Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
Wayne Barber of Palm Springs, California was our final NFBC Auction League signup of 2004 as he drove into Las Vegas the day of our auction last year and competed in the NL Auction League, leading for the first few months of the season before falling out of the money. But Wayne is coming back for more in 2005 as he just signed up for the NL Auction League ($650, but would do a $1,250 if we get a second league going) on Friday morning, March 18th. Wayne is also VERY interested in competing in the $5K NFBC Ultimate Auction League as he now becomes the 10th person to sign up for that. Looks like we could get one Ultimate Auction League and Draft League going this year, which would be great. Anyway, thanks for trusting in us again, Wayne, and best of luck in the hunt for the $3,750 first place prize.

Let's welcome another top finisher from Chicago League 1 as Karl Mische of Rogers, Minnesota has just signed up to return to the NFBC in 2005. Karl led his Bambino's team to a second place finish in Chicago League 1 last year, finishing behind Razor Shines Last Fan, and ninth in the overall standings. Karl will be drafting at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th and will try to take that next step up in the league standings and in the overall standings. Thanks once again for trusting in us, Karl, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
Karl has also signed up for the Mixed Auction League and will even do the NL Auction League ($650 entry fee) if enough people come to the Windy City to do one of those auction leagues. We could even hook up a partial auction league from Chicago with one of the other cities if we had to, so let me know if you're interested and hopefully we can get an auction going in Chicago on Friday, March 18th. Thanks Karl and I'll do my best to get at least one auction league going in Chicago.

Let's welcome yet another new member to the growing NFBC family, and on Christmas Eve no less!!! Herbert Eroh II of Randolph, New Jersey just signed up for the NFBC's main event and he will be competing at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Herbert obviously is mixing a little baseball pleasure in with March Madness pleasure, which makes sense! Welcome aboard Herbert and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Oh, and the first beer is on me as we welcome you to the gang.

We've got yet another new member joining the growing NFBC family as Michael McSunas of Tarpon Springs, Florida has just signed up for the NFBC's Mixed Auction League ($650 entry fee) at the Rio Hotel & Casino on Friday, March 18th. Michael heard about the NFBC through a friend who played last year and is heading out to Las Vegas for March Madness and wanted to get involved in our Mixed Auction League. We now have 13 signups for that and should fill up our first league soon. We'll try for two Mixed Auction Leagues out there if the demand warrants it as Friday night will be mighty busy with the AL and Mixed Auction Leagues going on at the same time. Thanks for trusting in us, Michael, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize.

The new signups keep coming in today as our latest signup had so much fun in our National Fantasy Football Championship that he's ready to try our baseball event. Jason Aberli of Louisville, Kentucky competed in the NFFC as a co-manager with Charlie Gillespie and the two lost their first round Auction League playoff game by .05 points, which is the equivalent of one reception or one yard! Bummer. Now Jason is ready to try his hand at the NFBC's main event as he will be drafting at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th. Welcome to the baseball event, Jason, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Oh, and tell Charlie to get his butt registered for baseball now, too!

We're glad to welcome back our 77th team from 2004 to the NFBC's main event in 2005 as another industry professional has entered the NFBC. Heath Shaffer of Issaquah, Washington and RotoChamps.com will be returning to the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th with co-manager Andrew Orozco. Heath and Andrew competed in Las Vegas League 3 last year and injuries doomed their "Pedro and Man" team to a 12th place finish. Heath has been a big supporter of the NFBC and the NFFC and he's a promotional partner of ours. Welcome back to the NFBC guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. I'll see you in Las Vegas and the first beer is on me!

C.C.'s Desperados has won league titles in the NFBC and the NFFC, and thankfully he's been recruiting new members to our events. Shawn's latest recruit is Michael Zukowski of Centerville, Massachusetts, who is a die-hard fantasy baseball player that is coming to Las Vegas and diving into the main event and the auction league. Michael becomes our 60th team to sign up for the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, giving us four full leagues for Saturday, March 19th. Welcome aboard Michael and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
Michael has also signed up for the AL Auction League ($1,250 entry fee) for Friday afternoon, March 18th. We now have 14 registrants for that high-stakes auction league and will continue to take signups with the hope of filling two full leagues out in Las Vegas. We certainly have plenty of time to accomplish that, so keep the signups coming for that. Thanks again Michael and best of luck in the hunt for the $7,000 league prize in that one.

Let's welcome another new member to the growing NFBC family as the tage team of Daniel Brudnok of Downingtown, Pennsylvania and co-manager Richard Orr has just joined the NFBC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th. Daniel and Richard are first time participants of our high-stakes events and we welcome them with open arms. Best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize, and remember that the first drink (if you need one, well, even if you don't need one!) is on us!

Let's welcome our 78th returning team from 2004 to 2005's NFBC main event as the tag team of Jeff Dobies of Richmond Hill, New York and Jonathan Friedman return to the fold. Jeff and Jonathan competed in the very tough New York League 4 last year and finished 12th as their PW Express team battled injuries throughout the year. Jeff also competed in the AL Auction League last year and I have a feeling he will be back for that as well in 2005, and he was a competitor in our high-stakes football event in 2004, too. Thanks once again for trusting in us guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Wow it's been a great day of signups for the NFBC as I have a few more to announce after this one. But let's give it up for Daniel Fallon of Yorba Linda, California (original home of The Upper Deck Company), who just signed up for the NFBC's main event at the Rio in Las Vegas. Daniel, who said he was searching the Internet for the largest fantasy baseball payout and found us, will be teaming up with Rick Roberts in Las Vegas. Dan and Rick are new to our family of high stakes games, but we welcome them with open arms. Best of luck guys in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize and thanks for trusting in us. We'll have a cold one together in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th, that's a promise.

