any position.

Where do winners come from? Winning is directly proportional to how much time you spend preparing for your spot and inversely proportional to how much time you spend complaining about it.
Chance favors the prepared mind.

I agree you can win from anywhere but kds showed big time people wanted a top 4 pick. Not many out of390 wanted pick's 13,14 ,or 15 including myself.

Early in the 3rd round where the top pick's are up again their is a big difference from the talent at the end of the 3rd round.

Rios Markakis Roberts Rameriz[all three]

End of the 3rd do you take Hamels or Webb maybe a top catcher , Vlad ,Youk,or Furcal.

This is why i would want a top 7 pick last year it seemed like the talent went into the 4th round.Last year i wanted pick 11 and 12 last year and Deterra wanted pick 15 every year is different and this year kds show's the early pick's are what the people wanted.
