Hmmm...I only have Motte in the Main Event and on two out of my three Online Championship teams. Time to drink...and I don't drink.

But I guess they could be lumping in non-fastballs into the avg.

Or have a bad radar gun. For every 93, there is an 88 or 89 (must be changeups)

I got it at 93-95. Watching the game live, just doesn't have the command.

Is the MLB Gameday on a free trail, or is it free all year?

I actually like it...it doesn't curse my players so much like live TV and stressing over all the drama each at bat. :D

I am happy to hear that Peavy has is fastball up in the mid 90's. I heard that he added a "cutter to his arsenal. DirectTv won't let me watch the Pads---which isn't such a bad thing. thanks for the updates guys

[/QUOTE]He got jobbed by the hometown official scorer, but still didn't look great. Tejada roped a liner up the middle. Blum hit a soft liner to right which Bradley had to come in on, he slid to a knee to make it look good and the ball bounced right out of the pocket and they gave blum a single. 1st and 3rd and then 2 fly outs and a ground out. Was charged with an earned run, but it honestly shouldn't have been. As a Motte and Gregg owner it was a very disturbing opening day....LOL

Adam LaRoche sums up what a lot of us were saying about Motte before the season, "He throws hard, but he's going to get hit hard if he doesn't find something else to go with it"

Motte was getting those saves in Spring Training against minor leaguers. He's playing with the big boys now and better learn a 2nd pitch.

Motte throws like Ron Jeremy...straight and hard.

Turnbow had the same problem.

A lot of similarities with Turnbow. He didn't have that second pitch either, but got raves on how hard he threw.

Ha!!!!!!

The hedgehog!

In other news...it appears Yahoo sports just pulled some random latin looking players photo and assumed it was K Rod...but to the bet of my knowledge the photo they have is NOT Francisco Rodriguez.

Wrong latin player from Anaheim.

Dan im with you ,i was watching Mottes outing and noticed not a lot of movement on his heater.I hopeim not watching Jesus Colome again.Agreed he needs a 2nd pitch and when your ahead 0 ball's and 2 k's dont give the hitter such a good pitch to hit.

His 1st pitch I thought was going to be caught but it went for a double. Then he had to face 5 lefthand batters in a row. 0-2 pitch to Wilson was a killer to Motte owners. He was just 1 pitch away from his 1st save.

I think being 26 and being nothing short of fantastic the last 2 yrs plus he throws close to 100 and he throws strikes the Cardinals will give him another chance.

40 saves for Motte owners this year.

The avoid stud pitcher theory keeps shining...Lincecum only goes 3 innings. After saying his rhythm was off in ST...his accuracy was off today.

The Royals signed Farnsworth to a 9 million dollar contract to do what he does best.

Today he did what he does best.

Beckett showed the other stud pitchers how to do it in the 1st week.

The list is now:

Lincecum

Webb

Sabathia

Halladay (still got the win b/c see below)

Verlander (98 and straight no workie in the Majors)

Liriano (he wasn't bad, but that Mariners lineup is not good)

Peavy (had the stuff, but didn't locate well. Plus Padres hitters did him no favors)
Winning is not everything, but the will to win is.

The best pitching performance was Beckett and Erik Bedard so far. Bedard's stats are not as good, but if you watched the game...he stuff was so nasty! He had those twins more confused then a wino at a wine cooler.

Follow his performance up with Morrow, from best to worst performance of the year in one game. I think Morrow just had the jitters.

I don't even know what to think about Motte. I hope he is o.k., again...I think just another case of Opening Day jitters. He will be fine, you have to be fine if you can throw 100 mph, don't you?

Did anyone start Brandon Lyon this week?

Did anyone make some bad bench decisions? I know I did.

I started Cliff Lee against in Texas...what was I thinking? O yeah, he was 22-3 last year, thats what I was thinking. He is this years biggest bust is what I know.

Nick Blackburn?....ummm he looked worse than any other pitcher this year.

Verlander...come on? Against the Bluejays? What are you going to do against the Yanks and Redsox? I thought you would give me a quality game at the least!

These message boards need more action...come on guys, it's the 1st week of ball. ;)
