Mark,
Two nice pick that give you a great base for your hitting numbers.
In case people watching the draft haven’t seen it, I have been updating the picks only as we go along. It’s in the League Forum.

I suspect Gekko and I were thinking along the same lines. I would have taken Foxx slightly over my slugging Cubs OF. Pick 2-2 Hack Wilson 1930 .356-146-56-191-3
Wikipedia: Wilson grew up in the Pennsylvania steel mill town of Ellwood City.[3] Although only five feet six inches tall, he weighed 195 pounds, and had an 18-inch neck and size-6 shoes. One sportswriter observed that he was "built along the lines of a beer keg, and was not wholly unfamiliar with its contents."[citation needed] His odd physique — large head, tiny feet, short legs and broad, flat face, described in detail in a recent biography[7] — are now readily recognizable as hallmarks of the Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, making his later accomplishments, in the face of a crippling congenital disability, all the more remarkable

thanks. IMO, the only way to get back at the "pitcher early" owners is to slam the hitters and get 70+ leagues points. i'm gonna continue to punish those owners
btw, thanks for keeping a running tally of the picks on that thread. makes it very easy to keep up with the flow.

i probably value sb and avg more than you. might want to consider tweaking your formula to bump those up, otherwise you are gonna come up short.

PM me if u don't want anyone else to see.

The average target really doesn't give anything away. I have the total league average right around .332. With half the teams above and half the teams below that mark. Based off of that and where I want to be in that category, I know exactly what I need.

I have a feeling that my sb target is a bit lower than what you have, which would explain the difference.

I have a couple of non-baseball related projects going on, when I have a chance, I will figure out a better way to post the standings so they format better.

This next pick is actually who we were deciding between for our 1st pick and decided on Lajoie. There were many years to decide on and a position decision as well - the 1st pick of the many steroid enhanced seasons....
2001 Alex Rodriguez (SS)
AVG .318
HR 52
RBI 135
R 133

SB 18 Interesting call on A-Rod 2001. Was any consideration to using his 2007 at 3B instead?
