Think there is a rule against three co managers at the draft table.

I'm ok with it as long as you pay another co fee ;)
John do you think the two of them could draft a team that would beat Big Dog?

Chest,

As a thrice-veteran of the supportive husband role, my advice would be to KDS the seat closest to the bathroom, draft spot be damned. Congrats and Good Luck!

Is this being played out or just a mock? If it's being played out, my money's on Eligrimmet. Nice team so far.

Hopefully by next season I will have my strategy tweaked just enough so I can compete in the main, I don't plan to join just to fare so, so, that's why I am just getting my feet wet with the satellites. Won last year, hope to again this season. BTW, will you be in Tampa again this season?? yes I will be in Tampa- my lovely wife will be my drafting partner in 07- a pregnant wife at the draft with me it should be interesting when she asks me to go get her some pickles and a candy bar in the middle of the 3rd round.

Good luck in all your sats and the main event.
CONGRATS!! First, Second, Third, Fourth child?? When is she due? My wife is pregnant as well, due date around July 7th. Been telling people I hope he/she arrives on the 4th so I can save some money on his/her first 4-5 birthdays. ;)

I would agree with that. Most leagues are won late. I just think the base he has built so far really lends itself to winning. If he doesn't do well later it all doesn't matter. Nice start though.

Decent start, but I doubt Dye will prove to be worth the first pick of the 3rd and Rivera is on the decline, regardless of what you Yankee fans think :D . Eli's later picks is what made his team good, IMO he got some major value in the teen rounds.

Here's my active lineup if anyone wants to bash. I missed nearly every player I REALLY wanted, which kinda made me angry (even at the 2/3 pick!) Oh well, I tried to adjust as the draft went on.

Chad Tracy

Jeff Francoeur

Milton Bradley

Brad Hawpe

Edwin Encarnacion

Jhonny Peralta

Bengie Molina

Ty Wigginton

Ronny Paulino

Corey Hart

Kevin Kouzmanoff

Mariano Rivera

J.J. Putz

Chris R. Young

Felix Hernandez

John Patterson

Rich Hill

Orlando Hernandez

Jarrod Washburn

Jake Westbrook

I'd be pretty happy with Rollins and Dye myself at that point. My opinion stands. I like your team. It mat be a touch short on K's and sb's. The outfield is a little weak. The parts may be better than the outcome as you took a lot of players I like. It's how they fit together though that's more important. El Duque can't be counted on and Washburn is mediocre and can be taken in the mid 20's in most drafts. Like the rest of your pitching very much.

Not a bad team, i would give it a B.

BAVG, looks like it should be alright.

POWER looks pretty good , will need Hart and another big year from Dye.

SPEED is weak, after Rollins not much.

CLOSER two solid closers

What i dont like, Washburn and EL Duque could be done and Westbrook doesnt get K'S.

Peralta isnt someone i would want, horrible bavg and he's never stolen a base.

Wiggington is someone i like , but so many players and only so many places to play, if he gets at bats , thats huge.

CATCHERS two good ones.

Last , how much will Kouzmanoff play.

Would like to see the bench.

I was thinking that my K's might be okay, but that I would indeed be a little short on steals - unless Rollins backs up his claim about stealing more bases this year. Also thought I might be a few short on W's.

Can anyone past round 20 really be counted on? There were a few pitchers I wanted late that I liked a lot, but they disappeared right before my eyes! I'll have to jump a little bit sooner in the big show.

No, no, no - you do NOT want to see my bench! Haha.

El Duque, Westbrook, and Washburn were in rounds 21, 22, and 23. Who are some other pitchers that I could be looking at in those rounds who might fare better?

First I hate to disagree with Shawn. I've looked at his teams and he's about the best there is. I think your closers are hoping for the best. All could be the guy. None may start out that way. Maybe none end up there. You may finish ahead of Eli on steals, but not ahead of many others. other than being weak in 2 cats, your team looks very good. Gotta like your outfield. starters are solid, especially first 3. Nice C's and I like your 2b guys. Both of them. You've got a shot at the money if you can survive 2 weak cats. 1 of which could turn out.

As for Wood you will know by the time we draft, Dempster isn't the anwser.

both players are not being drafted in any league.

Someone has to start for Marlins in CF.

I think Sanchez has a realistic shot at winning the CF job this spring.. Could be 30 sb's. worth a late pick.

Zumaya 30 - Probably not. First Jones has to come unglued and then he has to outpitch Rodney

Wood 30 - Definitely not - even in Dempster doesn't hold the job (and everyone said that last year, Wood will be injured long before he has a chance for that many.

Shields 11 - that is possible

Sorry 70 is not possible from those pitchers - even if you got 30-50 it might not get you more than the three or so points you will get because a couple of other teams bagged saves (of course that means you are not as likely to dominate W or K)

Shields 11 sorry shawn. todd jones will close unless he's dead. over/under on Zumaya is 12. Zumaya might turn out to be the biggest overvalued bust of the non-closing RP on draft day.

wood can't close anything until he's completely healthy. his over under is at 8.

shields will pick up a garbage 5 saves.

Grabbing a "closer-in-waiting" in the NFBC is much like taking Jerious Norwood or Brandon Jacobs in the NFFC -- it's going to cost you a fairly high pick, and the odds are fairly high that you'll get nothing out of the selection.

Do I have a chance vs ELI? KIMMMOOOOOOO

It's a pretty good team. I think you went a little heavy on OFs to start the draft -- as a result, your infield is probabaly the weakest group in this league. Your Top 3 starters are going to need to carry your Bottom 3 (which very well could happen), and you'll need some magic in the saves department.

Should be competitive, but not sure if you have the firepower to match Eli.
