Sorry for the delay. Had to work until midnight. I am totally shocked at how many pitchers have been taken so far. I know how important every category is in fantasy baseball. Without further ado. I will select the best 1B man to play the game. My pick 1.12 will be 1931 Lou Gehrig. 46hr 163r 184rbi 17sb .341avg. 619ab 211hits.

With alot of top pitchers gone, I think it is was time for the iron horse to be picked

I debated taking Koufax or Gehrig. It wasn't an easy choice and I would have been happy with either guy.

Being a relative new NFBC player compared to everyone else in this league, I'm happy and excited to be part of this talented league of players.

With the pitching run that has dominated the 1st round, I am also going with hitting and taking the player that is toe-to-toe with Cobb everywhere except steals at a scarce position. The pick....

shawn - i'm sure everyone has a general strategy when it comes to this draft. will u be asking us for a write-up at the end? kinda like a "here's the plan coming in" and "here's how i made out"?

I'm debating if I have enough time to write about the whole draft. It would be great to have player's thought on draft philosophy and thought process during the draft.

All the players I wanted were gone, so I'll try to stay in contention with the best ratio/K combination left:

Bob Gibson 1968 1.12 ERA .853 WHIP 268K 22W 0SV

1st pic...i don't know a lot about old time players, so i'll base my foundation on a 5 category stud from my generation. yes, he's a product of coors field, however, his numbers count the same as everyone else. :D

he's actually the #4 hitter on my overall board. VERY happy to get him at 15 overall.

Position OF

Year 1997

AB 568

H 208

HR 49
