Maybe try a different day.I didn't make it home in time to check lineups.
A lower price point for some draft champions.Like $5 80 entries.

Or how about we just leave it as is and quit trying to

How about we don't change shit!?! $25 is a nice entry fee in my opinion for a shot at a ME entry with the option of playing two entries. I like it. I would prefer a $50 entry fee as well but that didn't fly. Not sure why we have to always "attract" the $5 entry fee guys to appease them. Don't think there is much opportunity for "growth" in that demographic. If ya can't afford $25.00 then you probably shouldn't be playing fantasy sports. Not get off my lawn!Deadheadz wrote:![]()
How about this...
Alternate the $1600 Majn Event entry as the prize every 2nd Friday, then every other Friday make the prize a $350 RotoWire Online Championship entry for the top 5 finishers (assumes 2015 price still $350).
Could be more participation with a greater number of payouts. Maybe a few new players will join who aren't interested in playing in 15-team NFBC events?
Just a thought.

Re: Win A Free Main Event Entry Friday Night On Fanduel
Friday night is a tough night to do Fan Duel for us West Coasters with a regular job.
I like to do Fan Duel like some folks like to do cross word puzzles. When I have an hour or so of free time, I'll take a run at team. Usually figure out my pitcher first, then take the time to look at the individual matchups for hitters. All told, I probably take about 45 minutes or more to put together the team. Then, within an hour of contest deadline, i'll double check weather and lineups, making sure all my players ar in the game. This can take 5 minutes to up to an half hour like it did last night with so many weather challenged game.
My point is for us out west, with deadline at 4 pm on a Friday, it's hard to find the time to put in a competitive team for the early start contests on Fanduel.
So my suggestion Is to make it a late start contest on Friday, or do it on Saturday. It would give people an extra time to "get in the game".

Sure, how about we "don't change shit!?!" as COZ says and have fewer and fewer entries every week.COZ wrote: How about we don't change shit!?! $25 is a nice entry fee in my opinion for a shot at a ME entry with the option of playing two entries. We were asked for suggestions on ways to boost participation because only 60 entries came in Friday. Let's not change shit and next week get just 40 entries after which they'll just not bother to run the games anymore. How would you like that COZ?!?
Kindof helps when you read all the posts not just the ones you want to shit upon.
What's more likely is COZ wants lower participation so he'll eventually be able to win. Every week his odds get better. Too bad NFBC isn't running a charity so they're not planning to offer a $1600 prize for a contest with $25 entry and 20 participants.

I agree that a $25 entry for a shot at the main is a GREAT PRIZE.
I never said to eliminate it maybe just a diffent day might help.
I also suggested maybe some lower price points for some draft champions.I suggested that because those seem to be very popular.Maybe thats a weekday thing.Maybe not.If it doesnt happen no big deal.
I know everyone cant be pleased and I thought we were asked for some suggestions.

Ummmm....we had like 60 entries I believe not 40. Settle down DH, I was just playing. And yes, I did not read further down for Greg's suggestions so I missed that. And yes, less entries equals more oppo-taco for ME which I like. Honestly, a lower entry fee for the lottery ticket that is the OC has no appeal to me.

The $25 for a main entry is a fine entry point. I missed last night because I did not get home until 6:50. I tried to get in under the wire but once I saw rain here and perhaps there I ran out of time to check to see if my players were all playing.
If there was a way to take entry fees starting Monday (just to lock contestants in) and then have us set lineups on Friday it might really help. There has been at least one week so far that the contest link was not even up until a few hours before games started. If we opened up the "sign up" sheet on Monday we could at least have a "count down" of the number of contestants all week for Greg/Tom to help push us along.

OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

Easy solution here -LETS GET THE LINK UP EARLIER.
It's been posting late. Sometimes 8-9-10PM EST on Thursday or even Friday AM. If you can get the link posted early on Thursday you should have no problems.

Okay, anyone know the name of the winner this week? If not, I'll ask Fanduel.
Agreed, we need to get the link from Fanduel earlier on Thursday. We'll stay at $25 and give it another shot. Thanks all.

Re: Win A Free Main Event Entry Friday Night On Fanduel
Greg/Tom --
$25 is the right price point.
I think the weather had a lot to do with the lower number of sign-ups as well as the timing. Just remember with the link, they can't provide it without the salaries being set up so there is a limit to how early they can do it.
My suggestions to increase participation is to
1. interview the previous week's winner on your radio show
2. Keep it within the usual NFBC outlets until 6 PM ET and if there are openings, arrange with the 6 PM ET show on SiriusXM (it's a show about daily fantasy with Fantasy Alarm) to mention it.
Personally, I think it's great that Michael Leone, one of the best DFS players won the NFBC ticket to get the DFS crowd more into the NFBC. Drew plays, let's get more!

Is he an NFBCer or have we been given permission to send the link out to friends to try to get the full field of 75?
If we're going to be going up against DFS pros, I won't be taking part anymore. That's just my preference.

I'm not the FanDuel expert but anyone who's made a deposit mid week knows you can enter the Sunday depositors Freeroll as early as Friday so they do have the ability to open a game 2 days in advance. Since the NFBC game is private, there shouldn't be an issue with salaries but more with the player pool changing and new players possibly not being available.ToddZ wrote: I think the weather had a lot to do with the lower number of sign-ups as well as the timing. So long as everyone is given the same list of salaries to work with, the game remains fair.
But again, that's just my opinion. Not an expert, so correct me if I'm wrong.
