Who Is Coming To The 2005 NFBC And Where?

Post by Greg Ambrosius » Sat Feb 26, 2005 3:52 am

Kevin Dukesherer has completed the trifecta on the weekend of March 18-19 by adding the $650 Mixed Auction League on Friday at 4 p.m. at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Kevin was already signed up for the main event on Saturday and the NL Auction League ($1,250 entry fee) and now he's going for the Mixed Auction League. We now have 23 owners for that and we'll cut this off at 30 and two leagues. Thanks Kevin for your trust and support again and best of luck in the hunt for this $4,250 first place prize.

Wing and Simon are new to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome them aboard. We now have five signups for that debut league, with seven spots left. Let's fill that one up and close it out. Okay, let's keep the ball rolling toward 300. I'm glad to welcome our 148th returning member from the 2004 event as Chad Meyer of Columbus, Indiana will be returning to the NFBC's main event at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th. Chad and two other co-managers led Triple Threat to a third place finish in Chicago League 2 last year with 94 points, just 1.5 points out of second place and 4.5 points out of the league title. Chad was too busy with work to sign up, but Parnelli Baker kept prodding him this week and Chad finally gave me a call today and was glad he made it in before the deadline. Chad also competed in our NFFC Auction last year and said he's a double member for life!!! Chad becomes the 51st owner in Chicago and 266th overall for the main event. Welcome back, Chad, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Matt's Team Pike finished ninth in Chicago League 3 last year with 78.5 points, finishing 123rd overall. Matt will be joined by co-manager Josh Jantas in the main event this year in Las Vegas. He becomes the 122nd team in Las Vegas and 267th overall. We're glad to have you guys back and we wish you best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. Matt gets the referral on this next one. Let's welcome the newest member of the growing NFBC family as the tag team of Brian Daley and Jesse Arvidson of New York City are going out West to compete in the NFBC's main event. Brian and Jesse are new to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome them with open arms. They become the 123rd team to draft at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th and the 268th overall, leaving us with ONLY 32 SPOTS! Post by Greg Ambrosius » Sun Feb 27, 2005 3:00 am

We start Sunday, Feb. 27th by announcing that we have filled up 18 leagues for the NFBC's main event. Let's get it started by announcing the signup of Scott Simonetti of Centereach, New York to the big event. Scott is an NFFC member who won his last 12 games in the New York Auction League to finish 12-1, eventually losing to Jersey Paul in the championship game. Scott is already signed up for the New York Mixed Auction League on Friday, March 18th at the New York Hilton, but today he decided to add the big event to his weekend of fun. Scott becomes the 95th team in New York and the 269th overall. Thanks for your trust and support, Scott, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We officially close out our 18th league in the NFBC's main event with the arrival of our newest member to the growing NFBC family. Let's give it up for Scott Masel of Pawleys Island, South Carolina, who just signed up for the main event at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare. Scott is new to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome him to the gang. We now have 52 signups in Chicago and 270 overall, leaving us with eight spots in Chicago for a fourth full league. Let's get it on! :D Thanks for your trust and support, Scott, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

30 SPOTS LEFT!!! First-come, first serve, but ideally we have 8 left in Chicago, 10 left in New York and 12 left in Las Vegas.

We begin our quest for a 19th NFBC league with the addition of another new member to the growing NFBC family. Let's give it up for the tag team of Steven Kalfaian of Jamaica, New York and Steven Janovici, our latest addition to the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th. Steve and Steve are new additions to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome them to the gang. We now have 96 entrants in New York and 271 overall, leaving us with 29 spots left in the big dance. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's officially welcome Chris Fargis of Brooklyn, New York to the growing NFBC family as Chris has agreed to participate in the AL Auction League ($650 entry fee) in Las Vegas on Friday afternoon, March 18th. Chris is the 11th owner signed up for that event, leaving us with one open spot before we close that event. Chris is also interested in competing in the $650 NL Auction League, but that 9 a.m. starting time looks MIGHTY early right now. Have no fear, I think I can convince him to get up for that! :D Chris is new to our family of high-stakes events, but he has been interested in this for the last two months and just finished his travel plans to Las Vegas rather than stay in New York to do this. Welcome aboard, Chris, and best of luck in the hunt for the $3,500 AL Auction League prize.

Nestor and Oscar Solamillos have become the newest members of our growing NFBC family as this will be their first taste of the NFBC, but they aren't new to our high-stakes events. Nestor and Oscar competed in our National Fantasy Football Championship in September, drafting in Las Vegas League 2 as the FlatTops. Although they didn't cash out in football, Oscar is confident that the two brothers can have better success in football. They will again be drafting in Las Vegas at the Rio Hotel & Casino as Nestor is a Las Vegas native, while Oscar resides in Phoenix. We now have 124 signups for the main event in Las Vegas and 272 overall, leaving us with 28 open spots. Thanks for your trust and support once again, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We're getting closer to full leagues in each city and closer to 300 with two more signups over the night. Let's first welcome Joseph Monaco of Homewood, Illinois to the growing NFBC family as Joseph will be joining us for the main event at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th. Joseph is new to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome him with open arms. Joseph becomes the 54th owner in Chicago (we had one team switch from Las Vegas to Chicago yesterday), leaving us with six open spots in the Windy City. We also have 273 signups overall, leaving us with 27 available spots in the big dance. Thanks for your trust and support, Joseph, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Let's give it up for the newest members of the growing NFBC family as the tag team of Nick Naggar and Joe Langkowski of Las Vegas, Nevada just signed up to compete in the AL-only Auction League at the Rio Hotel & Casino on Friday, March 18th. Nick and Joe want to compete in the $1,250 AL-only league, but we may not have enough interest to fill a second league at that price. Right now I have them listed in the $650 AL-only Auction League as the 12th owner, closing out that event. That would give us one full $1,250-AL Auction League and one full $650 AL Auction League in Las Vegas, which is good enough for now. We still have spots open in the NL-only $1,250 and $650 leagues and seven spots in the Mixed Auction League ($650) in Las Vegas. Get 'em while they're still available. Thanks Nick and Joe for trusting and supporting us and best of luck in the hunt for the $3,500 first place prize if we can't get you in the bigger payout AL Auction League.