Kenneth Gray of Marysville, Washington is our latest new member to the growing NFBC family and he's not afraid to jump in with both feet. Kenneth becomes our 100th signup for the NFBC's main event, quite a feat for December 28th! We have 200 spots left for the main event and I expect all of them to go before mid-March. Kenneth will be drafting at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th and we wish him best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Thanks for trusting in us, Kenneth, and the first beer is on us.
Kenneth also signed up for the golf event on Friday morning and became our 15th owner in the Mixed Auction League ($650 entry fee) in Las Vegas, which is set for Friday at 4 p.m. at the Rio. We now have one spot left in the Mixed Auction League, although we'll keep taking signups with the prospect of forming another Mixed Auction League. Thanks for joining that event as well, Kenneth, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize.

Let's conclude an incredible day for the NFBC by announcing yet another new member to the growing NFBC family. The Orlando, Florida tag team of Evan and Dan Satinoff will be joining us for the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th, their first time in one of our high stakes events. We welcome you guys with open arms and wish you good luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. We are now working on our fifth NFBC league in Las Vegas, which is incredible when you consider we finished with six full leagues there last year. We're glad to have both of you back and wish you best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?
We're honored to welcome back the rock star Meat Loaf to the NFBC as he has just signed up for the NFBC's main event in Las Vegas. Meat competed in Las Vegas League 1 last year and part of the blame for his 14th place finish can fall on the injuries of Preston Wilson and Jose Reyes, along with a slew of other nicks. He unfortunately also had both players in the NL Auction League where his Bats Out of Hell team finished near the bottom as well. But Meat came back to our National Fantasy Football Championship in September and was leading Las Vegas League 1 for most of the year before falling one game back of the leaders. Now he's returning to the Rio Hotel & Casino on Friday, March 18th to team up with Bruce Barnard in the NL Auction League ($1,250 entry fee) and on Saturday, March 19th for the NFBC's main event. We welcome you back with open arms, Meat, and wish you best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. See you in Las Vegas.

Jim Ruland has teamed up with his brother, Emmett, for some good success so far in our high-stakes events and he's returning to Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th to defend his title in the NFBC's main event. Jim and Emmett's "What's the Rumpus?" team won Chicago League 3 last year and the brothers are taking separate teams this year. They also teamed up in our high-stakes football event to finish second in Las Vegas League 1 and were in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize the last three weeks. Welcome back, Jim, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We have another returning champion who is coming back to the NFBC as Leonard Ringle of New York City will be drafting in the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th. Leonard led his Team qqq to the New York League 2 title, which was one of the most closely contested league titles in the competition. Team qqq finished with 112 points, just 1.5 points ahead of two other teams that tied for second place!!! Amazing. Leonard becomes the 83rd team from 2004 to return to our main event in 2005 as we are now working on our eighth league in the main event after finishing with 13 last year. I wouldn't be surprised if we fill all 300 spots before our March 13th deadline. Anyway, thanks for trusting in us again, Leonard, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Joshua becomes our 84th returning team from the 2004 event and we welcome him back with open arms. His East Coast Schwag team finished in fourth place in New York League 5, just missing out on a money finish. Now that my beloved Packers have won another game and another NFC North title, it's time to get back to work and announce some more baseball signups. We had three more signups in the last day as the New Year is starting out right for the NFBC.
The first official signup of 2005 came on New Year's Day as Larry Wormington of Melissa, Texas signed up for the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Larry is new to our high-stakes contests and we welcome him into the NFBC family with open arms. Thanks for trusting in us, Larry, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. I'll see you in Las Vegas and will buy the first beer....and maybe more!

Let's give it up for another new member of the growing NFBC family as Todd Mossinger of Gardina, California just signed up for the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Todd is a serious fantasy baseball player who has played SportsBuff in the past and more recently has been a serious player with the FantasyJungle.com. Todd said that Scott Gunaca said good things about us, which is always helpful, and likes what he sees on the Message Boards. We welcome you to the growing NFBC family, Todd, and wish you best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Brett Washburn of Roswell, Georgia finished second in Las Vegas League 1 last year as his Who Dat Is? team also finished 31st overall. Brett is coming back to the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th as he becomes the 85th returning team from 2004 to sign up for this year. Brett won $1,750 for finishing second last year, but he has his sights set higher this year. Thanks again for trusting in us, Brett, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Let's give it up for another new member to the growing NFBC family as Dave Clum of Pembrooke Pines, Florida has just signed up for the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Dave is a long time reader of Fantasy Sports Magazine who followed the NFBC from afar last year, but with one good year under our belt he's ready to jump in and compete for the grand prize. Dave becomes our 70th signup for Las Vegas as we are closing in on our fifth full NFBC league there. Thanks for trusting in us, Dave, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We are guaranteed one full Mixed Auction League in Las Vegas as Thomas McSunas of Palm Harbor, Florida has just become our 15th official signup for that debut event at the Rio Hotel & Casino on Friday afternoon, March 18th. Thomas is new to our family of high-stakes contests, but we welcome him with open arms. Thanks for trusting in us, Thomas, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize. We'll continue to take signups for that league and will try for at least one more Mixed Auction League in Las Vegas and will mix the participants if we get two or more leagues going out there. Thanks everyone.

We will start that Auction League at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 18th at the New York Hilton. Let's get 14 more owners signed up for that and make it a reality. Thanks Adam for taking the plunge and welcome to the growing NFBC family as I know this is your first venture with our high-stakes contests.
