You guys should do what we do in Atlanta...just stop...sometimes still in your car...quit...and start drinking...hopefully not while you are still in your car...and watch the people trying to move bump into each other. Great fun! What a blizzard last week...three whole inches!
Gut feel question. Who is going to win the Colorado second base job...Rutledge or LeMahieu?
Looking at counting stats only, who would you rather have as your third CM...Morneau or LaRoche?
Is it me or do the Brewers look to be about a player away from making it even more interesting in a tough division and what kind of player would you try to get...SP or a real option at first?

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

This is, by far, the worst winter I've ever encountered. Even by Wisconsin standards this has been absolutely brutal. The number of below zero days has become insane. My sister and brother-in-law have a condo in Phoenix they're trying to sell me. I'm about one more 50-below zero day away from buying it and leaving this hellhole behind.

As far as the Brewers go, I'm not a believer. I like the Garza pickup but I think they're a long ways away from being a legitimate contender. Still not sold on the starting rotation and too many holes offensively. I don't think they'll be a very good team this season.

No shoveling required before leaving the house for Cactus League games. The tradeoff is the local politicians and utterly grueling summers.Tom Kessenich wrote:This is, by far, the worst winter I've ever encountered. Is that really the best Colorado can throw out there at second base? Geez. LaMahieu.Edwards Kings wrote:Gut feel question. Who is going to win the Colorado second base job...Rutledge or LeMahieu?

I just can't see LaRoche hitting .237 again. I just don't trust Morneau, even in the ideal ballpark. LaRoche for me.
Nah, they need a lot more parts. Reynolds isn't the answer at first. They would need Aramis Ramirez to stay healthy, Braun to be an MVP again, Gomez to be what he was last year, Khris Davis to be a 20-HR guy and they still wouldn't have enough to contend in that division. They don't have enough pitching, unless someone like Thornburg just surprised everyone. And their starters never go deep enough to keep the bullpen healthy late in the year. This isn't going to be a good team this year.

Let me say a big THANKS to everyone who is participating in the NFBC Draft Champions Leagues. It's an amazing start to the drafting season. At any one time there are 25-30 drafts going on at once, which is pretty cool. We jump into the chat rooms of several of those throughout the day to see what is going on and it's cool. Plus these are going at a pretty good pace for the most part. I just looked at a Jan. 31st start DC that is in Round 24 right now, 7 days later. Amazing. That's a 2-week pace, which is awesome.
We already have 72 $150 full leagues, 8 $400 full leagues and 1 $1,000 full league. So we are already over 80 full leagues and 1-2 are filling every day. Pretty amazing start to the season. Enjoy all as we are definitely headed toward a record-setting season in this event.

Re: Live Chat With Greg & Tom, Thursday, 3 pm ET
Not expecting six months of April/May for Segura, but I think he could have good OBP for a lead-off guy and there is no second guessing his speed. Potentially a nice table setter.
Maybe they bat Gomez second. Nice punch and can also get on base and oh, yeah...speed.
Maybe I am the last guy who believes in Braun, but what he did in 2012 was AFTER he had the dirty steriod report so I believe his stats were not necessary "enhanced". Not 40/30? I will take 35/20. That is a lot of speed and power at the top.
Aramis is a risk to miss some games (I can only name five guys who aren't and by September I will have been wrong about three of them), but he is still high average potential and decent pop. Maybe Braun and Aramis switch places but I doubt it. The only real negative is the RH-ness.
Lucroy at 5? Nice average, 20 HR power? I would say he is a comer, but I think he has already arrived.
Kris Davis may not hit 25 or 30 this year, but he has a chance if he gets a little more loft. A lot of team would like to have a young OFer like him.
Reynolds/Francisco. This is a whole, though when either guesses right it will go a long way. Francisco is at least left-handed.
Gennett/Weeks. Might be a nice place to play the splits as Gennett couldn't hit lefties and Weeks used too.
Garza is not a big splash, but I feel your pain because as a Braves fan, we do not have a shut-down ace either. Still Gallardo, Peralta, Estrada, Lohse should be able to keep the Brewers in most games. Far and away not the best or worst rotation.
Not sure about Henderson but there was nothing wrong with his numbers last year except the flyballs. At least serviceable.
Like I wrote, may not be that far away. All looks good on paper.

