I'm not going to pull the draft spots for this league until we know we have all 15 owners still in. Alan said he wouldn't do this league again without a break. Is there a need for a break at some point, although not 15 minutes? It's something we can do if needed. Let's figure it out today and get the draft spots picked tonight or tomorrow morning. Sound good?

I'm good with or without a break. I found during yesterdays fast 50, at times I had almsot 6-8 mins between some picks. i was picking 6th and every other round i had 18 picks between picks, so at the very least i had about 6-8 mins every other turn. more than enough to get something to eat, etc. The trick was keeping your que ready....
We averaged a litte less than 2.94 picks a minute, roughy 20 seconds a pick. 4hrs-15 mins total for 750 picks. Fast pace for sure, but i did not find it overwhelming. The pace the was a little slower the first 30 rounds, but the last 20 was really fast.

I'm good in any scenario. What does Alan propose?

I am ok with a quick break(s) if they are needed.

I can go either way. A 10 min break to go potty after Rd 20 or much like Lloyd in Dumb and Dumber, I could make good use of my beer bottles.
If it takes 5 hours I'm good with no break. Doesn't matter to me

Not a question of whether you are good with them or would like them there are NO breaks in NFBC online leagues as I learned yesterday.
Re: FEB. 19 $150 Slow/Fast Draft IS NOW SOLD OUT!!
One break - 10 minutes. It was a 4 1/2 hour speed draft that can easily turn into a 5 1/2 or 6 hour speed draft if everyone isn't nearly perfect and on board like yesterday. I am not trying to cause an uproar. This is 50 rounds, not 30 like the satellite leagues and the satellite leagues give you the full 1 1/2 minutes to make your pick. This league really requires you to make a 30 second pick. I didn't know it was such a big deal. At least for me, I was either constantly picking or queing players. I didnt have time to go to the bathroom or anything. I am sure you can fill my spot if everyone decides on no breaks. I just thought it would be nice to have at least one. I was told there would be 2 breaks in yesterdays draft until learning on the msg board there were none. I dont think 1 break is a lot to ask for. It was an awesome draft and great experience otherwise. Sorry if I am being a pain.

This is true.Captain Hook wrote:Not a question of whether you are good with them or would like them there are NO breaks in NFBC online leagues as I learned yesterday.
I did my first online Main Event last year and was stunned that while 'live' drafters got two breaks, there were none to be had online. Drafting or strategy-wise, no big deal. Bladder-wise, a big deal.

On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

Okay, I'm going to make an Executive Decision here and see if we can't do this right for this league. Let's plan on a 5-8 minute break at the 90 minute mark and another one at the 3 hour mark. I can see the need to catch your breath in these leagues and grab a quick break. These do move pretty fast, but I don't think we need 2 15-minute breaks. Tom will pause the draft for these breaks and then re-start the draft room. Hopefully this can be added and we can still get these done in 5 hours of so. If that's okay with the group, we'll pick the draft order tomorrow and plan accordingly. Sound good?

Once again, Greg and Tom prove why they are the best in the business at HS Fantasy sports. Whatever the concerns may be, whether the voice of the many or the voice of the few, they deal with it immediately and professionally. I apologize if I caused any issue here. It sounded like I was in the minority with this one, but experiencing first hand, the fast draft yesterday, I believe you will all be thanking me in the end. Its an extra 10-15 minutes total.

ur not in the minority at all Alan, not an unreasonable request to have a few breaks. I already weighed in on the other thread -BK METS wrote:Once again, Greg and Tom prove why they are the best in the business at HS Fantasy sports. "having a few breaks is not too much to ask for imo. I disagree w/ the two 15 min. breaks tho, seems too long of a break just to get ur que in order. Wouldn't three 10 min. breaks or four 5 min. breaks spread throughout the draft be more useful in helping keep up? Just a thought"
as we saw Greg was pretty close to what I suggested, great minds really do think alike

now, about that draft order

Always be closing.

This is what I do in the auction leagues I run and it works great. Just enough time to hit the bathroom and refill the glass.Greg Ambrosius wrote:Okay, I'm going to make an Executive Decision here and see if we can't do this right for this league. I'll announce the draft order of this one after 11 a.m. EST and get this league set up this morning. The KDS will be fun to watch, but not for everyone. You'll see as I'll announce these one-by-one. I won't prolong it so much, but at least show you how this league unfolded. Look for that soon.
