No check here, either. If they went out Friday you would think it would have arrived by today.

No doubt about that. For nobody (not a one) to get a check today means they almost suredly did not go out on friday. On the positive side we now have something to look forward to on thursday :)

The problem is Greg had said earlier that the company ONLY mails checks out on Friday's. If it didn't go out this past Friday and they don't mail out on Monday's-Thursday's, well, you can figure it out.

Gentlemen, and I'm primarily directing this to those who are first time winners, don't sweat it. There's obviously a glitch here, but put your trust in Greg and Tom. In a worst case scenario they'll pay it out of there own pocket :D Seriously though, I'm not sure what the problem is but I'm pretty sure it's not the Post Office. Believe me I know their shortcomings. I and my coworkers complain about them on a daily basis and in my case for the last 25 years. Yes I know the Post Office more than I'd like to admit. That being said, typically if a letter is posted on a Friday, (in this case the 24th) and if it's posted to the city of origin (Cin.) there's an 80% chance it will arrive the next day. Since mail posted on a Friday is in transit the entire weekend (Sat. & Sun.) I'd say conservatively 50% of the mailing should arrive to destinations in the continental U.S.on Monday. By Tuesday 75-90% should have arrived. Unless the Letter Carrier who picked up the mail at the Cin. accounting firm last Friday is now only able to be reached through a PO box in Bimini, I'd have to say that KJ's bet looks pretty good. The PO does not delay 1st class mail under normal circumstance.

I believe that's the nicest thing I've ever said about the Post Office, but rest assured tomorrow I will go back to giving them hell! Of course, anything is possible but there's a high probability that this delay is not due to the PO. Whatever the issue, as I said earlier just relax, trust Tom and Gregg and take the long view on this. Afterall, taking the long view is what earned you this check in the first place ;)

I saw something from Greg in an earlier post about them being "electronically" done on Friday. If they were done in the afternoon on Friday. They are usually processed about 3-5 days depending on where they are going. Since Ohio is pretty centrally located, everyone should have had a date of Thursday as a delivery date if they were done in the afternoon on Friday. So, if none are received tomorrow, then this topic will blow up. Believe me the wife has called me everyday this week around 2pm to ask if the check for $100K has shown up yet

Trust me, nobody wants these checks in your hands more than me. Nobody is more conscious of how important it is to turn around the prize winnings to you folks as fast as possible than me and Tom. We got everything to accounting faster this year than ever before and from what I'm told they got every check out on Friday, Oct. 24th. Late W-9's that came in the mail to us last week were FedEx'd to Cincinnati and I'm told those checks are going out this Friday. We have a half dozen late entries that are being FedEx'd tomorrow to Cincy with the hope of paying those next Friday. So we are on top of this.

But I'd agree, if nobody has received their check as of Wednesday, then something is happening. Please post if they arrive tomorrow or e-mail me as I'll be on a plane to Phoenix. If tomorrow is like today, then I'll ask for answers again. The answers I got yesterday was that they were all mailed out on Friday from Cincinnati.

It's over $970,000 in prizes. I WANT you to have it back!!! I hope they arrive tomorrow.

All I know is my wife never comes home for lunch and she has been home every day this week to check the mail and eat lunch at home. LOL Mike has called each day as well to see what's up. If not here by tomorrow then I would say whoever told Greg they went out on Friday was stretching the truth a little.

Today might be the day. Hang in there fellow winners. It might very well be the "type" of mail that is the issue. I'm not as close to this as I have been in the past, but at one time there was 1st class mail and all the way down to 3rd class and bulk mail. If that still holds true, then 3rd class or bulk mail would take 3-4 days to deliver. At least that's the way it was several years ago as my company always used the cheaper mail for sending out mass mailings (like marketing stuff).

Best to all - Pete

Check is in hand! I live in Cincinnati so the rest of the checks should be there very soon.

Good to see someone from the same city got a check 4 business days after mailing.

For me: Bill Murray's Groundhog Day--a trip to the post office and no check. Let's see about Friday.
