They should be called "industry" drafts
Greg will tell you this has been one of my pet peeves for many years. [/QUOTE]All I know Perry is that my mom, nephews, niece and brothers all beat me in my family fantasy football league this year, so what kind of an "expert" is that?
They should be called "industry" drafts, I agree.

When I competed in LABR a few years back really the only expert who put up a fight was Greg Ambrosius.
I find NFFC and NFBC have far tougher competitors. Let's face it we are playin for $$$.
Steve P. I wasn't in the MDC draft, but we will be hosting a 12-team Krause Publications Industry League draft tomorrow. Why do we do 12 teams and not 15 teams? Mainly because we assume that most of our reading audience compete in 12-team leagues. I guess you'd have to ask Sportsline or Yahoo if that is true or not, but I would assume that most people compete in 12-team fantasy baseball leagues, not 15-team leagues. But we'll have your NFBC Champions League results in that magazine as well, so for us it's the best of both worlds.
Okay, now I have the eighth pick tomorrow and Tom has the third pick, who should be take?

Love Delmon Young, Cole Hamels, Alexis Rios, just surprised they din't go 2-3 rounds later. Most owner will be looking to pick those players off! Wonder if they where thinking about round 6.

Wow-Felix Hernandez, Cole Hamels, Chris Young, Barry Bonds. Are we taking some of these guys ahead of schedule?
There are a lot of these guys this year--especially pitchers--that could be great and seem like a dynamite pick a little later and almost a waste earlier. Harden comes to mind. If he's around in the tenth round, he's an outstanding gamble, but somehow the ninth doesn't work and the eighth--fuhgettaboutit. I could get pretty excited about Felix Hernandez if I'm getting him in the eighth round--not so much the fifth. There has to be more of a sure thing in the fifth.
Kind of a run on starting pitching has developed in this draft though.

well i have seen 3 mocks and barrett has gone from 9th to 8th to 7th. keep it up cub fans- by march he will be in the 1st round along with ramirez, lee and soriano. when wood is named the closer and prior is healthy (oxymoron) we may have 6 cubs go in 1st round in chicago.

The number one guy overall in this event took him 7th round- I did not like the pick much either but pretty darn hard to argue with the guy who picked it's track record. Maybe we should both take a harder look.

Is he still one of Shandler's darlings? Maybe someone with an advanced copy can tell us.

barrett- nothing much to look at. line up will be 2000% and 300 million improved. he was hurt last year- but he hits for high average and power should easily be better than all other catchers. a steal in round 7 .325 100 100 25 easy. those are better #'s than any other catcher.

He is the number 4 catcher on my board- a lot to like about him.

Definetely still one of his favorites.

I got Barrett yesterday in the 11th round, 128th overall. I was happy with that as I always leave catchers 'til the end, but last year I really got burned in LABR with bad catchers. I'll start with him in this event and I added Johnny Estrada in the 19th round for his average.

that is a great pick in 11th round. plus he bats 5th. he either gets 90 rbis or the cubs are sub .500. nice to get the hometown catcher in round 19- but in chicago draft by march barratt will not last to 11th- no way.
