Wayne Barber of Palm Springs, California is VERY interested in the $5K NFBC Ultimate Auction League and we've added him to the list. That gives us a total of 19 between the two leagues as we are shooting for one of both. Still plenty of time to make that happen. Thanks Wayne and we'll see you in Las Vegas.

Eddie G! How are things in RI? Yeah, this should be very entertaining--looking forward to sharpening my pencils and getting ready for 2005.

Football has gone very well. Let's just say I'm not in the driver's seat, but I'm sitting RIGHT NEXT to him. Don't want to jinx anything, so I'll reserve comment until next week.

See you on the boards, and of course, in NY this March.

Ken, you are definitely the Ultimate fantasy baseball player. We will add you to the Auction list and continue to try to get one NFBC Ultimate Auction League and one NFBC Ultime Draft League and host them on Sunday, March 20th with a morning draft time. Should be fun and we'll make this work hooking up participants from multiple cities if needed.

C.C.'s Desperados is throwing their hat into the ring for the NFBC Ultimate Auction League as we are now getting closer and closer to making that one a reality. Shawn Childs and Kevin Deckel have won NFBC and NFFC League titles and are SERIOUS players, and in fact won the NFBC AL Auction League title as well last year. Thanks guys for joining at this point and hopefully we can make this league a reality.

Jesse Herron is interested in the NFBC Ultimate Draft, but his place is tentative right now, as is everyone else's. But he wanted to throw his hat in the ring before this thing closes up. We've added you to the list, Jesse, and we'll see how this plays out, but right now we have 11 for the Draft and 12 for the Auction. We're getting there.

Let's keep the NFBC Ultimate sign ups coming!

A $5,000 entry fee for one league with the winner taking home enough for a Lexus???

Right now there are 10 for the Draft, let's get that puppy filled to 15! :D

Greg, I believe I'll either do this on my own or with Jim Hoffstetter but you can mark at least one of us down for it (possibly both)

Thanks ;)

Greg, it would seem as if you've got enough interested parties to proceed here. Several owners, including myself, have shown interest in either the draft or the auction.

Let's get this bad boy going!

Count me in as well. I'll do the draft or an auction. But I do feel an auction would be much more enjoyable with all bidders present as oppossed to a tele-conference.

Guys, I have every intention of going forward with one NFBC Ultimate Draft and one NFBC Ultimate Auction. We certainly have enough interested parties to move forward. Right now I am securing space at each hotel for Sunday so that we can host the live drafts, which doesn't seem to be a problem in any of the cities. Then we'll work out the starting time between us, figure out how many guys from each event are in each city and make this work. I have no intention of charging anyone's credit card at this point, but I'll contact each of you individually pretty soon to make sure you are committed to this and then away we go. Teleconferences aren't ideal, but I know we can make them work if we have to, especially with the draft. The auction is a little more complicated, but we've done them before so I know we can make them work.

Thanks for making this possible guys and let's keep the signups coming.

By the way, I had planned to do nothing but sit in the Rio sportsbook all day Sunday and bet on anything that moves on the big screens above me (dogs count, too). This is going to cut into my fun time, but I'll do it for you guys!!! It's the least I can do. :D

They most definitely would, so everyone who has told me "auction or draft" will have to decide which one they want pretty soon. That's why I said I'd call everyone soon to get more details on their choice for the Ultimate Leagues.

Everyone should realize that we'll likely have teleconferences for both the auction and the draft. Most of the owners seem to be in Las Vegas, but we certainly have some in New York and even a couple in Chicago. I'm not concerned about how this will work, but everyone should realize this ahead of time. Maybe next year we'll be able to complete a full Ultimate League in each city!!!

Okay, I've added Dyv to the NFBC Ultimate Draft League and Terry Haney to the NFBC Ultimate Auction League, giving us a total of 25 owners between the two events at this point. Several owners have said they would do the auction or the draft, so it's obvious we're close to filling one for sure and likely both. I have no intention of filling more than one of each, so first come, first serve.

Just so everyone knows, it's inevitable that we'll have phone hookups for each event between New York and Las Vegas and possibly even a Chicago owner or two. I'm not concerned about how that will work, but everyone should be aware of that. Also, the starting time will be different for everyone as I'm shooting for a morning start in Las Vegas. Can we do these at 1 p.m. in New York, noon Chicago and 10 a.m. Las Vegas? That's the tentative plan now.

Keep the signups coming and we'll finalize these soon.

Brad Feinberg is so excited about joining the NFBC Ultimate Auction League that he gave me his credit card to make sure he had a spot in that debut event. We now have 14 guys who have said they are willing to compete in the Auction League, leaving us with one spot open. It may be time to officially make this happen, guys. Whatta say?

3 Spots left for $5K mixed league draft? 1 Spot left for $5K mixed auction?

Greg, I'd like to propose that all the fellas who participate in the '05 Ultimate be given first rights to their spot in the '06 Ultimate Auction and Draft. I think for $5K it would be nice to know I'd have a spot reserved for like the first week or 2 of sign-ups for '06.

You da Man!!!!

Guaranteed Aaron and I'll even try to do better than that. I'll try to drum up some national publicity for this Ultimate event and see if we can let the rest of the country know just how serious all of our players are. This should be a fun, fun weekend.

Just a note that our lineup may change slightly as we ask guys to officially sign up for the Ultimate Leagues. Eric Peden, who originally proposed this idea, has officially entered the Draft, switching from the Auction League. So I think we're back to having two spots open in the Auction League, which is fine. Thanks Eric for suggesting this league and you are good to go now for Sunday's Ultimate Draft League.

James Bores won $5,000 in our NFFC event and he wants to "reinvest" that in the NFBC Ultimate League. He is tentatively listed in the Auction League, but may move to the Draft League. He's also competing in the NFBC's main event and is tentatively set for New York, but may switch to Las Vegas for both of these. Either way, James is in and we're glad to have him.

Michael Fishman has just thrown his hat into the ring for the NFBC Ultimate League on Sunday, March 20th and he believes he knows of one other player who would like that final spot. By my count, we have 14 committed to the Auction League and 13 to the Draft. Once we hit 15, I'll call everyone to get their full commitment on either the Draft or Auction and make plans to close this out. Thanks everyone.

Okay, King of Queens has decided once and for all to switch back to the NFBC Ultimate Auction League, which would give us 16 teams for that league, one more than we had anticipated. I will contact each of the 16 on the list below today and try to get firm confirmations from everyone and then report back to the group. Some of the 16 have mentioned a preference for either the auction or the draft and we'll do whatever they want and analyze the numbers after this. If we lose someone to the Draft League or for other reasons, I'll report that as well.

Brett Washburn also is officially in for the NFBC Ultimate Draft League, giving us at least 11 owners there (Emmett Ruland can't make it now). Here is the list of owners for this debut Sunday, March 20th auction and draft I have so far. You can confirm here or wait for my call if you'd like. Thanks everyone and let's fill up the Draft League and get those draft picks set.

NFBC ULTIMATE AUCTION LEAGUE LINEUP:

1. Science69

2. Lajolla (or draft)

12. Terry Haney (or draft)

13. Brad Feinberg
