Fantasy Pros' Draft Wizard had me and George tied with 110 points. Who am I to argue with a computer!!

They set the timer at 30 seconds per pick and we finished 23 rounds in 2 hours. For a while there I thought this was going to be the next new innovation in the NFBC, until we got to about Round 10 and I had no clue where any of the players being drafted were located on my Cheat Sheets. It kept going faster and faster and they were picking people in the 300's!! I'm convinced a 12-team draft at 40 seconds per pick could be a fun time, but 450 picks in 2 hours was too much. I admit I lost some players who I thought had been drafted, but I'm sure I wasn't alone. Sheesh.

I didn't like this team as much, but I have no idea what anyone else's team looked like. This went too fast to ever check the draft board. I'll do that tomorrow. Time to go home now.

Altuve 21st AFTER Dee Gordon? What did I miss?
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

Is there a non zero % chance the NFBC could one day move to OBP instead of AVG? I'm sure that suggestion is blasphemy to many people in the community but it obviously is a better indicator of how good an offensive producer someone is. I would be highly in favor of it, I think it is frustrating to watch games and when one of your guys takes a walk feeling like you really didn't get much for it. Thanks

It's been talked many times before. The Tout Wars Mixed Draft I did last week had OBP and it was interesting to see so many power hitters still available later in the draft whose OBP didn't hurt you as badly as BA. Guys like Mark Teixeira and even Pedro Alvarez aren't so bad with OBP. I think the concept of OBP makes sense -- heck in regular 5x5 we aren't including walks -- but I actually think it changes the dynamic of drafting power.

We're definitely not ready to change BA to OBP and I haven't heard much of a clamor for it in recent years, but feel free to sell the reasons for it. We'll listen.

Fell drastically to me late in the second round in the Tout draft last week. Something about him industry guys don't like apparently.

What the heck, I'll post my 15-team roster from last night. With the 4th pick I knew it was blasphemous not to take Clayton Kershaw, but I just took him 7th in Tout Wars and I knew this group would lay off Starting Pitchers. I was convinced that Scherzer or Sale would come back to me in the 2nd round of this 15-team draft and then I could add him to a young talent like Carlos Correa. Sure, taking Correa at 4 seems high, but what the hell.

Sure enough Sale came back to me in the 2nd round and Archer was there in the 4th round. I know that taking a catcher early isn't ideal, but when Buster Posey was still there at 34 I couldn't resist. Then I added Salvador Perez in the 8th round just to pound the hell out of Catcher in this 15-team format. Take the edge at that position, what the hell.

At 30 seconds per pick it was impossible to keep up with everything. I definitely lost track of some Starting Pitchers late in the draft. I would have taken Smyly or even Iwakuma over Julio Teheran (not a good pick), but my rotation turned out okay and I doubled up at closer early. I laid off Outfielders far too long, but we'll see what happens there. DeShields could help in speed and I think Tomas has a good year. I continue to say that Tyler Glasnow will be this year's Noah Syndergaard, so I nabbed him again.

Anyway, enjoy:

C - Buster Posey
C - Salvador Perez
1B - Eric Hosmer
2B - Howie Kendrick
SS - Carlos Correa
3B - Nick Castellanos
CI - Mark Teixeira
MI - Francisco Lindor
UT - Kendrys Morales
OF - Corey Dickerson
OF - Delino DeShields
OF - Yasmany Tomas
OF - Avisail Garcia
OF - Jayson Werth

P - Chris Sale
P - Chris Archer
P - Steven Matz
P - Julio Teheran
P - Jaime Garcia
P - Tyler Glasnow
P - Jared Eickhoff
P - Trevor Rosenthal
P - Hector Rondon

Reserves: J.A. Happ
Michael Taylor
Taylor Jungmann
Jace Peterson
Martin Prado
Mark Canha

Thoughts?

Somewhere in Colorado, Dan Kenyon just spit up his Doritos! :D

Don't worry. Tehran will be your anchor and is primed to win the 2016 Cy Young.

Hi Greg/Tom,

I love the new Cutline format this year, it should be very interesting!

I have noticed that several rosters do not have any catchers in the Cutline format; therefore, having an illegal lineup. Do these owners need to drop players before the season starts, or do they get zero points for the first scoring period (before the first FAAB period)?

Thanks

All teams must have legal starting lineups when their drafts end. Email us the names of people and the league if anyone did not follow that requirement. Thanks.
