Willie is a solid little ballplayer...good fundamentals, great teammate. If he actually could get SS elig that would certainly cause me to notice.

However Drew is due back on Friday and Fast Willie may be stuck at 6 (for SS elig) for a while. I have a feeling Gibby will play him as a super utility guy, but until he actually IS eligible at a POS other than OF his value is limited.

You never know with Stephen Drew. He gets dinged all the time, it seems.

Picked Willie up for 4 dollars Have him active this period. Though drew might be back and he wont get SS eligibilty. Even in OF if he becomes full timer, if he leads off what is difference between him and any of the other Judys As a FAAB pick up he could be like what people are expecting of Rajah Davis and if Bourne does not get on base to steal on a crap Astro team, then God Willie is MVP Rajah and Bourne went in rounds 7-9. Sad thing is I have both of them and Willie is kicking butt

All I can say he has been worth the pickup, even for these four days. Maybe we got really lucky and caught the wave right before it crested, but I'll take it.

Gekko,

Great job as usual of trying to drive up the FAAB price of a player to get others to overspend their dollars. You have truly turned this into an art form. It's a masterful play if others buy into the hype and is just another example of how you think "outside the box" in your approach to both drafting your team and your in-season management strategy. However, that being said I,for one, will not be drinking the Bloomquist kool-aid for a guy with a career OBP of .308 and who has had only one season over 251 AB's. Those who already own him, should enjoy the run while it lasts.

FYI - Someone posted on the HQ forums that ESPN's Stephania Bell believes that S.Drew has a sports hernia. If true, REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEV up the FABB engines. Bloomer...FAAB pickup of the year.

40 posts on this guy - amazing. but really 30 and the other 10 are jack batting himself on the back. he needs willie because he has the new jd drew- stanton on all his teams. pretty sure willie is not going to hit 40 homers but he now has a better chance than stanton.

I have never batted myself on the back - I'd need at least a 34", 34 ounce ash (no aluminum, I'm old fashioned) to do that and it would hurt.

I can understand why you said that though after my fantastic in-your-face comment yesterday on the telephone. But I still love you.

Concerning Drew...

Shortstop Stephen Drew, who missed the first five games of the season because of a lower-abdominal strain, received his second consecutive start Saturday. But that doesn't mean he's 100 percent.

"I'm still day by day," Drew said. "It feels really good. I want to make sure I don't go backwards.

"It's (discomfort) still there a little bit, but it's manageable."

With most of the faab $ rightfully going to Britton today, don't forget about Bloomer. Drew is dealing with an issue (and the more i read, the more it sounds like a hernia). good luck!
