Not sure, as I said, he is not a free agent in probably 95% of the leagues.

If V-Mart had been hurt this weekend would Varitek have gone for $100+?

2HR yesterday makes me think yes. I'm a Montero owner and after seeing what Snyder did today I said to myself "Oh Sh#$! Need to go back in and adjust my bid" ;)

Snyder went in our main event league for $180. Nearly 1/5 of FAAB. I just couldn't justify going that high - I thought maybe a $100 or so if you are weak at C. Is nearly $200 worth it?

$339 for Snyder in St. Louis 1. We bid $172 for him and missed by only 50%.

Why bid so much? We have Posey on the bench, free agent C's blow, and Snyder was the potential perfect bridge for 6-8 weeks until Posey comes up.
just like Heath Bell was a LOCK to get traded last year. puff. nothing.

posey short track record is PCL-based. notice he struggled in AFL. when he does get up to the bigs, i see him underperforming on the power front. just like all the guys who bought the wieters hype last year. more hype than anything

I think Posey will be up before September, but I'd be really surprised if his upside in 2010 is anything more than a few starts a week from June on - unless he plays somwhere else other than C, or someone gets injured, or SF completely falls out of the race by summer. Basically, Wieters in 2009.

How many teams with playoff aspirations turn to a rookie C in the middle of the season?

Surprised that Montero was dropped in 2 of my DP leagues last week. I overpaid for him in both, but am happy to stash him on the bench for two months.

ya, you were probably in one of my leagues... It wasn't known at the time how long he'd be out, and I didn't have anyone else I wanted to drop at the time and I was hearing he might be out for most of or all of the season... and as a catcher, his knees have to be strong so I figured he would get extra time off even for a catcher... all of those reasons led me to drop him, but I do regret it now... oh well...

PS. I'll only remember that for three or four more years ;)
Ahh I remember that too. Less than Dave had a solid team last year... except for that dreaded Saves category!

I will forever hear from my co-manager how I dropped Alexei Ramirez from our team in 2008. Still the worst drop I've ever made.

Which Chicago league are you guys in this year?
