What are the key RULES CHANGES from last year? As I recall they are:
-- minimum IP (I think it's 400?)
-- KDS draft preference system
-- ability to swap-out players who end up on the DL mid-week with available bench players, but only for Friday (i.e., for the weekend games?).
-- others? Am I missing any?
Can you just summarize what the key rules changes are for this year in the main event vs. last year.
Thanks -- and great job, as always!

Thanks -- and great job, as always! Those are the ones. The only other one is that you are limited to draft players who are on the 40-man rosters of MLB teams or who are included on the list by us. Every NFBC owner will get this list soon via e-mail and at the draft. Guys like Roger Clemens are included on the list, even though he's not on an MLB roster right now. The reason for this is to prevent owners from drafting Class A guys who will never see the majors (thus trying to win ERA and WHIP the wrong way).

What do you think of Beltran this year? I know you built a few teams last year with he as your first rounder, do you think he'll rebound? I definitely think he'll run more, fully healthy, which right there should pump him up a bit. But does he have any shot at producing top 4 numbers? No doubt he felt the pressure of living up to last year's big contract, as expected,
How could anyone live up to the contract Beltran received:
Carlos Beltran: signed 7-year deal worth 119M on 1/11/05
- he receives an 11M signing bonus: (w/ no taxes applied)
- + he receives salaries of 10M in 2005, 12M in both 2006 and 2007 and 18.5M in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011
- + he can earn award bonuses:
WAY TOO MANY TO LIST
- + the deal includes a full No-Trade clause
- + he receives a personal pitching machine from the team
- + some traveling costs for his family is paid by the team
- + he receives the best available 15-person luxury suite at all home games, including the post-season, though he must pay for post-season tickets
- + he receives a Hotel Suite when on the road
- + the team will lease him a conditioned ocular (eye) enhancer machine (a device that throws colored, numbered tennis balls to batters at 150 mph or faster)
- + will contribute 150K annually to a charity of his choice and 150K annually to charity of club's choice
- + the team has agreed not to offer him arbitration when he becomes a Free Agent after the contract expires in 2011 (meaning the team must decide whether or not to re-sign him by Dec. 7th, 2011)

We are guaranteed 26 memorabilia prizes for our weekly contest, but don't have a list yet. I haven't officially announced them yet, but we do have prizes. I'm working on another set of prizes too as I'd like to include Upper Deck Authenticated again if possible as they have been with us from the start. So we'll see what happens, but we have at least one set of prizes for our weekly contest.

That is going to be our BEST $1 pickup of the weekend. I couldn't believe we got him for a buck as everyone said, "Oh, another homer Brewers' pick by Ambrosius!" Our only Brewers are Weeks and Hart.

Greg,
With the shocking allegations about Bonds coming out today, will you officially go on the record and deny that you have never juiced up... It is rumored that Sam Walker is following up fantasyland with a tell all of how you won several expert leagues juiced up? It is rumored to go as far as Tom Kessenich as an accomplice in a scandal that could turn the NFBC on it'e ear. Please clear the air...

Not many pitching staffs will have more K's than Milwaukee's. And Maddux is very underrated as a pitching coach. I see 2nd place behind my Astros.

i'm just imagining if poodles and arod both get hurt thursday, and everyone wants to move down their preferences of the #1 slot and #2 slot, but only a select few (last 8 sign-ups) are able to. thanks.

I haven't followed the Brewers closely since 1992 as I really despised the previous management team that let Molitor go and just put that franchise in the tank. I practically lived at County Stadium in 1982, '83, '84 as I lived near Milwaukee, but they just took the life out of me in the early '90s and I decided to follow my fantasy players more than the Brewers. In fact, I don't think I've watched a full Brewers' game since 1992.
That being said, I do like this new regime and the good, young players they have now. We saw them on Saturday in Maryville and Weeks hit a monster two-run homer, Sheets pitched okay and the young guys looked promising. I could follow this bunch and root for this owner and GM. In fact, Doug Melvin has a great rebuilding plan in place and I'm impressed with the job he's done so far. Who knows, maybe they will make the playoffs in the next two years and I'd feel like it was 1982 all over again!!

They will have to make their decisions on the fly, so they will be at a disadvantage.
MLB.com has an awesome e-mail send set for us tonight or tomorrow. I realize it's late, but it looks good. Let me know if any of you get it as we've been on hold for a few days now. I'd love to see what kind of last minute interest we get from this one. Could we get six Tampa signups from it?
