I will begin to process all refunds for the party this evening for those of you who have not already previously contacted me who I may have taken care of to date. I cannot begin to express the level of massive disappointment and borderline depression I'm experiencing as a result of the NY and especially the Las Vegas NFBC events having to be cancelled. One of the things that I look forward to most each year is seeing all of you, and getting to
meet all the new people who I have never met before other than via DM's, texts, calls, drafts, etc. The amount of time, energy, and emotion (not to mention money) I have invested in the NFBC and all the drafts and events that I have worked on to promote and fill for the last six months has been immense as always. And to have everything now be for naught is just indescribable. The more I talk and write about it, the more frustrated, aggravated, and upset I get about it all. Hopefully there will be baseball, and hopefully there will be drafts including live events somehow, someway. But for now, it's just the agonizing wait and see approach as we are all at the mercy of all this insanity going on right now. Until then, be safe and be well.

Mike, I didn't get a chance to reply to your text yesterday, but let me say publicly here that I feel your emotions. Like me, throwing a party or cool live event is a thrill and a rush for me. I know it is for you too as anyone can run an online contest or compete in online drafts. But it's being the host of a cool live event or a cool live party that just is so special.
And we really had the MTM Ultimate League set up as high profile as ever with SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio planning 4 hours of coverage and promoting on air throughout the week. They were excited to interview defending champion David Einhorn and for the first time this year Tout Wars wasn't starting until Saturday, so a lot of industry writers wanted to pop in and watch part of this league. Heck, they even had our room ready to go when we got to the Stewart Hotel, so it was like going to a wedding reception and the bride took off before the vows!!
And we basically got the last Lake View Penthouse Suite at the Bellagio, which was a stroke of luck as you had a record number of NFBC guys scheduled to attend there at the Bellagio. It's just amazing that we went from "game on" to NCAA Tournament CANCELLED in like 24 quick hours. And it's even more amazing that we have no idea when life will get back to normal again.
As I said in another post, never say never. I can't promise a live Ultimate League yet this year and we have no idea if the Stewart even has space on whenever the hell MLB starts up again, but let's all just be vigilant and flexible. We'll see what comes out of this. Let's get some truthful facts about this virus, let's tackle it with all the might a world super power has and let's kill this bastard. Then we can play ball.
So once again, as much as you and I go back and forth on rules discussions, league discussions, event discussions, promotion of our contests, etc., and even though most times it results in butting heads, let me publicly say THANKS from Tom, Darik, myself and management for all the effort you put into these two events. You had them set up perfectly and we were ready to host them. Record numbers in New York City and Las Vegas in our 17-year history and it's now all for naught. Hopefully we can still draft this year and next year we'll all be live again for the MTM Ultimate League and the MTM Midnight Madness. Keep the faith.
