Liriano will surprise. His first start might be a little shaky for obvious reasons but he's going to be ok. His minor league numbers don't matter. He's clearly working on just getting his location back.

On a side note: All this talk about Liriano failing from you makes me think you're using this as a built in excuse in case you lose this year.

"I would have won if my computer didn't.........."

So far, you've thought Soriano would has "ZERO" chance of leading off this year, way wrong, and Liriano is going to need 4-5 starts in the minors because somehow he needs to prove himself down there before being brought up. Amazing. listen - you know 1/10 the baseball knowledge i do (no offense meant). feel free to think that when i post i do so with my hand on the bible.

liriano's minor league results this year are consistent with his performance today. the triple A royals roughed him up. u must be the only one with his head buried in the sand. :D

crazy - where's your analysis of liriano's game? total crap, JUST LIKE I SAID. he won't throw his slider as much or with the same intensity. WITHOUT THAT he is just another lefthander. hopefully his value will be above waiver wire quality, but i can't be certain at this point.

Liriano started tonight's game 1-2-3 with two strikeouts - wonder if GG is still saying "poor ME" or is high fiving his TV? ;)

Francisco Liriano walked five batters while surrendering three runs in five innings Friday in a loss to the Indians.

Liriano has neither the velocity nor the command that he did before Tommy John surgery. If the command comes back soon, then he still has enough on his pitches to succeed. However, as is, he simply isn't very good. The Twins might opt to send him back down once Kevin Slowey is ready to go.

He should return to his All-Star form in the 2nd half.

I would love to see him dropped in ANY of my leagues, what a gift that would be.

I've already said it many times. You'll get 4 "Liriano" months. You have to be patient. You can't jump ship everytime one of your starters has a bad start. It's a long year. Many ups and downs, hopefully more ups.

It's tough coming back from Tommy John, how many months has it been? 17? Usually takes 18 to full recover. He'll be fine. Trust me. ;)

Oh, and if Liriano doesn't work out, you can always buy a new computer.

missing on one early player likely ruins an owners chance at the 100K. i swung and missed on this one. everyone will be seeing liriano in the free agent pool earlier than they thought.

"Francisco Liriano has looked absolutely horrible today. He has absolutely no control, and for the most part he doesn't seem to have a fluid motion at all. I don't know if the Twins are messing with how he's throwing, or if he's just off his game, but it's not pretty and it doesn't look like he's going to last long. There has been some suggestion that Liriano should go back to the minors, and I was against that approach through his first two starts back -- I expected him to struggle, and thought he showed improvement from game 1 to game 2. What I'm watching now, though, is brutal. He looks completely lost. He's getting pounded because he can't find the plate and I assume he's just trying to throw balls over the plate at this point."

Liriano belongs in the minors and I expect he will wind up there when Slowey comes off the DL soon. The man has not pitched for a year and a half and he had little experience before his injury. It baffles me that so may people are surprised at this outcome. Gve him a month or two at Rochester to rebuild his confidence and then we will see a truer picture of what Liriano can do.
