Who Wants To Compete In The Next Slow Draft?

I'm gonna sign up as soon as I can find a list of 15 that doesn't include Lee Jupinka. Here's one of his favorite tricks: He's out of the 15 hole in a current draft. He likes to post stuff in the chat function when on the clock to make sure we know he's there. Then he logs off for 10 hours. Followed by one pick. Then logs off of another 10 before picking his second. Sure he is allowed to do it, and we've put up with it for 30 plus rounds. Just don't want to sign up for another 50 rounds of it, and hope none of my friends have to endure it either.

Greg/Tom,

Not complaining but do we know for sure when we will start drafting? It would really help to know for sure.

Thanks,

I can understand that it might happen to someone once or twice but to conduct a whole draft in that manner is totally disrespectful to your counterparts.

Can anything be done to discourage this type of action?

Disrespectful is one thing. Totally sucks, no question. But to do it for no other reason than to tick everyone off is a different animal. This type of behavior is the only reason some don't play slow drafts, and others (like me) don't play as much as they would otherwise. I know what I'd do if I was in charge, champs brother or not. But I'm not, so I'll stop whining.

If someone is doing it purposely, I'm sure the admins can monitor the situation -- ultimately, it not only sours everyone's experience but it's bad for business.

This happened in a slow draft I participated in last year. It was brutal and the reason I have only done one slow draft this year (it was completely by e-mail and it was GREAT). E-mail slow draft is he way to go!!

Hoosier I just got back from Las Vegas tonight and everything is rolling along perfectly. We won't start the Slow Drafts this week but I think the software will be ready next week for these. I'll update more tomorrow, but I couldn't be more excited about the future. EXTREMELY EXCITED!!

If bozo's are not barred altogether (the best move) there should at least be an additional time limit stipulation to the 12 hour time limit per pick. Perhaps an overall time limit should be set per 10 rounds. Reach you limit after the 1st 6 rounds, it defaults to auto for the next 4, etc. Of course we can't even get the 'pick one round only' button, so we probably have a better chance of holding a live draft on the moon, but just a thought.

While I believe Potter 100%, I'm pretty shocked that brother Jupinka is such a bozo in these, because I know that Champ Jupinka is not a bozo at all and would never do such a thing. So I guess what I'm saying is maybe someone is due for a brother to brother talk about drafting etiquette. It is certainly possible that brother Jupinka is simply not prepared yet to draft, and is stalling. Or he's playing the "Maybe a big trade or signing will happen that gives some X player available a bigger opportunity IN THE NEXT TEN HOURS" card, which is tacky, but at least strategic. For example, when Bartlett was traded, depending on what round your draft was in, it could have mattered. That is not at all a defense of brother of Jupinka, but it's more than saying he's doing it just to be a douche. That is very rarely going to be the reason.

my only concern and only reason I have NEVER played in a slow draft league is because of the possibility of some numnut taking 10 hrs for each pick.

You guys have scared me off this time as well..lol

Looks like im in a draft with lee. If what you say is true his draft alone will take 25 days. Hoping it was strategic.

I posted this on another thread, but I'll update it here:

Let's set a KDS deadline of noon CST on Monday for all of these full Slow Drafts. Set your KDS on your current team page and officially get signed up if you can do that. Sign up under $150 Draft Champions or $375 Draft Champions. If you can't do that, you can email me at [email protected], but I'd rather you just set your KDS online. We'll then announce draft picks shortly after that and be ready to go as soon as the other items above are done. With any luck, we'll be drafting well before the Super Bowl, so be ready.

Payments will have to be run before we draft, so have a valid credit card when you sign up.

When you click Select next to your team listing the KDS screen appears. Here is the explanation in our rules. If you have any questions let us know.

Here's what KDS does: The KDS process allows owners to rank their order of preference for Draft Day, ranking their preferences 1 through 15 BEFORE the leagues are randomly selected. Some owners would rather draft in the middle, if they are selected early in their league; others like to stay near the top and others like to move down to the lower end. KDS allows that if you are fortunate enough. A sample KDS from an owner could look like this: 3, 2, 1, 7, 6, 8, 15, 14, 4, 5, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13. If an owner wants the third pick and he is selected No. 1 overall in his league, he would choose 3 as his top option and he would then be moved to third in that league on Draft Day if he were picked first out of the hat. NFBC officials will look at every owner's Draft Preferences after the leagues and orders are randomly selected and then announce the draft orders for each league.

[/QUOTE]Super, thanks so much Tom.

What does our "current team page" refer to, from Greg's post? Does a new owner automatically have one or does he have to create one?

When you sign up at nfbc.fanball.com and click on My Teams you will see all of your teams listed there. Click the Select button next to your team listing and you can set your KDS there.

Please remove me from the $150 slow (I had already signed up on Fanball). Keep me in the $375 and $1,000. When I signed up for the $150 it was the next draft starting, but now the $375 will be starting at the same time and the $1,000 shortly thereafter -- those two are enough for me.

Hey Tom ...

Don't know if you realized that you just bumped Bato up into a group of 15 that would have him in the same league twice ... you can bump me up into that league instead if you like ... whatever works for you ... Thanks, Mike ...
