neither happened. i wasn't going to take a SP just to take one. i will wait out the run for some value. hopefully it will be coming.

Clearly I like the percentages. I love this reliever even more. Not because he posted two of the greatest seasons as a relief pitcher, but because he choked up the Kirk Gibson HR to my hometown Dodgers! I doubt I ever watch a more memorable Dodger game; granted the memory becomes more engrained with every "Buckner-like" replay and analysis of the AB.
Dennis Eckersley (RP) 1990-
W- 4
SV- 48
K- 73
ERA- 0.61
Whip- 0.61

When I was going through looking at some of these amazing seasons and preparing for the draft the Dennis Eckersley 1990 is one season that I did a double take at when seeing.
I am only 29 years old so most of these players are way before my time but i do remember as a very young kid watching Eckersley dominate guys as a closer. I just did not think he was that good that year.
To have a whip and a era in the .6 range is plain crazy.

Dave/Dan-- Any thought of going 1938 for Greenberg? 58 HR vs. the RBI and BA you gained w/ 1937. Very close in my book, I'm guessing the BA was the difference maker for you since you and Bruce appear poised to bludgeon the rest of us in RBI...

Just read Dave's piece and in fairness, this is not a new idea. The gang at Rotojunkie have been doing this for YEARS. They call them VINTAGE DRAFTS. Unfortunately, Rotojunkie was also a victim to the Liberty/Fanball situation and their old forum vanquished into cyberspace, taking multitudes of these drafts along with them. They are in process of starting the tradition anew at their new site Rotojunkie Bullpen
I'll be writing about it on Mastersball and our friends at KFFL.com are also going to post the piece.

I'll go with yet another pitcher.
Eric Gagne (2003): 2 Wins, 1.20 ERA, .692 WHIP, 137 K and 55 Saves in 82.1 IP.

Very nice Dave... but it's 14 grizzled NFBC vets and one FOOL

who's a big baseball fan. I did one draft league about 10 years ago... it was for free and I can't remember how I did, so it must not have been good... So I guess I'm representing the "average Joe" in the experts league. May the force be with me.

The piece implied (to me) the concept is new and not just the pay for play aspect.
