[/QUOTE]Wow I thought he was a legit .320 hitter. Since I don't have him this year, I hope your projections end up closer than mine...although I'm afraid he still has plenty of time to hit .330 with 35 HR, 130 rbi.

Anyone else think Braun will be a top 5 pick next year?

i was reading before the draft about miggy not being able to handle being "the man". him signing this big contract probably has him in line for a .260-.270 season with 25 homerums.

if only braun didn't come down with that "achilles" injury right before the draft, he woulda been mine. i didn't have the guts to take an unproven guy with a possible injury. i tried to take the "money in the bank" player and look where it got me. F'ing disgusting.

Maybe the slow start will convince Leyland switch Sheffield and Cabrera in the 3 and 5 spots - Cabrera is the key to their season - and hitting in front of Magglio is the way to get him going.

He goes from being THE MAN to being one of the guys.

He goes from one league to another.

He goes from a team with a nonchalant attitude to a no-nonsense team.

He gets a boo-boo the first week.

Its come a little too easy for Cabrera since he got to the majors, a time for struggle may be a good thing for him in the long run.

The talent is there, as soon as he wraps his head around the changes and adjusts, he'll go back to being a hitting machine.

I think Miguel and the whole Tigers team will do some good to get out of Comerica. They haven't played well at all there. A change in scenery should change some stats up for the better because lord knows they can't be any worse.

i wouldn't worry about detroit. when you are facing 3 studs like contreras ,gavin floyd and buerle- what do you expect. like i said before- worry about leyland. the cell is now no smoking. i really think he could have a breakdown when they come to chi town- esp if bonderman and willis are on the hill.

Is it just me or does that Chisox lineup look like it will be dominated by good pitching and the type that will murder mediocre and bad pitching? We should call those type guys Andruw's after Andruw Jones.

chest- there are a lot of line ups like that- so ya i agree. but we are much improved. last year we couldn't hit good, average or bad pitching. we do have 4 guys that will gladly take a walk- so when we face willis- that is 8 walks over the 1st 5. all he had to do was throw thome a strike- pretty much couldn't do it. sox division could be pretty fun- not sold on cleveland either. sabathia is not exactly lighting it up.

You looking for sympathy or what? I am amazed you have the balls to write this with a straight face. Oh well, at least you keep the message boards busy. By the way, Liriano won't be the star you might think this year but he will be worth keeping. You are in the 30 so far so it can't be all bad.

MIGGY WILL UNDERPERFORM (MAYBE BY A LOT).

I NEVER HAD LIRINAO AS A STAR THIS YEAR.

Miggy has two things going against him for this season. He changed leagues, and he is a young player attempting to justify a big contract.

And I bet Miggy rather play in the warmth of Florida than the cold in Detriot. He will be fine, there are no 1st RD busts this year. Believe me the 1st rd will not win this thing. Nor the 2nd rd guys. From then on is your true draft imho.

Kudos to those guys that got

Cueto

Volquez

McClouth (Kid is fun to watch play another Lenny Dykstra, imho) Plays hard.

Kuroda

Millwood (So far so good)

This type of mid to late round talent is what will get you there. Wish I had any of these guys. Waited to long for Nate.

Rick, you generally have great knowledge and feel, but you are a little off base on this one - Murphy has nowhere near the potential of Byrnes (and no Shag Wagon).

Yes he has moved from fourth OF to a regular, but his upside even with full time AB is low double digit HR and SB without many RBI or R.

C'mon guys...easy on Mr. Gekko.

Don't you all know that if you own a player...and he is playing poorly...rip him a new on on the MB, and they start to rake!

As an example...I was looking up Salty's minor league numbers (nice), and comparing them to Lairds major league number (horrible) a couple days ago. I then ripped Laird on a local league MB...and BAM...Laird hits 2 HR and drives in a million runs.

The opposite is bragging up a player you own...followed by a DL trip.

320 AB, 46/8/45/6/.292

Reminds me a lot of Chris Shelton, only with no power...

Worth a $4 bid

Mr. Washington does strange things as noted before, and for some reason, Mr. W likes this guy.

There's not much down side risk here. He's a .280 hitter at worst in that stadium with 15-85 upside.

I'd roll the dice if I had the need, just like we did with Blackburn today.
