Greg,
Thank you for asking our input. Here's one more "vote" to consider for this year (& future years). I really liked KJ's proposal. I am easily most interested in the overall % payout (which I see you're keeping at 80%) and much less interested in that very top prize - I know I'd be thrilled to get a whiff of that top prize if it was even "only" 20K, but I know my chances of finishing 2 through 9 overall are MUCH higher (even if still small). So I really like the idea of making it less top-heavy and more filled out below. I also really like that you added to the league payout, definitely the best chance for any of us to participate in the higher total payout.
Having said that, I can understand your position of how you don't feel right marketing it for a 1 in 600 chance at 50K and then just leaving it 50K even at the higher entry level. I'm not the manager of this whole contest like you, so it's harder to totally understand your position, but I respect how you want to keep the integrity of the marketing. Given that you want to go with a 60K top prize then, I like Motorboat Jones' idea that goes from 60K down to 750 for 10th.
Thanks again for considering our input.

Re: Proposed NFBC Online Championship Prize Structure
I apologize for the delay on this final prize payout for the NFBC Online Championship. I thought I had posted this already, but it doesn't look like I did it. Sorry.
The final prize pool for the 2012 NFBC Online Championship League is as follows:
2012 NFBC Online Championship
League Prizes
1st Place - $1,400
2nd Place - $650
Overall Prizes
1st Place - $60,000
2nd Place - $15,000
3rd Place - $7,500
4th Place - $5,000
5th Place - $3,000
6th Place - $2,000
7th Place - $1,500
8th Place - $1,250
9th Place - $1,000
10th Place - $750
The NFBC Online Championship began with a guarantee based on 600 teams and we finished with 864 teams. We are using the additional prize money to increase first place within each of the 72 leagues by $100, so every team has a shot at additional league prize money. We also increased all 10 of the overall prize payouts by the following percentages, with 1st place overall receiving the smallest percentage increase:
Increased Overall Prize Payouts
1st - 20% (from $50,000 to $60,000)
2nd - 50% (from $10,000 to $15,000)
3rd - 50% (from $5,000 to $7,500)
4th - 43% (from $3,500 to $5,000)
5th - 50% (from $2,000 to $3,000)
6th - 100% (from $1,000 to $2,000)
7th - 100% (from $750 to $1,500)
8th 150% (from $500 to $1,250)
9th 150% (from $400 to $1,000)
10th - 114% (from $350 to $750)
I think these are fair increases across the board and it has made the overall prize pool more rewarding. There is now $97,000 in overall prizes available in the NFBC Online Championship and someone who paid $350 for a team is going to win $60,000. We're all very proud of this contest and we wish all 1,050 owners the best of luck in 2012.

Re: Proposed NFBC Online Championship Prize Structure
Very Nice Greg
I am sure those in the hunt for the Top 10 later in the year will be very glad to come back and take a look at this.
Also great growth on the event this year!
(now if those of us in six states were just not banned......)
