KLN.....no problem man, we are all entitled to our 2 cents. CATCH up with ya next week Kenny. Safe trip.

I sometimes wonder how Greg puts up with some of the crap? Having taken part in the now defunct WCOFF Baseball League and the service received in the WCOFF football version PRIOR to Dustin and Jesse taking over HAS left me with very little to complain about in regards to the NFBC.

If I've ever had an issue, I drop Greg a note just like Potter mentioned. Doesn't take very long for my issue to be addressed. I may not always like the result, ( the Friday DL Rule ) but I can rest knowing that my $1300 or $2500 or $5000 investment was handled in a fair manner.

I agree with Potter, let's move forward and let Greg concentrate on setting the leagues a week in advance so we can concentrate on draft strategy.

That is the only "context" I'm concerned with at this point. I have yet to read anything that questions Greg or Tom. While some state they can't understand why people are posting questions, comments, and concerns about this, I can't understand why anyone is taking this personally?

Everyone loves and trusts Greg and Tom. Why should that discourage conversation and personal opinion?

There is no fee for a co-owner if you stay home and there is no need to get a back-up battery for a laptop. There is of course no flight and hotel cost. These things can be seen as incentives to do the draft at home. That is fine if it is what you are going for, but I just hope I am not the only one who shows up in Vegas in 2015. I think the live event is great fun. There is a separate online league that fills the void those who want to do it at home. Am I missing something or did we just get more people to come to Las Vegas during a down economy than ever before? And you guys are complaining about selling out because we added an online component? You guys just kill me at times.

Nobody will dispute that the live drafts are THE BEST place to draft. We've used phone connections for five years and this year expanded that technology with the help of MDC.com to make sure anyone who wanted to compete had the chance to do that. Without this addition, we may have settled in at 360. Not bad, but let's get serious. The online component is not replacing the live draft, not in 2015 or even 2025.

I did ask for input and I appreciate most of it. I also appreciate the trust from most of the folks here. But those thinking the worst of this setup or thinking that Tom and I will screw up, don't hold your breath.

Oh, and if one more person wants to jump into the main event, we may have an opening. Contact me or sign up online as we may have a spot open soon. Thanks.

This is the fun part of the job (NOT). Getting these final cards through and finalizing the leagues is always a pain. But we'll still get this all done and have your draft picks by tomorrow. And hopefully some of you will even like your draft spots. ;)

Ken What got my attention was the instance where "concern" and "integrity" were used. From where I'm sitting, that's silly talk. I supoose I am in the minority that believes Greg knows how to handle such matters. And I guess most of you guys think debating your own opinions regarding how Greg should handle this is productive, and non-insulting. And I'm sure I missed it, but I'm not quickly able to find the part where Greg asked for help on this.

I think we all trust that Greg will make a good decision, but don't kid yourself if you think that this discussion won't effect Greg's viewpoint as he weighs his options.

I have faith that the NFBC team will satisfactorily work out the details of the leagues. I participated in the NFBC the first 3 years, but was unable to make it the past 2 seasons. I really missed the live interaction with the 14 other league-mates and I hope that I am again placed in a NY league with 15 seated members.

Replaying to a question from Quahogs.

1) Will there be news posted from MLB during the live drafts? Yes.

2) Would it be easier for someone at home to get earlier access to this news? Yes

Ex. At 2:10 P.M. Nick Swisher breaks his ankle sliding into home. He is drafted in his normal position at the live drafts. Wouldn't you agree that a player could get injured or other news could come out regarding players in the 3+ hours that we are at the live draft?

Keeping in mind, I don't bring a laptop with me to the drafts.

Just one of a few possibilities.

Dan Since when can you not get the same news on a Blackberry, Laptop with Air Card, etc being at the draft or at home. No difference on availability of information.

You can, but I don't have any of those items mentioned above. And I am probably not the only one. It is also more hectic at the live drafts and very few people will be monitoring them, I am assuming.

Also, if the game is televised people at home can get it instantly.

i have my iphone on me at all times... i check it every 15 minutes no matter where im at... so all info will be accessible to me that would be if i was sitting at my house... greg, feel free to put me with phone people, im not gonna put a black cloud over the best event that ive ever been in and that includes how its run... grade A and these people on here questioning "integrity" really need to get a life... greg and tom are the best at what they do and have always been fair in anything they do... some of u people should be ashamed of yourself... im not saying dan, i just responded to alternate ways that i get info and dont miss a beat...

Ok guys, I didn't plan on being a mediator today, but let's stop fighting. If I trust ANYONE to make the right call on these things it is Greg and Tom. The best drafters will do next on the 21st no matter how you arrange them. Also, the league will be won and lost on Sunday nights all season, not at the draft table.

Today is Christmas Eve. The NFBC family can't fight on Christmas Eve! Besides, if we are bad today, Greg and Tom won't let us open our presents tomorrow!

So now I should pay $1300, pay for hotel, Flight to NY, Vegas or elsewhere, other transportation, and then buy a laptop.

Sounds fair.

Is my above mentioned scenerio likely to happen regarding an injury, NO. But it could and that is where the POSSIBLE advantage would come into play. Most likely everything will go as normal. This has nothing to do with draft prep or anything else.

Very much a hypothetical situation that in all likelihood will not happen.

Sounds fair. Danny, you're a good guy, but do you really think anyone is drafting from home for the sole purpose of watching spring training games and getting the latest news during the draft ahead of their competitors? NO. They are doing it because their work schedules conflicted or personal schedules conflicted or because of costs. Nobody is getting an advantage.

Everyone can look at advantages here, there or anywhere. Bottom line is the people making 30 tough choices on Draft Day and then managing their team correctly during the season.

Time to move on from this subject.

Are there advantages to drafting at home? Sure. Are those advantages such that they will make a difference in the outcome of the Main Event? Emphatically no! Can anyone choose to draft online? Yes. Is it possible to please everyone? No.

Dan You're at a disadvantage to people at your table if that's the case ! Never mind being at home. Sorry but I see zero advantage to being at home.

im so pumped about getting my pick and finding out who is in my league. its great. 3rd year in here and ive had virtually no complaints. the most important thing is anytime ive had a question or concern greg/tom immediately shed some light on the situation.

i love it here at the NFBC and I cant wait to get to vegas, get smashed watching ball, waking up a little groggy, and then drafting the best team anyone has ever seen. after that will be the celebration of the draft and more ball.

add in some lovely ladies and whammo! best time of the year.

I haven't been to Vegas since 2004 when we were in our first year. I am actually going out Thursday night before the event for the first time, so I will get more time to talk baseball (and visit the sports book, and play poker).

The room I am staying in got very cheaply upgrade to a Go Room. The flight I booked went UP $200 the day after I made my reservation. I have had numerous long conversations with one of the most knowledgable players, Dave Clum, in Fantasy Baseball. My wife is letting me go to the Den of Debauchery by myself.

The moons are aligning perfectly. It is going to be a great time and a great year.

Beware the Kings!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
