Greg, we want to start this if possible about the time Pitchers and Catchers report in the middle of February. This will allow us to get done before the Main Event weekends and of course KJ's Keeper League Draft which a bunch of us guys in the $1000 Slow Draft participate in! Re: Signup List For First $1,000, $375 and $150 NFBC Slow Dr
Thanks a lot Greg. Starting this right when Pitchers and Catchers started to report was one of our best selling points last year when we were trying to get this $1000 Slow Draft off the ground. The Hype for Fantasy Baseball is really rolling at that point and these slow drafts really allow guys to crunch as they prepare for their live drafts.Greg Ambrosius wrote:We'll be ready for the $1,000 Slow Draft whenever you guys are. Now if we could just knock 'Mike the Mouth' off his perch as Champ of this league we will be all set!!!!

Not yet, but I just saw final language for our rules, so we're close. We had some legal hurdles we had to complete...hopefully one-time issues we can avoid in future years. Look for Registration soon and the draft room to open once this league is full. Thanks man.

Are you still drawing the kds at 12 today?Greg Ambrosius wrote:Okay, the $375 Slow Draft League 1 is NOW FULL!! In fact, we're OVERFILLED!! Roger Martin said he would take a spot if we didn't fill by Monday, but obviously we filled this one up on Saturday night. I'll see if Roger or Terry will get that last spot, but either way we need to set plans in motion to get this league going. I'll email the list today and get this league rolling. Send your KDS preferences to me at [email protected] by Tuesday noon ET and we'll pick the draft spots and get this league rolling by week's end (hopefully). We just have to get past one legal hurdle, give one last test to the draft software and get moving. Thanks all.

Re: Signup List For First $1,000, $375 and $150 NFBC Slow Dr
I apologize for the delay in the start of the Slow Drafts, but we have a legal issue that is taking more time than we expected. I'm told that Registration won't be available until next week as we tackle this important issue and thus Slow Drafts won't be able to start until next week at the earliest. Sorry. I'll provide more updates as they become available, but plan accordingly and hopefully we can start these three full Slow Drafts next week. Thanks all for your patience.

Can we start the 375 via email if we organize it and keep track of the picks until all is ready to go?

I can only speak of a large number of the owners in the 375 Slow Draft, but with this group we will have no problems. Heck we have KJ Duke, RT, and MtM in this league for Gosh Sake! Plus it will help us get the ball rolling and will allow us to sign up for more slow drafts hearding towards Spring Training etc...

As soon as Greg gives us the ok to get this rolling privately, we will organize it quickly if the guys in the 375 want to. Then we can just update the draft like they will need to with the other drafts from Arizona will need to.Rog wrote:I am ok with email to start with both the 375 and 150

I don't care if you guys want to email each other, but no pick will be official until we get everyone registered, paid and in the draft room. I know it's frustrating and trust me it's no fun to be on hold for us, either, but this isn't a small matter. It's something we need to work through.Winston's Empire wrote:Can we start the 375 via email if we organize it and keep track of the picks until all is ready to go?
Do what you'd like, but hopefully these leagues will start next week. I believe they will and nobody on our signup lists are in jeopardy of the legal issue we are dealing with. So plan to draft once we get this done.

Re: Signup List For First $1,000, $375 and $150 NFBC Slow Dr
I understand, but we have to work through this issue first. It involves which state residents are allowed to play in the NFBC after one state contacted us asking us to disallow their residents from playing. As you can imagine, this is something we have to look at seriously and explore it thoroughly. Had this not happened, we were ready to roll sooner. Now give our legal department time to sift through this and get the final rules posted for all to see and most to join. I think we can get rolling middle of next week if all goes well.whipsaw wrote:Same question for the other slow drafts... would really like to get these started.

Greg, I think if you are confident we will be rolling by this time next week we can wait. If its going to be longer than that, I think that most of us would like to get rolling. Its December 7th now and if we start them past this time next week (December 13th), your heading into Christmas and everything else.

Greg - I'm assuming any slow drafts conducted via email are not considered officially sanctioned NFBC events and will not be included in the overall slow draft championship. Is this accurate?

Re: Signup List For First $1,000, $375 and $150 NFBC Slow Dr
I'm certainly ready to start drafting, but am I the only one concerned about starting by email, if it's not really official? All it takes is one guy at one point trying to change a pick and everything blows up. I doubt anything like that happens, but what if it does? Does someone having a list of who everyone has drafted really stop someone from changing their pick and therefore everything after it, once the official draft room opens? If all other 14 of you want to start, I'll go ahead too, but would like more detail on how it would really work.

People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring.
