Why even bother posting this? We all knew you were a "no go" before you wrote this. For the cost of this event, you can do 16.67 more $150 drafts. You're bound to cash in at least one or two them just by the law of averages!

Okay boys and girls, thankfully football season will soon be at a close, and these boards (and hopefully this thread as well) will be buzzing again with activity, trash-talk, and many wanna-be inquiries to what is sure to be the highlight of the New York drafting weekend. 8-) I will be presenting the incredible, one-of-a-kind league champion trophy to the inaugural season's champs on that Friday night, and an after draft dinner is being planned for after the draft festivities themselves. At this point, we have 12 strong...okay 11. It all depends if Thelen's pacemaker holds up, but we're all crossing our fingers to get at least one more year and donation out of him. ;) So if you think you have what it takes to hang with some of the best of the best in the east for some great times and a shot at $20,000, please inquire within here! 8-)

Meanwhile, back at the MTM Fantasy Baseball Halls of Justice...

Thank God the Super Bowl is now over. Yes, yes, great game, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH...But now it's finally time to focus on the best sport the good Lord and all of his angels and apostles and talking animals from Bethlehem and Jesus and Mary and Joseph and baby Jesus and Noah and the Holy Ghost et al, etc. etc, created...but I digress. We are just two more serious owners away from filling up the asylum for this year's big event which is sure to be at least as memorable as last year given the lot that we already have signed on so far. The stories from Vegas the weekend before alone will be worth the price of admission. ;) So please reach out to me or Tom if you think you have what it takes to endure the psychological punishment of this draft, not to mention the horrors that will be in store for us all lurking in Deterra's cooler this time around. No super powers required. You don't even need to prove that you're human. It has long been rumored that Jupinka is a cybernetic organism, and we've let him participate two years in a row now anyway. :P

In this photo: Steve Jupinka arrives at least year's MTM, leaving his usual trail of destruction and ambiguity in his wake.

Bumping this bad boy up where it belongs. Come on boys and girls...wait, that's what this draft needs...a really great female player! We are equal opportunity offenders here at the MTM Invitational, so ladies, feel free to get a "little dirt in your skirts" and jump in on this one. I will throw in a Jupinka buttocks massage for anyone who does. Believe me, once you have massaged Steve Jupinka's buttocks, ladies, you will never be the same!

Ladies, that one was for you...

Mikey, I agree with your thought process on adding female participants to your draft. I'm sure Kate Upton and the gang could team up and make a formidable contender in this league. Worst case scenerio for them is with your history in this league, they'll likely finish no lower than 14th. :)

If you're able to convince this foursome into joining, I would somehow have to find a way to return to this league. Even the Easter weekend wrath of my loving wife might be worth it. Of course if Juprinka's buttocks are going to be on display at any time during the draft, no amount of bikini models could keep me from immediately rescinding that entry.

Glenn, let's put it this way: It doesn't matter if a couple of talking chimps round out this league, because they will finish higher than you in the standings given your b.s., religious exemption excuse you're claiming this season to quit this league while you're ahead. Funny that as soon as you hear about the possibility of hot, gorgeous, NFBC women jumping in to this league, you start changing your tune, huh?

I apologize for the false advertising. There's just no way that there could possibly be any female competitors in the NFBC that look as good as these two. :P

Kent Stermon is thinking about joining us on Friday night for the Super. He's tentative now but I'm sure a little public prodding will get him to commit fully. :D Here's what I think is the current list. Mike, if I'm off on anything let me know.

Great to hear of Kent's interest. He's got no choice but to be in NYC for this, because it's a 100% LIVE Event!. Would be great to have you, Kent. 8-)

Greg, Dobies should be out, but Deterra is missing from the list. He confirmed with me. So we're almost there! C'mon Ambrosius, use your smooth talking ways to lure one of your NFBC babes into the fold for this competition. It needs a feminine touch (Scott Fleming is a Metro-sexual, so that really doesn't count).

We have two spots left for this league. Who else wants to dive in? Let's sell this out and have some Friday night fun in the Big Apple. Who wants to join me?

I am trying to kill two birds with one stone and organize a business meeting should know in the next 7-10 days and hopefully still room for a tentative guy to commit.

Is this a decent hotel to actually stay in or is there a better choice in the area? My business meeting will be at 7 times square the building with the sweet gourmet hamburger stand in the bottom. Any alternative suggestions on hotel?

One last question is there anything unique about this super? Right now I assume it is like any other super I played in. I dont want to be the guy bitching about something everyone knew and agreed to all along at the end. Thanks

6 pm ET is the start time for this league right now. The $1,300 auction begins at 5 pm ET.

Kent, if you get a larger size room or suite or half suite I think you'll be happy with the hotel. This is an older hotel so the smaller rooms leave a little to be desired.

Come on folks, I know there are people coming to NY the second week who would be great members of this league. Where are the Glenns at - Lowy and Schroter? :D

Greg and Tom,
Given some of the scheduling conflicts that a few owners who are mutually participating in both the auction earlier in the day and the MTM, we are going to need to start MTM later like we did last year in Mahwah. I'm not saying 9:00 pm, but a 6:00 pm start time is definitely going to cause problems, and I don't want to lose anyone who wants to do both, especially our returning owners. Let's post a definitive on this so that we can make it work for all of us. Thanks.

Hey Lins, speak for your f!@#ing self! I know misery loves company, but go try commiserating with a couple of the real dead money spots in this league who shall remain nameless. Never mind. I just checked. You're the only one left for this season.

Mikey...just a word of caution there are already a few of us with reservations of having to drive in and out of the city on Friday and Saturday with having to stay really late on Friday. The early auction starts at 10am I believe, so I'm not sure why a push back is needed? If it gets pushed back to much I may have to opt for a phone in as much as I don't want to do that I can't see staying in NYC into the wee hours have to go home then drive back early the next day for the main event. Now how about getting this thing filled up already?

Hey Mike,
I'm working on it now. The conflict is not with the auction earlier in the day, it's the one set for 4:00 pm now. We have a couple of owners who would like to be able to pull off that auction and the MTM, so we'll have to see about the timing. What's the latest you would be able to stay in the city for the MTM? I know a lot of us are staying overnight for the events the next day. There's a happy medium somewhere here, so let me know. Everyone else that has a scheduling concern as of now, hang tight. We'll figure something out. I want you guys all in! :)

I emailed Mike about this. The problem with pushing the $1,300 auction earlier than 5 pm is it then presents a problem with the people who are doing that auction and the 10 am one. Auctions are a lengthy animal as everyone who does them knows and that's a long day for folks doing both of them. So the last thing I want to do is rush those folks. I want to give them time to recharge their batteries and all that between events.

We can push the Super back to 7 pm ET, maybe 7:30. We have the room until 11. It's possible I can squeeze a little more time out of the hotel that night. But I think if we start the Super at 7 pm that will enable us to get it done by 11 or shortly after. Right now that's the best solution I can think of but I'm open to suggestions. :)
