Thunder, thunder, thunder, thunder
I was caught
In the middle of a railroad track
I looked round
And I knew there was no turning back
My mind raced
And I thought what could I do
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you
Sound of the drums
Beating in my heart
The thunder of guns
Tore me apart
You've been
Thunderstruck

Are we deciding the Snake order before the auction or when?

When STATS sets us up in a league, we will all find out our draft order.

So you're saying it will be random? That's cool thanks.
I know at one point you said it might be the reverse of the nomination order so I didn't know if that meant I'm the first pick.

It is random.
It is unclear in whether the 1st or 15th pick will be the first pick of the 24th round.
STATS dictates that.
The nomination order is in no way connected with the snake order.

Not sure about this. I suspect the snake will be either the nom order or the reverse nom order.

Unless we can still use a KDS from STATS and have it done that way.

If I had ever done an auction before, I might appreciate the subtle nuances of where I am in the nomination order and what it might mean. As an auction format virgin, however, it strikes me as much ado about nothing. I can bid, or not bid, on any player, whether nominated by myself or someone else. Perhaps, in a room full of experienced auction players, an early nomination and bid might be a revealing "tell" as to how the night might play out. However, that ain't happening tonight. I am a wild card. No one knows how I'm going to play it tonight, least of all me!

My goal is to spend my money and not be absolutely disgusted or embarrassed by my team. I am looking forward to learning a lot tonight. In the immortal words of the not-so-immortal linebacker Bart Scott, formerly of the Jets, "can't wait!"

Ha! That's how random it is. Todd and I have two different trains of thought.
Todd's thinking that STATS will take the 23 players drafted in order by each drafter.
I'm thinking that STATS will run KDS and input the 23 players under each drafters name.
So there you have it, totally random. :D

I wish I had jumped in this auction, but wanted the $250 one. Too bad I am going to miss the pain inflicted by whoever said that.

I don't think there's any advantage/disadvantage to nomination order. It's often awarded to the champion and then just goes clockwise (assuming a live room).

Can I do a mock auction on rtsports if so how. Went there and there just seems to be leagues you buy into. Since I may not be able to do 1 of the leagues Todd sets up next week I'd like to try the site so I don't have any mishaps when we do it for real.

I think you can just jump in to any of those auction ones that you see. For example, there are ones at 7:40 and 8:10. You may be the only one in there - as I was last night - ha ha. It was doing something for me so I think it was working.

I know no one wants to be here for 8 hours in an auction. But I found 30 seconds to be way too brief for the actual bidding. The nomination should only be about 15 seconds but the bidding should be longer. We'll see what the feedback is from tonight's bidding.

I actually thought 30 seconds of bidding is too long; when it hits 10 seconds, it begins the going once, going twice, about 4 second separation, if you bid before it goes to 0, the clock goes back to 10 second and again, going once, going twice, and continues that way if someone bids before it hitting player gone.

And you're correct, I don't want to be in an auctions that lasts 8 hours; a LIVE auction, 23 rounds and 7 reserve rounds is about 5.5 hours;

Ahh, see, it didn't do that in the mock. Unless it was because I didn't have my sound on. Well that is ok then. In that case then maybe 30 seconds IS too long. Thanks for sharing that.

Yes, I was doing a mock last night, you need your sound on.

Ok dumb questions. Do you need to create an account to play on the site? and where do you see these auctions taking place. I can't find them other than the pay ones.

Well, I was invited by Todd and got an email. It did ask me for an account number. I didn't think I had an account so I tried to create a new one - and it said my email address was already taken. So one apparently was already created for me and it was the same password as my NFBC account. Anyway, hope that helps. But even without all that you should be able to find the mocks. I am sure you will get multiple responses to your question tomorrow - ha ha. Guys might just now be finishing the auction. Really excited to hear their feedback.

Good draft, went 6 hours. Longest draft I've been involved with, but fun. My computer wasn't too cooperative either and cost me a few bids on players and the group a little time.

OK I'll give you some prices for my players.
A McCutchen $37
C Sale $24
D Price $23
K Medlen $15
