Not much of a drop-off with Gee and better talent should be on the way later in the year. Doesn't hurt the Mets at all this year except depth, and makes them better in 16/17.

You mean other than the the 2-3 K's per 9 dropoff, fewer ground balls, more home runs, higher WHIP, higher ERA...

Either you are pulling my leg on Gee or my garter is too tight...Gee is basically servicable who is behind Fat Bart on the depth chart! :D 8-)
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Gee has performed and projects out to a lower WHIP and gets deeper into games. Strip out the upside Wheeler hype and you have a highly comparable pitcher in value for the Mets this year. Post-TJ maybe Wheeler will get to his promise but it wasn't happening this year.

Well, you are a damn site better at this game than me, so I will certainly trust your opinion. I just do not see him as being a source of K's or ERA help.

Regardless, I am guessing Gee will move up from end-gamer to 6th or 7th starter on some teams (4th on the fabulous Mr. X's team of course, right behind Harvey, deGrom and Niese).

Alex Cobb = "forearm tightness"

Hold your breath on this one too.

Fantasy value is a bigger gap but I don't think the Mets care about that. Or maybe they do.

Forearm tightness or elbow hurts is always a big 'Uh Oh'.
Hope for the best for Cobb....

The same event could mean different things to different folks....

Real life- "What a productive work day!"
Pitchers - "I threw a Shutout"
Fantasy- Love this guy

Real Life- "Sucky day at work. Boss is on my ass!"
Pitchers- Lit up. Pulled in the second by the Manager.
Fantasy- Hate this guy

Real Life- "Working from home today!"
Pitchers- Home start
Fantsy- Play him

Real Life- "Crap, have to go to Denver to pick up parts"
Pitchers- Throwing at Coors
Fantasy- Bench him

Real Life- Transferred to Denver
Pitchers- Traded to Colorado
Fantasy- Dropped

Real life- "I'm sick today and won't be coming in"
Pitchers- "I'm sick today, I'm missing my next start"
Fantasy- Benched for a week

Real Life- "My arm hurts, but I'll still work"
Pitchers- "My arm hurts, going for an MRI"
Fantasy- Who's on faab?

Real Life- "Surgery, should only miss two weeks"
Pitchers- Surgery- "See you in 14 months"
Fantasy- Dead to me
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

According to SNY website Darling will be back...I haven't seen or heard of Darling leaving Mets TV team. Here is my Ron Darling story: I was at Giants tailgate and saw Darling walking through parking lot. Stopped him to talk and he told me a story about the late and greatest Bob Murphy. The team was in San Diego and Darling was walking through hotel lobby in wee morning hours. He hears repeated ding...ding...ding and can't figure out what it is. He walks over to elevators, and sees Murph passed out stone cold drunk in the elevator preventing door from closing.

Oh those Mets...."a little bit torn".

Report: Mets' Zack Wheeler dealt with torn tendon last season

Mets pitcher Zack Wheeler underwent platelet-rich plasma therapy twice this offseason due to a torn tendon in his elbow, Newsday reports.
Wheeler had been cleared to continue pitching last season despite chronic pain caused by what the team called inflammation of the tendon. However, a source said the tendon was "a little bit torn," per the report.

Wheeler has been diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament. He was scheduled to meet with the team doctor Wednesday to determine whether to undergo Tommy John surgery to repair the elbow.
