I'm sure the Astros are enjoying the way the NC State is abusing expected first overall pick Carlos Rodon right now. 132 pitches in a complete game loss yesterday and 379 pitches over the last three starts for the 21 year old.

Anibal Sanchez pulled after a 2-2 pitch to Dozier due to an unknown injury.

Ahh well, I'm off to take my son to see Captain America. Should be less blood and carnage in that movie than the typical baseball game lately.

Seriously, what is the purpose of this thread, to report EVERY injury for the entire year? We get it, there have been a lot of injuries. How about Deadheadz starts a thread with the replacement player for each player that gets injured? Idea?

Well, last night I thought I broke a hip dancing to Happy at the school's annual Daddy/Daughter dance, turns out I'm just getting old and my bones creak

Of course, If you don't like reading about EVERY injury that happens to NFBC owners and the players they have, don't read this thread. After 12 pages, it's fairly obvious what each new post will contain.

I myself like reading it :) .....mostly ....Josh Hamilton I'm looking at you

Francisco Liriano replaced after only 2 innings.

Not sure why...maybe pine tar? I'm assuming he's hurt. If you own him, best to research the severity.

EDIT: He had flu-like symptoms

Ding ding. Like every year, folks are going to use injuries as an excuse why they didn't do well. I believe it's therapy for some folks to have it documented on the MB, as if it makes their losing more acceptable. LOL

I don't really believe that "excuse making" is or was ever the point for this thread. I've always looked at it as more of a shared venting, sort of a group therapy  . After all, bitching about injuries is cathartic in a way. I know that most of the injured I've posted here aren't even on most or any of my teams.

Now that I think of it, each of the three here have added to this thread as well.
I suppose holier than thou posts are cathartic as well. ;) :P

PS.... Captain America was a pretty good flick.

Totally agree, however some of these guys could at least wait to see if there is an actual injury first, not a sickness or someone thrown out of the game.

Gekko probably is right on some front as well. I'd rather not make injury excuses. I think in his honor this thread should move toward the addition of "I lost because when faced with a choice between 2 players, I took Player A instead of Player B and now I hate myself"

I'll start...WHY DID I DRAFT ALLEN CRAIG OVER JOSE ABREU!!! I even had Abreu one spot ahead of Craig in my rankings...WHY? I talked myself into better BA, duel eligibility, safer pick....blah, blah, blah. Some year I will learn, I hope.

No doubt Joe. I was actually planning the next post of my blog being along these lines, where I compare the players "I'm most invested in" versus those that are now atop the NFBC rankings. When I checked the other day, I had exactly one of the top ten players in the NFBC rankings at that point on any of my teams, and that player only on one.

Did injuries help my teams? Absolutely not. However, my drafts hurt my teams even more.
I guess I'm just grumpy 'cause my teams suck.

At least Captain America was a cool movie and Scarlett Johansson is smokin' hot. There's always a silver lining.

Jean Segura out after getting hit in the eye with a bat swung by Braun.

Jeff Bianchi replaces him in lineup and is 2-2 so far. Rev up those FAAB bids   ;)

You just can't make this stuff up... Braun was taking practice swings in the dugout and cracked Segura in the head, supposedly an ugly incident...out of game and helped into clubhouse, nothing on his status as of now, one report says laceration by eye

Braun left the game too, he pulled something call the intercostal muscle when he swung the bat and hit Segura on the head- lol. Segura will have plastic surgery around his eye they are saying.

Hanley Ramirez- Bruised thumb, possibly fractured - removed- Obligatory xray, followed by MRI - lol

The purpose of this thread is to report the chaotic injuries occurring across MLB. More than I ever recall seeing! Nobody is making excuses for losing...........BUT if someone is devastated by injuries and can barely have a lineup that plays or is forced to cut good players to have a lineup with players accumulating stats......that is not an excuse for losing. That's getting screwed. The winner of this has practically become who did not have as many injuries as the rest. You can pick fine and get f**ked every year on injuries. You can change your strategy and pick guys that never get injured........and then they do the year you pick them. You are welcome to avoid the thread all together if it bothers you.
