Uggh. You can't strike out Brandon Allen? Why do I play this game?

I fully support replacing saves as a category with blown saves.

Atleast you were smart enough to draft Brandon Allen in R30...

Five games this afternoon.
All decided by closers.
Three of the five blew the save.
That seems like the percentage for the year.....

At this rate 40 saves might lead the nfbc,I dont know what is worse having broxton and santos (forced to pay heavily for cordero(3 plus)or sticking or starting marcum or masterson? EPIC FAIL

The collateral damage caused by the friendly fire is pretty high as well, three starting pitchers today did not get the wins they deserved....Nolasco, Williams and Bailey all threw very well only to see "their" closer backfire...

4 innings and Walden is out of the closer role. LOL. Scioscia is in full panic mode. Maybe he should focus on the fact that his team can't score because they would swing a hot dog wrapper if it blew across the batter's box.

Now it's, I'll wait for the next new one next week....

Javier Guerra might be done now too, not good. What about Strop? Unbelievable!

Ayala's already passed Strop. Strop didn't blow a save but the manager dreamed that he might blow one, so Ayala got the last one. Twenty teams don't have closers, just save opps for random RPs.

it was painful watching HROD try and close a Nats win out tonight. He cannot throw strikes....but at least he throws 100 mph....lol. Ultimatley he failed and Harper gets to continue his MLB debut....

With the exception of 2 or 3 closers, they all suck. My blows save % must be 40%, which is probably close to the league average

Looks like Matt Thornton blew his chance of getting consideration. He fails as soon as he got a sniff.

Thorton went for $197 in my Main Event league this week and I liked the fact the guy took the shot! The runner up bid $156, so the guy wasn't alone thinking Thortons #'s would get him a chance at he closers role. Time will tell, but nothing gambled, nothing gained and if Chicago does name him the closer he will surely go for $400 + where he isn't taken!

If during our post-draft "how good is my team" frenzy someone posts that their two closers were Rodney and Johnson, how many of us would have complimented them on their spectacular choices and intelligence?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
