Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Tue Feb 01, 2005 3:44 am

We now have 29 spots filled in Chicago for the main event as Jeff Cooper of Houston, Texas became our newest member of the growing NFBC family. Jeff has been checking out the NFBC for some time and desperately wanted to join us in Las Vegas, but travel costs became a bit high and the trip to Chicago seemed to work out better for him. Jeff will now compete in the NFBC's main event on Saturday, March 19th at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare and we welcome him with open arms. Best of luck, Jeff, in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Homer Charbonneau of Schenectady, New York becomes our first official signup of the AL-only Auction League ($650 entry fee) in New York as we begin to get serious about the auction leagues in the Northeast. Homer is new to our family of high-stakes contests and we welcome him aboard. We'll do all we can to find 11 other owners there, so let's get it going for that Friday afternoon draft. Thanks for your support Homer and best of luck in the hunt for the $3,500 first place prize.

We welcome another new member to the growing NFBC family as Tim Scanlan of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has just signed up for the NFBC's main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th. Tim is new to our family of high-stakes events/contests and we welcome him to the gang. Best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize, Tim, and we look forward to meeting you in New York. Make sure Rocky buys that first drink for you when you need it! :D

I think this nasty winter weather is getting the best of everyone on the East Coast as our die-hard fantasy baseball participants foresake the closeness of New York and head out to Las Vegas for the NFBC's main event. That may be the case with our latest signup as William Burak and Marc Fleisher of Potomac, Maryland have just signed up to compete in the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. William and Marc are new to our family of high-stakes events/contests and we'll find a way to keep them warm in Las Vegas. They become our 96th team in Las Vegas and our 184th overall. Thanks for trusting in us, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Okay, the jig is up on our last signup! :D Sources tell me that Bill Burak won the World Championship of Fantasy Baseball title last year, earning the $30,000 grand prize. We're glad to have him and Mark in the NFBC this year and we wish them best of luck as they try for a second straight national title. Thanks for joining our event this year guys.

Let's give it up for another new member to the growing NFBC family as the tag team of Kevin Bass and Rick Parker of Potomac, Maryland has just signed up for the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Kevin and Rick also competed in the WCOFB last year and annually take a trip to Las Vegas for March Madness. They are new to our high-stakes events, but they certainly aren't newbies to this format. Thanks for trusting in us, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We just received our 12th signup for the NL Auction League ($650 entry fee) at the Rio HOtel & Casino on March 18th in Las Vegas, leaving us one spot left in that debut event. Let's welcome Roy Schneiderman of San Francisco, California, who joins the NFBC for the first time. Roy is excited about competing in this event and would even do a $1,250 NL Auction League if there was enough interest for that league. But for now he's happy to be in the $650 league and ready to compete for the $3,750 first place prize. Thanks for trusting in us, Roy, and good luck in this contest.

We just filled our fourth league in New York for the NFBC's main event with the signup of Daniel Cox of Denville, New Jersey. Daniel will be drafting at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th as he's new to our family of high-stakes events/contests. We now have 60 for the main event in New York and room for another 60, so keep 'em coming. Thanks for trusting and supporting us, Daniel, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're off to a good start in New York as we begin taking signups for a fifth league in the NFBC's main event as Joe Passaro of East Northport, New York has just agreed to participate. Joe is a serious fantasy player who participated in several premium games on CBS Sportsline.com last year, but he likes the higher stakes of the NFBC and the comraderie that comes with it. Joe will be drafting at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th and we wish him best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Joe is also interested in participating in an auction league on Friday, March 18th and has thrown his name in the hat to participate in the NFBC Ultimate Draft League. He wants us to add a second Ultimate Draft League if needed. Well, should we? Thanks again Joe and welcome aboard.

Marc Mauriber and Craig Lisa of Fairlawn, New Jersey have joined the New York Mixed Auction League on Friday, March 18th, joining three other owners right now in that debut event. We have openings for 11 more owners, so keep 'em coming. Marc and Craig are new to our family of high-stakes events/contests and we welcome them with open arms. Thanks for trusting in us, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize.

We're working on that fifth league in New York as another signup just came in this afternoon. Let's welcome David Lionetti, who will be competing in the NFBC's main event at the New York Hilton in New York on Saturday, March 19th. David is new to our family of high-stakes events/contests, so welcome aboard. He is the 188th signup for the main event, leaving us with 112 spots left. Thanks for trusting in us, David, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

The signups for Las Vegas just keep on coming, and from the East Coast, no less. Let's give it up for yet another new member of the growing NFBC family as Albert Petit of Coventry, Rhode Island will be drafting in the main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Albert is new to our family of high-stakes events and we're glad to have him on board. Thanks for trusting in us, Albert, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Oh, the first beer is on me in Las Vegas and right now I sure could use one! :D

Jason Root of North Mankato, Minnesota becomes our newest member of the growing NFBC family as he gathered three other owners to form a partnership. I like it. Jason will be drafting live in Chicago at the Embassy Suites-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th as we begin forming our third league. Jason is new to the NFBC, but he competed in the WCOFB two years ago and is very familiar with our format. Thanks for taking the effort to form a team, Jason, and welcome aboard. Oh, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Our third new signup of the day just came in as Steve Keiran of Louisville, Kentucky has just signed up to compete in the NFBC's main event at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th. Steve is new to our family of high-stakes games, but he followed our baseball event last year and decided to jump in after talking to a friend who was a co-manager in the event last year. Welcome aboard, Steve, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Mike Pisano of Roselle Park, New Jersey is already signed up for the NFBC's main event and today he added the Mixed Auction League ($650 entry fee) to his weekend of fun. Mike becomes the fifth owner for that debut auction league, which will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, March 18th at the New York Hilton. Thanks for supporting us again, Mike, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize.

