WHIP ratio should really be WHHIP, is a HPB less damaging than a BB?

3 start prediction:

One Win

5.40/1.40

15 IP, 18 Ks He's right about on pace.

If his next outing is 5 IP, 5 H/BB, 3 ER, 7 Ks and a W ... I will have nailed it.

What are the odds? :D

He is a solid pitcher, but with the wind blowing in and the Cubs running themselves out of a couple runs it should've been worse. Dempster was the better pitcher today. He got squeezed big time in that 6th inning. Demuth must have bet on MadMax! LOL

Scherzer is expected to be replaced by Doug Davis in the rotation once he's able to return from thryoid cancer after his next rehab start, the Arizona Republic reports.

Nevermind the 150 to 200 , how about the 300 to 450 and came up short. If you were bidding less than 200 you couldnt possible thing you were in the running for this young stud.Hopefully he will throe another shut out this week andmake it harder on management to send him down. That would suck for the Max fan club , but great for the i told you so Mad Max haters club.

Here's a handy table for all on this thread.

max-Hater = bid 0-49

max-Pessimist = bid 50-149

max-Realist = bid 150-250

max-Optimist = bid 251-450

max-Lover = 451-700

max-Obsessed = 701-900

max-Clinically Delusional = 901-1000

On the Max handy table i just miss max optimist and land in Max Lover.I bid 466 in one league and 564 in other.I bid on Max not to be the cool guy because if he stay's up he will help me in four catigories.Remember when Hamels came up and Gallarado last year. They helped teams win leagues.

I still have plenty of money for the players nobody wants. How many times do you see money wasted on on peoples team at the end of the year just sitting on the owners list. Some teams will have hundreds they will never use.I will always go after the players i think can help me and try to spend everything i have by the end of the year. Point well taken Eddie G, can't take the FAAB with you I guess? I think it's better to hold a little back , so you can have first shot at the slim pickens when you really need it.

It's more the "negative" stats these "Never Has beens" can do to you. Take for example this Jeff Clement Butt Pirate. If you were lucky enough to get him for 30% of your budget last week, you were the proud owner of a 4-32...WITH NOTHING.

These stats will kill you and someone was thinking that in another 6 weeks he can play him at catcher...YAAHHHH HOOOO!!!!!. I'd rather have a bum with 5 ab's a week or better yet no ab that won't do damage. It will take weeks to undo that predicted mess from Clement.

Clement has hit at pretty much every level and he will hit at some point probably, but last I checked this isn't a keeper league your'e playing?

FUDD Most if not all max driven bids are need based. You think the Clement bidders have a choice ? They're staring at 25 hitting points and have Kendall and Posada at C. Their 5th OF and UTIL platoon. They've just smoked 5 weeks of 5 ab a week bums.

You roll the die on a 24yo with coming off a .370 AAA start with a wide open oppor for 5 starts a week until he's 35. AND possible C eligibility to boot. NO ONE can predict success or failure. But he's the type of guy you throw your $ at
