Re: 1 Spot Left In NFBC Platinum League In Las Vegas
Okay, we are still working through some things like the draft spot selection process and the final payout, but right now we have 14 owners who have shown a commitment to the NFBC Platinum League and have voted on their prizes preference. We have a little interest from some other owners, but right now we don't have a 15th owner in line for this final spot. We still have four weeks to go, however, so there's still time to fill this one up.
Right now the vast majority of owners are voting for a $13,000 entry fee and a Pay Top 4 prize structure. We'll approach FAAB in a followup email this week. As of now, here is the tentative signup list for this league, with 13 of 14 owners being live in Las Vegas for this draft:
NFBC PLATINUM LEAGUE

Saturday, March 28, 6 p.m. PT

Re: 1 Spot Left In NFBC Platinum League In Las Vegas
Okay, all 14 owners are signed up now for the Platinum and have agreed to a $13,000 entry fee and $100,000 top league prize. Look for an email likely on Thursday with options on prize structure (just some options concerning 3rd and 4th place) and on the draft spot selection process (2 available options). We should be able to fill this last spot in the next week and finalize everything, but thanks for working with us this year on the new Platinum League.
We are talking with SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio about broadcasting this league live and hosting interviews with the participants before the draft and on Sunday throughout the day. This is going to be great exposure for the Platinum League participants and for the NFBC. Thanks all and good luck.
Again, all 14 owners on the list above are signed up and ready to go. NOW ONLY 1 SPOT LEFT!!!

An FYI your signup for this league still shows the $20,000 fee originally set for the Platinum. That will be adjusted to $13,000 when you send in your check payment.

This league is begging for someone with Iron Balls to fill that last spot.

I know Bob has to be thinking...

All I can say is I can't wait to meet everyone in Vegas this year, and if you have to ask who the little mosquito is flying about...

Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC Platinum League In Las Vegas
I apologize for not sending out an email to all 15 Platinum participants about the voting for the draft spot selection process in this league. I have heard from everyone and I wanted to send out an email yesterday before flying to Phoenix and just got caught up with everything (including a 90-minute FSTA board meeting). I'll still try to do that soon.
The voting was again interesting, but the majority of owners want FAAB to determine draft spots. There were 8 owners who wanted FAAB and 6 who wanted KDS/random draw. One owner didn't care either way. So we are going with FAAB in the Platinum League.
Now the key is how and when to do this. Bob Particelli is flying to Vegas from London on Thursday night and won't be there by 6 or 7 pm PT. A few other owners aren't planning to be there early Thursday evening as well. Since we are bidding for spots and kind of give you control on where you want to draft, can we do this on Friday around noon PT? Or should we do it earlier than Thursday? Someone has suggested an online auction for spots, but with this high-end group that could be very tough.
Anyway, no need to go wild on this thread as I'm going to send out an email about this soon and we can discuss privately. Plan on using FAAB for draft spots in some type of live auction because that's what the masses wanted. I think it will be a fairer way to let everyone pick their strategies on draft spots. If anyone has a problem with this, speak now to me at [email protected] or hold your peace until you can holler at me in Las Vegas!!! Thanks all.
The Diamond Draft League is still unresolved on draft spot selection process. Not everyone has replied and because we have 10 live in LV and 5 on the phone, it's not as clear-cut for FAAB as the selection process. In fact, the vote is tied right now. I'll reach out to those who haven't voted yet and can this resolved shortly. Thanks all and we'll stay in touch.

Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC Platinum League In Las Vegas
Okay, look for an email shortly from me about the date for bidding on our draft spots in the NFBC Platinum League. I called a couple of owners yesterday and I think we're moving toward a good resolution. We don't have one yet, but hopefully this will work. Thanks to everyone for being so flexible on our first NFBC league that is using FAAB for draft spots in a live bidding auction. Should be interesting.
Just as an FYI: We will be doing the bidding for draft spots starting with Pick 1, then going to Pick 2, then to Pick 3, etc. down to Pick 15. One at a time starting with 1 and finishing with 15. I guess we better decide if 15 still has to bid $1 or not. I will say yes since all bids are in $1 increments and even in FAAB we don't have any $0 winning bids. So $1 for Pick 15.
Also, it does look like SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio will be broadcasting the Platinum League and will be hosting a 1-hour pre-draft show. We should have 4-5 hours of coverage live from Las Vegas on Saturday, March 28th. They will also host a morning show live from the Bellagio as well before our NFBC Diamond Draft League. There will be plenty of time and opportunity to get a lot of our NFBC guys on the air. And of course Jeff Erickson, Chris Liss and Derek Van Riper are all drafting in the NFBC Main Event out in Las Vegas, so if you make a good impression in any of their leagues they may ask you to be on air with them Sunday morning even if you're not in the Diamond or Platinum Leagues!!
Okay, look for the email shortly everyone and let's finalize this. Thanks all and good luck.

Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC Platinum League In Las Vegas
Greg, we allow zero bids in football. Zero should be OK as a bid ... and it's one less number for you to adjust on the league site.

Re: SOLD OUT: NFBC Platinum League In Las Vegas
My plan for FAAB bidding on Saturday morning is getting derailed in a hurry!!
Too many guys don't want Saturday after the Main as well. It's time to look at Plan C. Let me see what option is next, maybe even late afternoon or evening Friday. Stay tuned.
FAAB is a great idea, but getting 15 eccentrics like this group together at the same time is never easy. I knew that would be the tough part. Let me see if I can come up with another plan, but Saturday morning seems to be a no go right now.
