Glenn We're waiting for a quote for Friday from Citi Field. I thought we'd have it today, but it didn't arrive. Our hope is to stay there, but we need to see the charges first.

Sunday will be at a nearby hotel because we may need phone hookups. The Mets offered to host our Ultimate League in the clubhouse and to allow our members to take batting practice as well. They could sit in the dugout after the draft. It all sounded so damn cool until we heard the price tag. Then we just said "thanks, but no thanks." But pretty damn cool, huh?

We should know more soon but it's likely we'll stay near Citi Field if possible for all. We're waiting on a few price quotes, though.
Ughhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!

You shoulda signed on the dotted line for the clubhouse/batting practice deal!!!

C'mon Greg....get back in there and negotiate! ;)
I thought I was negotiating with Scott Boras when I heard that price!! :D But we'll see, maybe things will fall into place. Then how cool would it be for an Ultimate League in New York?!!! :D Yeah, baby.
I hear ya....cost has to be a factor.

But let me tell you....if you can somehow make this happen, please don't even bother waiting for me to mention it again, just immediately put me down as your first New York Ultimate League signup....I'd be absolutely in.

Keep up the great work!

We're working hard on this one and after meeting with the Mets I think they want to make this happen too for Friday. This doesn't hurt them to have die-hard baseball fans in their stadium having fun and looking forward to the season ahead. Stay tuned. With any luck, we'll have a final say on where Friday's events will be held soon.

One more NFBC Christmas present for our members: I feel confident in saying that we'll be at Citi Field for ALL three days. The Mets have worked with us to host 12 hours of drafts all three days and we should be updating the schedule very soon. I'm very excited -- as is Ryan who negotiated this contract -- with this news. The Promenade room overlooking Citi Field from the third base dugout side is FANTASTIC for Friday and Sunday and will be a great background for the Double Play, Auction Championship, Super and Ultimate Leagues. To pay $500 to draft in the Double Play at Citi Field and have a chance to win $85,000 is a bargain for sure. More details to come, but I didn't think we could pull this off but we are very close now. Happy holidays!!!

Thanks for the Christmas gift Ryan & Greg....as a lifelong Mets fan, I couldn't ask for anything better for a draft site.

Another great job....

It'll be interesting to see how much higher Jason Bay's adp is at CitiField, compared to other venues.
On my tombstone-

Yo, couldn't you find a site where they put a quality team on the field--was Citizens Bank Park not available? Will physicians knowledgable with the Heimlich maneuver be on site in case drafters start choking (it's contagious, you know...)? Will leagues that draft from there be in the "Losers bracket"? Have you secured extra rooms in Vegas due to the expected decreased demand for New York this year? Can Omar Minaya be in my league? Please?

Okay, I'm proud to announce that we will be at Citi Field for ALL THREE DAYS on March 26-28. Our trip to New York paid off handsomely as we were able to meet face-to-face with our Mets' contacts and they did a fantastic job making this work economically for all three days. Friday and Sunday will be held in the Promenade Room at Citi Field, overlooking the field from upstairs behind the third base dugout. It's a sweet, sweet view.

We actually have the rooms all day, so I've slightly adjusted the Friday, March 26 schedule. We didn't think we'd have time to offer three Double Plays in New York, but I know that everyone's schedules are different out there so we are now offering Double Plays at 10 am, 2 pm and 5 pm. I don't think you'll get done in time to do back-to-back Double Plays, but by spacing them out someone could do an early Double Play and an Auction Championship at 4:00. The 2:00 time was added for anyone who likely just wanted to do that one or wanted to do a 10 am and 2:00. Those drafts are 12-teamers, so they shouldn't take more than 3 hours or 3 1/2.

Anyway, we'll have auctions and Double Plays on Friday and then again on Sunday at 1:00. We'll also offer the Ultimate and Super on Sunday at 1:00. Times are being adjusted on the Registration pages now and will synch with the boxes on each contest page shortly after the holiday weekend when programmers get back.

I'm excited by this news. We'll have food and non-alcoholic drinks available for all members. We can't serve beer on Friday and Sunday, unfortunately, but we will have beer and cocktails on Saturday. It just doesn't work out for the Mets on Friday and Sunday, but I think we'll survive. Bring a flask with you if you need it!!! :D

Anyway, for a Double Play drafting in that room and competing for $85,000, it might be the best bargain we have. Let's fill those up as we can run four drafts at once in that setting. Could be very cool.

Thanks for your patience all. Contracts were signed and delivered yesterday. We're good to go now.

I'm not sure I'll want to drink on Sunday anyway with so much on the line.....but if anyone else in that league wants to drink.....feel free to get wrecked beforehand.