Andy Grapkowski of Princeton, New Jersey has just signed up for the $650 AL Auction League in New York, becoming our second entrant to enter that debut event. The AL Auction League will be held at the New York Hilton on Friday, March 18th starting at 4 p.m. Andy is new to our high-stakes events, but he said he saw our contest last year and didn't enter because of a scheduling conflict. He's happy to enter this year and looks forward to the auction league. Thanks for your support, Andy, and best of luck in the hunt for the $3,500 first place prize.

I'm glad to see that the signups keep coming in, even on the even of the Super Bowl. Yesterday brought another new member to the growing NFBC family as Dan and Mitzi Kenyon of Grand Junction, Colorado signed up to compete in the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Dan and Mitzi are new to our events and we welcome them to the gang! We are now closing in on our 13th full league overall and seventh full league in Las Vegas. Thanks for trusting and supporting us, Dan and Mitzi, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Okay, I announced this one last week, but I had to delay the official announcement until we had the schedules finalized. Fortunately, the schedules worked in our favor as our 33rd signup for Chicago just came in on Super Sunday. The father-son tandem of Richard and Todd Lepow of Buffalo Grove, Illinois will be competing in the NFBC's main event at the Embassy Suites O'Hare-Chicago on Saturday, March 19th. Todd is doing all of the studying right now and Richard is ready and raring to go as he's looking forward to competing with his son. Richard and Todd are new to our family of high-stakes events, but we welcome them both with open arms. Thanks for trusting in us guys and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

The end of the Super Bowl means the start of the baseball season and thus it's no surprise that we received four NFBC signups last night. Hmmmm, maybe these guys just won their numbers pools!

Anyway, let's give it up for Edward Nolan of Oakdale, Minnesota, who signed up to compete in the NFBC's main event at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th. Edward is new to our family of high-stakes events and we're happy to have him on board. We now have more signups in Chicago for the NFBC main event than we had all last year, so let's fill up that third league and work on more. Thanks for trusting and supporting us, Edward, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have 99 official registrants for the NFBC's main event in Las Vegas as Jason Krieger of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma has become our 122nd returning member from 2004. Jason competed in the AL Auction League ($1,250) and the NFBC's main event last year, with his Blind Threesome NFBC team finishing 7th in Las Vegas League 1 with 89.5 points, just six points out of the money and 61st overall. He's returning for the main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Thanks for your trust and support, Jason, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have more signups for this year's main event than we had ALL of last year as our latest signup is No. 196, the start of our 14th league. Let's give it up for Randall Barbour of Cockeysville, Maryland, who is a first-time member of our high-stakes baseball event. Randall competed in our high-stakes football event last year and had so much fun that he's coming back for the diamonds game. We're glad to have you on board, Randall, although we'll miss you in Las Vegas. Randall and co-manager Mark Bandelin will be drafting in the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th, but he promises a return visit to Las Vegas in September for the football event. Best of luck, guys, in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize and thanks much for your trust and support.

Chris is new to the NFBC, but we like the way he's adding events to his credit card on a weekly basis! :D Anyway, thanks for jumping into the main event, Chris, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Ken Norred of Ashland, Alabama competed in the NFBC and NFFC last year and is one of our most loyal participants. Although he waited a bit to finalize his travel plans, he's coming back to Las Vegas for the NFBC this March and competing in the main event, an auction league and the Ultimate Draft League this year. Ken's KLN Rotomania team finished fourth in Las Vegas League 4 last year, finishing with 92.5 points, just 1.5 points out of third place and 2.5 points out of second place. KLN Rotomania finished 66th overall. In the AL Auction League last year, KLN AL Roto finished ninth with 60 points. Ken becomes our 101st signup for the main event in Las Vegas and our 123rd returning member from 2004. He also has signed up for the $650 Mixed Auction League and is our 16th signup there. He would do the AL Auction League at $650 if there's not enough for a second Mixed Auction League. Oh, and he's also doing the NFBC Ultimate Draft League on Sunday, March 20th. Thanks Ken for all your trust and support and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize, $5,000 league prize, $4,250 Mixed Auction League prize and $40,000 Ultimate Draft League prize.

Steve Taylor of Tulsa, Oklahoma has signed up for the NL Auction League in Las Vegas and REALLY wants to compete in a $1,250 league. We have officially entered him in the $650 NL Auction League right now as our 12th owner in that league, leaving us one spot left in that one. However, four guys in that league would do a $1,250 league and thus we'll keep taking signups and see how this plays out in the end. Steve is new to the NFBC, but we hope he sticks around for a long time. Best of luck in the hunt for the $3,750 first place prize, Steve, and with any luck we'll get you in a $1,250 league with the chance to win $7,500.

Let's give it up for Bruce Lev of Streamwood, Illinois, who becomes our 199th signup for the NFBC's main event. Bruce saw the story about the NFBC in our latest Fantasy Sports Magazine issue and loved the concept, knowing he could unseat Artie Rastelli as our national champion! Bruce becomes our 35th signup for the main event at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th. Thanks for your trust and support, Bruce, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 for the league prize.
