who's gonna pitch the 9th with a 3 run lead... ha well it's a 4 run lead now.
I saw your post on another thread and you mentioned you drafted Storen. I understand that you really want Burnett to fail and Storen to get his job back. Don't worry.. Storen will get his share of saves and he might even be the full time closer by the end of the year, but you need to actually watch the games before making comments... Storen came in with 1 out in the eighth, leading 6-2, in a save situation, since there were 2 runners on. He gave up a run on an out and gave up a run on a wild pitch... but the runs were not charged to him. In the 9th he actually gave up a run, which snapped his Washington record scoreless streak for any pitcher in their history. Bash him all you want, he is their closer right now.
The bases were loaded according to the boxscores, but like you said, you need to watch the games.
I actually watch all of the Phillies games and watched todays game as well... I meant to say 2 runners on that scored, but weren't charged to him... Yes the bases were loaded when Burnett came in (making Burnett's job of getting out of the inning even more impressive). Runs were charged to Clippard... who is horrible. Not sure the point of your sarcasm, but once again, must be another Storen owner.
I was watching the game. remember i'm totally new to baseball - forgive me if i get the terminology wrong from time to time - he was pitching and the scored two runs - i appreciate they are not charged to him. Obviously having drafted Storen I want him to get the gig but all my comments on here are light hearted.

Any time a pitcher enters a game with a lead and the potential tying or leading run on deck and finishes the game without the other team tying or taking the lead in the game, he is credited with a save.

Wait! I never had the perfect draft!