If he only took the PEDs to help him with his injury during his MVP season there is reason to believe Braun can remain one of the premier players in the game. And if that occurs, he'll easily be one of this year's best value picks. And if you're getting value in the first round (which is where Braun is going) your chances to win big are going to rise substantially.Edwards Kings wrote: Maybe I am the last guy who believes in Braun, but what he did in 2012 was AFTER he had the dirty steriod report so I believe his stats were not necessary "enhanced". Now whether you want to take a chance on all that is the question.

Sorry my Colorado question was not up to snuff. Kind of a "late speed" research question.
How long can Arizona keep Bradley down? Up in June?
Can Trevor Bauer find the plate?
Which is the real Cespedes, 2012 or 2013?
Did Marte make a believer in you last year?

The Diamondbacks know they have a special one here in Bradley and he will be up by June at the latest. I think he makes a nice impact for Arizona and for fantasy owners. I like him A LOT.Edwards Kings wrote:Sorry my Colorado question was not up to snuff. Kind of a "late speed" research question.

Bauer has a great fastball, but will he listen to anyone and change his approach? I don't think so. I'm not buying here. I'd like to see him succeed, but he really needs to get a more effective off-speed approach and get ahead in the count. 16 walks in 17 innings won't cut it.
Cespedes 2012. I see a bounceback season.
Yes. What's not to like here? I loved him in the first half last year. Great speed and more power to come. I'm buying.

1)Will we have a more visually appealing live scoring (i.e. less cluttered and no irrelevant stats) and in a column format like the old live scoring? I still think the layout on the older live scoring version is superior to the current one and would like to see that format used with the increased speed. Also, the delay on pitching stats loading is annoying.
2) Also, any chance we can have an even later FAAB deadline? I for one would love to have an 11 PM EST deadline. Most other Fantasy Leagues run their FAAB in the middle of the night and nobody seems to have a problem with that. I would love even more time on Sunday night to sort through waivers and analyze the upcoming week during the Sunday night game, that's half the fun and have always hated the early FAAB deadline constraints on Sundays...in fact in all of the sports.
3) Please tell me we are going to eliminate that 30 minute buffer from the FAAB deadline until the results are released. Have always found that quite annoying as well.

1. We will update Live Scoring tweaks later. If people want the box score look like we used to have, we'll definitely discuss. 2. No. We just moved it back from 8 pm to 10 pm ET. That's a good time for everyone to still see their winning free agents and get lineups set for Monday.
3. It was always a 15 minute buffer. It takes seconds to run all FAAB, so that's not the delay. We created a delay and we'll always have a buffer. I'll ask if it can be reduced to 5 or 10 minutes this year, so that folks get winning FAAB bids sooner.

This has been discussed and I thought (as many of us have) that this was a priority. OK, I'll throw you a baseball question. How far will Rodney move up in the rankings now that he has a home and most likely the closing gig there?
I see you've been taking some heat for taking Hamilton in the 7th round of an industry draft. Have they swayed your thinking? Will Shawn talk you out of the first Judy off the board in your upcoming auctions?
Thanks for taking the time here.

What will be the last day for sign ups for the 8 hour DC's?
Will we ever see a 12 team DC? Could be great prep for the online championship and primetime players.

#3 is huge. I was in the minority wanting to keep 8PM but I'm fine with 10PM as well. Once the moves go through some owners with 5-10+ teams have a lot of work going through the lineups. I get up early for work so I need to take care of this Sunday night. Having FAAB run in 5 minutes and being ready to view bids and set lineups at 10:05PM would be fantastic. A big ditto!!! I wouldn't even mind instantaneous results. Seriously, the delay is a byproduct (and understandable overreaction) to that first weekend disaster during Fanball's first and only year running the show. We've been good since.
