Now that I can no longer afford to pay for the NFBC Main Event due her spree, I somehow have to figure out how to come back and win this thing so I can still participate come March.

Again, there are 1000 different directions I'd like to go. No players out there provide plus production in all categories any longer, so my goal is to find players that provide the most plus in any of the categories that they do help out in (and hopefully don't hurt too many others in the process). What I've settled on is a player who while weak in BA (relatively in this draft) and SB (in any capacity), provided production in HR's, RBI's, and runs for one season that few players in history were able to produce. He's the last player available who contributes 130/130 in runs & RBI's and one of only seven players in history who've managed a 50/135/135 HR/RBI/R season. He'll fill my CI position. That player......

Johnny Mize 1947

I would have taken Mize had Glenn not so nice pick Glenn. I think we have taken each others player at least twice each now. I will go with the guy I had next on my list at corner infield:

Ted Kluszewski aka Big Klu

1954

.326 AVG / 49 HR / 104 R / 141 RBI

I'll take an Outfielder.

Yeah, things have definitely changed there, they sure were fun to watch in the late 90's though. Galarraga, Bichette, Burks, Walker and Helton already represented here from that era.

Brings back memories....

I still remember Lee and Jones on your team in '05.

Seemed like they hit a homer every day....

Hoyt Wilhelm 1965 ( amazingly his age 42 season)

Rafael Soriano 2010

The picks at this turn might be some of the hardest that we've had to make thus far in the draft. Obviously, we had a strategy in place that we have followed to this point, but at the same time you have to be able to adjust to what other teams are doing. It seems to me, that more teams than expected are valuing and targeting certain categories which I thought would be less sought after.

Nonetheless, with most teams jumping on board the closer run in the last several rounds, we don't want to be completely shut out there either.

Welcome to the team...

Hoyt Wilhelm, 1965 Chicago White Sox

7 W / 20 SV / 1.81 ERA / 0.833 WHIP / 106 K (144 IP)

And while we're at it, let's keep things moving along as quickly as possible and compliment our knuckleballing closer with one of the more traditional fire-balling variety..

Rafael Soriano, Tampa Bay Rays 2010

3 W / 45 SV / 1.73 ERA / 0.802 WHIP / 57 K (62 1/3IP)

Hopefully everyone keeps a close eye on their own roster moving forward. With two blind rounds already in hand and a third coming, it's almost impossible to verify everyone's roster.
