We will have to agree to disagree here my friend. :D

I was not taking a dig at "workers" or "labor" in general. The point that was made and the point I addressed was that the MLBPA would not let the DH die because too many of its higher-paid members could not compete at a high level with regards to the entire player package (i.e. be able to field a position). That is all. Just does not seem right to me.

As to the other points, we will probably disagree here as well. I have no issue with owners paying huge sums...I wouldn't do it but it is (supposed to be) a free country (free for the owners to take the risks without anyone sharing them and accepting the portion of the rewards that others want to allow them to). I am sure it makes great business sense for a team to purchase a DH-in-waiting like Pujols especially since the Angels were having such problems attracting fans (top five in attendance last year and one of nine teams with 3.0m + attendance), having no other options at first base (except Morales and Trumbo 2nd in ROY voting), and the fact that Pujols will be still in his prime in 10 years (he will be 42 when the contract expires). But no one forced Moreno to do it so bully for Albert. It is a free country and we dumb fans just allow both groups to get away with picking our pockets by watching TV, attending games, paying for parking, food, etc., buying shirts and playing fantasy baseball. I guess we get what we deserve. I also guess that is why I attend more minor league games that major league ones now.

I am sure Pujols will earn every dime he will make....just like Soriano...just like Burnett...just like Beltran...just like Wells...just like Rodriguez...just like Zito...Lackey...

But maybe that is another thread! 8-)
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
