Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Wed Feb 16, 2005 7:27 am

And the run to 300 continues. Let's welcome our newest member of the growing NFBC family as Gary Cutler of Jeddo, Michigan becomes our 234th member for the big dance as he just signed up to compete in the main event at the Embassy Suites O'Hare-Chicago. Gary learned about our event last year, but couldn't attend because of a family obligation. But he's ready to go this year and he becomes our 44th member in Chicago, one away from closing out our third full league. Next signup is guaranteed a spot in a full league. Welcome aboard, Gary, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Ian Rule of Garnerville, New York and co-manager Pete Schlechter will be competing in the big dance on Saturday, March 19th at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas, becoming our 113th team in Las Vegas and 235th overall. That leaves us with 65 spots for the main event. Ian and Pete are new to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome them aboard. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Scott Gordon of Staten Island, New York joins the NFBC for the first time as he just signed up for the AL Auction League ($650 entry fee) in New York on Friday, March 18th, starting at 4 p.m. Scott becomes our fourth team in that debut event, leaving us with eight open spots. Scott is extremely excited to compete in this event and he looks forward to the competition at the New York Hilton. Thanks for trusting and supporting us, Scott, and good luck in the hunt for the $3,500 league prize

Our next NFBC signup is a familiar name to all of you, even though he's not exactly who you're thinking of. Let's welcome Henry Kissinger (no, not that diplomat!) of Howard Beach, New York, who has just signed up to compete in the NFBC's main event on Saturday, March 19th at the New York Hilton. Henry will be joined by co-manager Joseph Avanzato as first time participants in our high-stakes event. Henry almost joined the NFBC last year, but had a scheduling conflict and now is free for the competition this year. Thanks for trusting and supporting us, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We welcome our 237th member to the NFBC's main event and our 80th to New York as Kevin Forman of Morristown, New Jersey has joined us for the first time. Kevin will be drafting on Saturday, March 19th at the New York Hilton in the main event and we're glad to have him on board. Let's fill up that sixth league in the Big Apple and work on another one. Thanks for trusting and supporting us, Kevin, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

I was out of the office most of today, so I apologize for the lack of activity today. I owe a LOT of people return phone calls tomorrow. Sorry.

Let's get it going by announcing the arrival of Saro Semerciyan of Cliffside Park, New Jersey and co-manager Anthony Mirkovic to the NFBC. Saro and Anthony competed in our high-stakes football event this fall and are joining the NFBC for the first time. They will be drafting in the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th. They become our 81st team in New York and 238th overall, leaving us with 62 spots remaining. Thanks once again guys for your trust and support and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's keep the signups coming as we welcome yet another new member to the growing NFBC family. Joe Knecht of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and Gino Capone will team up on March 19th at the New York Hilton in the main event and they are eager to get it going. Joe said he heard about our event last year and watched the development of the NFBC over the last 12 months, reading the Message Boards regularly. He couldn't resist this year and found a solid partner in Gino, who was the middle linebacker at Penn State before graduating in 2003. Joe didn't play football at Penn State, he's just the King of Prussia! :D Anyway, we're glad to have the Dynamic Duo on board and we wish them best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. First beers are on us in New York! :D

We now have 82 signups in New York and 239 overall. One more to fill up our 16th league in the main event.

Geez, Greg! Only 61 to fill 'er up! Way to go!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.

We're happy to announce that we've filled up our 16th league for the NFBC's main event, leaving us with 60 spots to go. We had 13 full leagues last year, so it's been a great start to the season. Our latest new member of the growing NFBC family is Eric Albright of Cincinnati, Ohio, who has signed up to compete on Saturday, March 19th at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Eric is new to our family of high-stakes games and we welcome him and his partner to the fold. Best of luck guys in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize and I'll see both of you in Las Vegas in four weeks! :D

Richard and Bryant are new to our high-stakes events and we welcome them with open arms. We now have 83 signups for New York and 241 overall. Anthony Powell and Michael Matthews of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania became our first official signup for the NL Auction League with a $1,250 entry fee at the New York Hilton on Friday morning, March 18th. We now have four NL Auction League entrants at $650 and two of those would play at the higher stakes level, so we're getting more interest now. Let's keep those signups coming and fill up this 13-team league. Anthony and Michael are new to our family of high-stakes games and we welcome them with open arms. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $7,500 first place prize.