Let's give it up for our newest member of the growing NFBC family as Dan Mitlof of Congers, New York called this morning to grab a spot in the main event at the New York Hilton on Saturday, March 19th. Dan will be joined by co-manager Gary Ottomanelli as both guys are new to our family of high-stakes events. Dan was surprised to hear that we had only 26 spots left as he was going to wait a little longer to sign up and is now glad he called today. We now have 97 signups in New York and 274 overall, leaving us with 26 available spots in the big dance. Thanks guys for trusting and supporting the NFBC and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We are at exactly 275 signups for the main event thanks to the arrival of our newest member to the growing NFBC family. Let's welcome Vin Lostacco of Warwick, Rhode Island, who will be joining us at the Rio Hotel & Casino on Saturday, March 19th for the main event. We now have 125 signups in Las Vegas and 275 overall, which means ideally we have 10 open spots in Las Vegas and 25 overall. Vin heard about the NFBC from David DiDonato and just finalized his plans to be in Las Vegas during March Madness. Welcome aboard, Vin, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We welcome back our 150th team from the 2004 event to the 2005 main event as Boaz Levy of Los Angeles, California has just signed up to compete again at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Boaz's "The B-Sharps" finished eighth in Las Vegas League 1 last year with 88.5 points, just seven points out of a money finish. That was good enough for 60th overall as LV 1 was tightly bunched after first place. I remember Boaz telling me he was a fan of the Yankees last year and I surprised him with an autographed Ron Guidry ball and then he competed in the league with Meat Loaf. I'll give him crap for taking so long to re-up with us this year, but that will come later. :D Thanks for trusting and supporting us again, Boaz, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have 126 signups in Las Vegas and 276 overall. 24 spots left until we hit 300!

We're now at 277 signups for the NFBC's main event thanks to the signup of our newest member to the growing NFBC family. Let's give it up for the tag team of Kevin McGrath and Bob Stephens of Eagan, Minnesota, who will be drafting at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th. Kevin is in a league with NFBC veteran Mike O'Connor in Minnesota and comes on the recommendation of Mike. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. We now have 55 signups in Chicago -- 5 open spots left -- and 277 overall!

Let's give it up for yet another new member to the growing NFBC family as Steve Gregovich of Walnut Creek, California has just signed up to compete in the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino on Saturday, March 19th. Steve is new to our family of high stakes events and we welcome him to the gang. Steve saw the article on Artie Rastelli in Lindy's Magazine and decided to check us out and he liked what he saw. Thanks for your trust and support, Steve, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize. We now have 126 signups in Las Vegas -- nine spots left there -- and 278 overall. Bring it on for those last 22 spots!

I'm glad to welcome another fellow Cheesehead to the growing NFBC family, someone just down the road from our Krause Publications offices. Let's give it up for Mike Wheeler of Greenville, Wisconsin, a first-time member of our family of high-stakes events who will be drafting at the Embassy Suites Chicago-O'Hare on Saturday, March 19th. Mike read about our contest last year and wasn't able to compete in 2004, but he's ready to jump in this year. He's a loyal CDM player who is adding this event to his list of contests in 2005. Welcome aboard, Mike, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

We now have 56 signups in Chicago and 279 overall. Ideally, we have four spots remaining in Chicago for a fourth full league and 21 overall.

Let's keep the signups going as I'm here late tonight! ;) It's time to announce another new member to our auction leagues as the tag team of Antonio Galvao of Yorktown Heights, New York and Peter Passidomo have just signed up for the AL-only Auction League at the New York Hilton on Friday, March 18th. They become the sixth team entered in that debut event, leaving us with six spots left. Tony and Peter are new to our family of high-stakes events and we welcome them aboard. We now have 281 owners for the NFBC's main event thanks to the latest signup of another new member to the growing NFBC family. Let's welcome Greg Masters of San Diego, California, who will be joining us in the NFBC's main event at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 19th. Greg and co-manager Rob Maysey heard about the NFBC last year, but couldn't make it to the event. They are excited to be joining the competition this year and they become our 127th team in Las Vegas and 281st overall. That leaves us with 8 spots left in Las Vegas and 19 overall. Thanks for your trust and support, guys, and best of luck in the hunt for the $100,000 grand prize and the $5,000 league prize.

Double check this. You say he's competing at The Rio Casino in NY. Is this a NY signup or a Vegas signup.
