The process of claiming your prize will be quick and it will get the payment process started. This is my worry, Greg, and probably others as well...
You are comparing having a check in hand from F&W to getting a process started.
The million dollar question is-
When do we have check in hand?

When do we have check in hand? [/QUOTE]Dan, I remember folks emailing me when I was at the AFL that they just got their checks and they thanked us for the quick turnaroud. I'm leaving for AFL on Thursday, so we're talking a 1 week difference right now. You are correct, I don't know how fast we'll be turning around thousands of checks, but we'll all know quickly once the process starts. I'm new to this with you.
Fanball has been doing this for years. Hopefully it will be a quick turnaround, but we'll all soon find out. Write all you want if that process takes longer than you like, but we're not there yet.

How close is the Draft Room to being ready for slo drafts? We have most of that done. I met with the IT team last week in St. Louis and I think they can add everything we requested. They are looking into providing email updates and text updates for each pick, which would be cool. They're adding the other requested features like making lists for picks in multiple rounds and then we'll test it out. That should be shortly.
Everyone agrees that we have an opportunity to really do something good in the Slow Draft area and the guys in St. Louis already had some of that built. So we're adding the rest and should be ready to roll soon. But nothing gets rolled out before we can start paying out 2010.
Almost all of the features I requested for back-end improvements on the game site were approved as well and will be implemented too. I'll update that once we get rolling, but I had 14 items and we're on the same page with all of them. That includes Live Standings for the overall and league standings. That's something that hopefully will be implemented in all of the Fanball commissioner products, which will be a win-win for everyone using our software. All good suggestions from the group and our team in St. Louis is doing a great job.

Oh, sorry, I thought I was addressing Gekko!!
I hate to state dates when I have no control over them. Last week the guys sounded like this would be done in a week or two. But we definitely have to test it all out to make sure everything works right. We don't want to rush this out just to get it started. We want it started right and have everyone get excited about using this nice software.
The biggest concern is the number of Placeholders we're going to have early on. And going to 50 rounds instead of 45 will really add a lot of Placeholders. I said I knew that and that Geoff and me and Tom will have to really stay on those to make sure all rosters are eventually right. But Placeholders are going to be common until STATS has all Player IDs in the system.
But again, everyone is on the same page here with the Slow Draft software. We're excited about unveiling it and KJ and others have given us their wish list of ideas and the guys think they can include all of those. I'm excited.

ie, if we "claim our prize" this week, why wouldn't our checks get sent out next friday.
AGAIN, THIS QUESTION SHOULDN'T BE A TOUGH ONE FOR A COMPANY THAT DOES THIS EVERY YEAR
while i really do appreciate the updates Greg provides, a whole month goes by and no one from Fanball can tell us when checks will be mailed? fanball leaves its customers twisting in the wind (again)

That's when they went out last year, too. The company is trying to make that happen again. The message hasn't changed, you just don't like it. I understand why. I get it.
We all want checks out as fast as possible. Again, we weren't much quicker at Krause's when we just had one game. Now let's stop the debate and get the checks moving.

Wrong on both points (par for the course).
Under CDM it was 6-8 weeks.
Since Fanball took over it has been 4-6 weeks.

Get your facts straight slappy. Prize Money Policy: Cash prize winners are formally notified via U.S. mail four to six weeks after the conclusion of each Fanball-operated fantasy game. This notification includes a detailed breakdown of prize winnings as well as instructions for claiming your cash prize. Prizes are fulfilled six to eight weeks following notification.
that was taken from the fanball site. read the last sentence. at least you went down with a swinging strikeout

wrong...funny how I got my FANBALL check last year for a non-NFBC game in 5 weeks. Seems like 5 weeks is shorter than the 6-8 week time frame. How did that happen?

I'm trying to wait patiently for the check and I think Gekko makes valid points. I was accustomed to already being paid by this time the last few years. I thought based upon the unpleasant website issues we experienced this year that Fanball would "Wow" us and pay early as a sign of goodwill.
My little rant is no reflection of Greg, Tom, etc. I know its out of your hands. I'd addicted to your great game and I'll be back for more in 2011.

One other thing that is a misconception to clear up.
I sent out an email to four bankers wanting to park 2 million dollars and the best rate I have gotten back .7 percent.
So assuming Fanball is getting similar rates and holding 1 million dollars in total prizes they are netting themselves an extra 135 bucks a week doing it. Not even Ryan E Houston makes decisions over 135 bucks a week.
