Over the past few years, I've thought you were Cindy on the message boards. Have you ever felt the need to express yourself as a female? Can you verify your whereabouts if she makes a sudden appearance on these boards? Would it be wrong for me to ask for her number?

Those guys are all good players in their own right. However, I don’t play AL or NL only auction leagues. Why restrict the players? Makes no sense to me. Those guys excel in those types of leagues and more power to them. I’ve excelled the past two years in the main event. Since those players also play in the main event, where have they finished as compared to me?

Does it bother you that Childs is better than you?

Please explain how that makes you feel?

Seriously though, do u have anyone helping you or giving you nuggets of info? That would help accelerate the learning curve. You re probably a little different than a total newbie as you have played in some satellite leagues last year. Knowing you are a truly smart guy in fantasy football, I think you will be successful in fantasy baseball. This year? Good luck!

GG2, can you compete in pitching categories if you don't take a starter until round 8 or 9?? If not, what would be your concern?

$100,000 and a trophy for winning the NFBC or a winning $200,000 lottery ticket?

Which would you rather have?

i am thinking about drafting just 1 closer this year and letting everyone else draft potential closers in the late rounds while i stock up on hitting and sp potential...am i making a strategic blunder???

do you think shawn childs will be sipping the koolaid on andruw jones again this year and if he makes the team would you draft him??...rumor has it he has lost 25 pounds and looks like jurney from the chicago draft last year...thoughts please two things I learned. First, someone thinks ryan howard should be drafted before poodles. Second, shandler really dislikes top tier catchers. He said mauer is his top catcher and he wouldn’t pay more than $14 for him. His rationale is that top tier catchers rarely ever turn a profit because they play such a grueling position that they get hurt more often or underperform more often. I’ll definitely take a second look at my catcher draft strategy after hearing this. Gotta do a little research on my end first though.

Drafting one closer and loading up on offense and SP. Sounds like a good strategy. I tried it last year and failed in my attempt at 100K. I think having at least two closers on your team by the end of april is a necessity.

For as good as childs is, I don’t know what he saw in andruw! We can all only hope that jones makes the team and childs drafts him again in the 10th or earlier! If he makes the team, I’d consider him in the 20’s.

In draft preparations do you map out your frst 10 selections, your first 20 selection or all selections?

Thanks I don’t have a favorite team. Only favorite players. When I was a kid my favotie team was the pirates and my favorite players were Bill Madlock and Will “the thrill” Clark

I started playing fantasy baseball 2 years ago.

You guys drafted a good mag team right next to me. Kudos. I have a plan to give away the team to a deserving MB poster. I’ll be posting the details this week.

Anyone who has won back to back Main Event league titles and finished Top 5 overall can easily call themselves a GREAT player. If you had just asked him if he wanted to be considered the GREATEST player of all - then that might have given more validity to your question.

GG- Thanks for taking the time to answer some questions. For a first time Main Event competitor- give me some quick do's and don'ts for draft day.
[/QUOTE]Do’s

Imitate the good players

Spend double the amount of prep time you think you need to spend

Have the balls to make key decisions

Don’ts

Come to draft day without a plan

Put any weight on magazine rankings

Be in my league

I think I already know the answer to this one. Do you feel you have to compete in auctions, ultimates, supers to be considered one of the best. My feelings are there is nothing wrong with being great at one type of event. it's tough for a few days bobby. but the writing is one the wall for at least a few weeks so i can kinda see it happening. i'm just thankful for the season i put in.

like Tiger says, come Sunday I just want to put myself in a position to win. i have done that the past two years but failed both times. maybe the third time is the charm.

if i was rich, i'd join all the auctions, ultimates, and supers. unfortuntaley this economy sux for everyone (including me).

Will you implement the "DL strategy" that you adopted last year by starting a DL pitcher only to remove him on Friday to exploit matchups, additional news, avoiding bad matchup early in week? If so, do you recommend this for other players??

Also, given the $260 budget, what is the target for pitching? $80-$85?? i haven't played in an auction for a few years, so i'm still working on my strategy. i imagine it will cosists of:

1. price enforcing

2. a balanced team

3. probably around $90+ on pitching

the lack of a response to my question tells me that you know you will never be the "greatest" fantasy player ever due to being afraid to take on the NFBC's best in the AL or NL only auction format.

Jason and I have for years suggested a $200-/60+ split
