How many Mariners have MORE than 5 saves?
How about the Rays?
Breaks camp with club or first to majors?
Brett Anderson or Trevor Cahill?
Anthony Reyes or Nick Blackburn and why?
With KJ's DC salary league, without seeing the rosters, do you think a $400 club can beat the $1,800 ones?

Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

2. Two
3. Cahill
4. Blackburn. Better win potential and hasn't failed as much as Reyes.
I honestly don't know the rules to KJ's league so I can't answer that question. Sorry but I'm really in the dark on that one.

You see no "Papelbon like" flip flopping with David Price?
Should the Ray bullpen fail miserably or Price not fare so well as a starter...you see no scenario where he closes at some point in the 2009 season?
I know he's the top prospect STARTER...but he sure looked good as a closer last year, and they can protect that arm like they mention with Joba.

We paid for the players with real money. For example, Arod cost $320.....Alex Gordon cost $4.
Johan Santana cost $200
Matt Garza $4
Jorge Posada cost $150
Dioner Navarro cost $4
Other than that, basic NFBC DC league.
Can the Marlins win the against the Yankees in that format?

~Lance I think Price stays in the rotation. I think he has the stuff to be a starter and I think he'll show it from the outset. I think they have some options if Percival isn't ready so there's no need to put Price back in the pen.

~Lance I am betting they give JP a LOOOONG look before they stick Price in that job.

Can the Marlins win the against the Yankees in that format? I don't see why not. But it's hard to speculate without seeing rosters. It's pure guesswork. But in theory I'd say yes because the key to winning any fantasy title is getting good value picks. If you load up with enough of them in this type of league you should be very competitive.

No way....during spring training last season, management thought he was their BEST starter then!
No flip flopping needed with all those arms in the pen.
His ability to consistently place the ball low in the zone is unmatched for his age. I know some thinks he busts this season....it's not going to happen.

~Lance Depends on the wager. They were my pick to win it all last year so if you make that bet I hope you fare better than I did.

I would consider taking both Tampa Bay and Boston. You wash if Bos wins and double up if TB wins...Yankees kill you, but I don't like their team chemistry.
Houston at 15-1 seems like a reasonable long shot small money bet.
I like DET at 4-1 the best.

Good stuff everyone. Now that we have our baseball magazines done for the year, we'll have more time to focus on the boards and generating more discussion and getting everyone fired up for the upcoming season. You're going to see so much of us you'll be sick of us.

What team is it gonna be this year? I think Cleveland - at least on the offensive side has that look this year. Look at that lineup with two comeback-of-the-year candidates in VMart and Hafner and a bunch of guys coming into their age 27 seasons: Sizemore, Peralta, Garko, Shin-Soo Choo and Ben Francisco. Add in a young up-and-comer in Asdrubal Cabrera then top it off with the veteran Mark DeRosa. This team was top 10 in Runs scored without Hafner and Martinez. I think a good case can be made that Peralta, Choo, Francisco, Garko and Cabrera all outperform expectations. Makes me wonder even more why the Tribe didn't go after another veteran arm this off-season.