Officially, we have 57 spots left in the NFBC as I just reserved two more for returning NFBC members. Last year The Four Perps actually had four owners as Karl Roesler, Karch Adonis, Jack Lyons and Jack Malcom split the rights to that team. Karl and Karch of Tarzana, California have already signed up for an NFBC team and now Jack Lyons is forming a partnership with two other owners to nab the 115th spot in Las Vegas and the 242nd spot overall in the big event. Jack is getting me more details on this team, but is good to go for Las Vegas. Thanks for breaking up The Four Perps Jack -- kind of like breaking up the Beatles -- and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Jack has also recruited another friend to compete in Las Vegas, so The Four Perps are now Three Teams! :D Dan Fenwick will be the principal owner of that team and I'll have more details on Dan and his partner shortly, but that becomes our 116th team in Las Vegas and 243rd overall. Thanks for joining the NFBC family, Dan, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We have just filled up our third league in Chicago thanks to the return of Edward Mick to the NFBC's main event. Edward competed in Chicago League 3 last year, and although he finished far out of the money, he's happy to return for another chance in 2005. Edward will be drafting at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare as he becomes the 45th signup there and 244th overall. He also becomes the 136th returning member from 2004 to the big dance. Thanks for your trust and support, Edward, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's keep the signups rolling in on a Sunday as it's good to see our NFBC patrons aren't taking the weekend off! We're now at 245 signups for the big dance, leaving us with 55 guaranteed spots for the main event. Our latest new member to the growing NFBC family is Rick Pleiss of Tacoma, Washington, who will be teaming up with Dennis Purdy to draft in the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. They become the 117th team to sign up in Las Vegas, leaving us three open spots before we fill our eighth league at the Rio! Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Okay, let's get right to the signups and update the remaining spots for the main event as we head toward the March 13th signup deadline. Our newest member of the growing NFBC family is new to our high-stakes baseball contest, but he's not new to KP's high-stakes events. Bob Ashmen of Voorhees, New Jersey joined us for the National Fantasy Football Championship last year and he had so much fun that he's returning to our baseball event in March. Bob will be drafting in the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th, becoming our 84th owner in New York and 246th overall. Thanks for your trust and support, Bob, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have seven signups for the New York Mixed Auction League with the recent signup of David and Steven Dorfman of Marlboro, New Jersey. Dave and Steve are new to our family of high-stakes events and we're glad to have them in this debut Friday afternoon event at the New York Hilton. We'll start promptly at 4 p.m. on March 18th. Let's get those last eight spots filled in New York and get this league finalized. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 first place prize.

James Vassallo and Chris Schinker were one of the first signups for the NFBC in 2004, the NFFC in 2004 and again for the NFBC in 2005. But I'm afraid I've caused a divorce for this year's baseball event! :D Instead of partnering for the main event, Chris just called and said they each wanted their own teams. I hate when that happens! ;) Let's make it official then and welcome Chris as the 118th team at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th and welcome him as the 247th team overall. We now have 53 spots left for the main event. Thanks Chris for again trusting and supporting us and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We have started taking signups for our fourth league in Chicago as Sandi Kleemann of Palatine, Illinois is joining the main event to compete against you boys. I think it's safe to say that we can call the Kleemanns the first family of the NFBC as we now have father, mother and son involved in our second annual event. George and his son Michael finished second in Chicago League 3 last year and they each have separate teams in the main event this year. George is also competing in the NFBC Ultimate Draft League on Sunday, March 20th. Now his wife, Sandi, is ready to compete with her own team on Saturday, March 19th at the Embassy Suites O'Hare-Chicago. Welcome aboard Sandi as we can never have enough pretty and intelligent ladies in this event. Also good luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize and don't feel bad when you kick all of these boys' butts! :D

Greg, I thought when I entered I included a partner (my son Rob Ashmen). I believe the fee stated 1350 for the additional person. What information do you need to add him on. Bob Ashmen

Our signups keep coming in today as we welcome our 138th NFBC team from 2004 back to the 2005 event. The father-son tag team of James and Kevin Cummings of New York City will return to the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th to compete in the main event. Team Cummings finished 11th in New York League 4 with 70 points last year, but the duo is planning on a much better finish in 2005. We now have 85 signups for the main event in New York and 249 overall. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're now at exactly 250 signups for the main event this year thanks to the signup of David Deterra of Jamestown, Rhode Island. David didn't compete in the NFBC last year, but he did compete in our high-stakes football event in 2004 and he was already signed up for the AL Auction League ($1,250 entry fee) in New York. David will be drafting at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th as he becomes our 86th signup in New York. Thanks for your trust and support, David, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Kelly Uganski of Muskegan, Michigan is new to the NFBC, having heard about our event from fellow NFBC veteran Michael Fishman. But he's not afraid to jump into the mix as he signed up for the NFBC Ultimate Auction League ($5,000 entry fee) right away and added the $650 Mixed Auction League today. Kelly will be participating at the Rio Hotel & Casino on Friday, March 18th in the Mixed Auction League and doing the Ultimate in Las Vegas as well. We now have 19 participants signed up for the Friday Mixed Auction League and will try to fill two $650 leagues there and we have already filled all 15 spots in the Ultimate Auction League. Thanks for your trust and support, Kelly, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 and $40,000 auction league prizes.

Michael Fishman of New York City becomes our second owner this afternoon to confirm his NFBC Ultimate Auction League entry ($5,000 entry fee) and add a $650 Mixed Auction League in Las Vegas. We now have 20 owners signed up for the Mixed Auction League in Las Vegas and will definitely shoot for two full leagues out there. Michael competed in the NFBC and NFFC last year in New York, but this year he's flying to Las Vegas to join us for some baseball fun. We haven't convinced him to jump into the main event just yet, but he said he's watching the open spots with interest and may do that yet. Anyway, welcome aboard, Michael, and best of luck in the hunt for the $4,250 and $40,000 auction league prizes.

Okay, we're getting closer to filling up our 17th league for the NFBC's main event thanks to another signup this morning. Let's give it up for our newest members of the growing NFBC family as the tag team of Steve Melillo and Dana Harvey of Wallingford, Connecticut have just signed up for the main event in New York. Steve and Dana are new to the NFBC family and we welcome them with open arms. We now have 87 signups in New York -- three short of our sixth full league there -- and 251 overall, leaving us with 49 spots left. Thanks for your trust and support, Steve and Dana, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.
