for most people, i'm sure the sticking point is the pitching and/or the outfielders? i pushed both because i thought i could get value later in the draft. in addition, i view them as the easiest positions to address on the waiver wire.
Which is why you are given the benefit of the doubt. If you didn't have the resume', this team would have been killed by many.. as it is, I think I was constructive.. and I think that the obvious deficiencies are curable.

forget it's me. and forget about adp. adp means nothing (literally) when it comes to the team eval. why do u think this team would be "killed". that's pretty harsh.

The thing is, I love a lot of your picks, Darvish, Liriano, Presley, Niese.... but even your good picks have too much risk.
Your 2nd OF is Lorenzo Cain, your 4th OF is Quentin, who is out 6 weeks and is taking a big hit this year anyways in SD. Outside of your top 3 SP (none of which are top tier), your pitching is a mess with your #4 and #5 pitchers coming off severe injuries. I actually like Niese, but then your #7 is in the minors and your closers are below average with Capps not guaranteed a job for very long, and Marshall just thrown in to the position a few days ago.... Your hitting is actually not bad, with some very good projections for your infield... I just think you took way took many risks... with everything having to go perfectly with FAAB, for you to fill in your deficiencies. I don't think ADP is everything, but playing time is, and you have way to many wild cards for my liking. Risk is fine.. but you have risk everywhere... As I said, the first half of your draft is good, the 2nd half isn't at all. My opinion, for whatever its worth. But, I have seen you do a lot better than this in a few 15 team leagues with very difficult competition.

I love this post..... As I am much more of a football guy than baseball.. Every year I post teams on message boards for Football and it never fails, the teams that everyone raves about end up sucking and the ones that they bash I win the league going away... You never know until the games start getting played......

Good Luck Gekko, I will post mine Saturday after the draft and you can let me know what ya think...

the second team you posted in very good as well. i'd say it's close, however, i don't like the hitting risks on the 2nd team. call that the micromanager in me. yes it APPEARS the pitching is leaps and bounds better, but let's let the season play out and see what happens

Seriously? Hitting risks? The first team has a good infield and 1 decent catcher and 1 decent outfielder.. the rest is a huge risk. The 2nd team is solid all the way through.

"the rest is a huge risk" lol!! it's apparent we aren't going to agree so let's move on. i don't want to get too in depth with player evals seeing how i still have drafts to go

Hi Mark,You know what you have to do to compete. Every team is going to have a weakness or two or three. Thats what working the wire is for and something you as well as anybody to get this team in contention. I just hope you draft this team next week sitting next to me for the main, because we will have a blast and we won't be taking any of each other player. :D :D See you friday Roy

Roy - You are easily THE BEST person to draft next to. i've never had as much fun as that one year in NY. it's like drafting next to Joe Pesci! and you know your baseball shit too. very impressive combo!!
