I cant believe his infield is the worst. If Chavez can bounce back, along with Blaylock he could have some value here especially where he drafted these guys.Ive always liked Hardy and there moving Hall to the outfield to give Hardy the job.Barfield is a top 5 2nd baseman, [it's possible]. I like this team a lot , and if one of those closers in the waiting pan out , watch out.I would take this team and make the right waiver wire pickups , a chance to win a league.

I think Zumaya is the best pitcher in Detroit pen. Put him on a team with Carpenter,Peavy,Unit,Millwood & Lilly that's close to 1000 k's from 6 pitchers.

CHEST ROCKWELL...Thanks for the comments about my team in another thread. Although I was thinking the team looks worse on paper, compared to how it will finish. I am curious, what offensive category do you see it struggling in?? Hopefully by next season I will have my strategy tweaked just enough so I can compete in the main, I don't plan to join just to fare so, so, that's why I am just getting my feet wet with the satellites. Won last year, hope to again this season. BTW, will you be in Tampa again this season?? yes I will be in Tampa- my lovely wife will be my drafting partner in 07- a pregnant wife at the draft with me it should be interesting when she asks me to go get her some pickles and a candy bar in the middle of the 3rd round.

Good luck in all your sats and the main event.
CONGRATS!! First, Second, Third, Fourth child?? When is she due? My wife is pregnant as well, due date around July 7th. Been telling people I hope he/she arrives on the 4th so I can save some money on his/her first 4-5 birthdays. ;)

Stock up on the food and you should be a-ok.
Congrats!! My wife is due with her first July 2nd

Maybe none end up there. You may finish ahead of Eli on steals, but not ahead of many others. other than being weak in 2 cats, your team looks very good. Gotta like your outfield. starters are solid, especially first 3. Nice C's and I like your 2b guys. Both of them. You've got a shot at the money if you can survive 2 weak cats. 1 of which could turn out. I was just speculating. This isn't my team. I could see Zumaya closing in a hurry. As for Wood you will know by the time we draft, Dempster isn't the anwser.
Disagreeing with Shawn is not something I do often- but no guarantees on Zumaya or Wood. Howry or Rodney could screw that up quickly. In Howry's case I actually think he may be the better choice. Use Wood twice a week for 2-3 innings possibly. If Rodney closes over Zumaya in 07 it would be a move I disagree with but could certainly see happening.

You are one of the folks on here that I read pretty much everything you write because I usually learn something. With all due respect that draft was not your finest hour. From your wording I get a sense you thought so too.

I am quite sure you will produce a much better product in mid March.

I like the IF too, Iguchi & Barfield both are very solid players. Last year Barfield hit very poor at Petco.. I see both players .285, 20 hr's with some speed. Chavez & Blalock both with too HS in San Diego both LH and both had nagging shoulders last year, maybe just maybe both bounce back.

Spring training MUST be coming up soon. Damn, nobody wants their beauty sleep tonight, they just wanna talk baseball! :D I love it.

Tom and I have another industry draft tomorrow for the second baseball magazine. We'll provide some more results to talk about after that one is done and I'll add a few more rounds of this NFBC draft tomorrow.

I thought the team came out fine, it help playing ing the Shawn Childs league this year but I still made some mistakes..

I think I am going too sign up for a couple Satellite leagues, it really helps to get 3 or 4 drafts under your belt before the big day.
Thx Chest ... I did forget to add my 4th round pick - Jim Thome - I'd be really under-powered without him, so the offense is better than it first appeared. But honestly, I don't know how I feel about this team. Looking at Jim's team, its kinda the antitheses of mine - I've got a solid IF but a very questionable OF. My pitching staff is a real wildcard too. Could be very good, or a complete disaster. I doubt any other team I draft this year will look much like this one, but I'm not ready to concede yet.

Good teams all, but I gotta say I like Jim's (Kimo) team best. Starting rotation looks rock solid and the offense (even after absorbing a few substandard BA's) will be great. Catching a break with in-season management of the SB or SV situation could put this team over the top.

Time to throw another team up here

Drafted from the 12 hole

C - Johjima, Bard

1B - D. Lee

3B - M. Cabrera

CI - Adam LaRoche

2B - B. Roberts

SS - Renteria

MI - O. Hudson

OF - Huff, C. Young, Granderson, Blake, Kotsay

UT - T. Nixon

Reserves - Sledge, Erstad, H. Pence

SP - Kazmir, Matsuzaka, Capuano, Snell, Wolf, Pelfrey

RP - Nathan, Borowski, Wheeler

Reserves - McClung, Farnsworth, J. Sanchez, Hampton

I think this is a pretty good team, but certainly interested in comments or criticism.

I think this is a pretty good team, but certainly interested in comments or criticism. if you get 200ip each out of Kaz and matazaka then your team will go as far as your OF and util. can take you. If the net performance of your OF/UTIL gives you avg production vs the rest of the league you should challenge. If your OF/UTIL #'s fall to the bottom 3rd of your league then you will be middle of the pack.

I think this is a pretty good team, but certainly interested in comments or criticism. You certainly are not scared to pay a bit of a premium for guys you like- IE B Roberts, Matsuzaka, Chris Young. If that pays off for you fine- if not you may regret not being a bit more patient on those guys.

Overall it looks a lot like the offenses I try to build- good depth, good speed despite not having a guy who will steal 40.

You have 2 guys on my avoid list in Laroche and Capuano.

I think this is a pretty good team, but certainly interested in comments or criticism. Very nice infield and C's are good. Lots of closers with 1 in the bank guy. sp's lack some depth, short on sb's, and your outfield in general is suspect.

I think the biggest problem could loom with your pitching staff. If Wainwright and/or Papelbon close it'll make for a long year, especially with J Johnson on the shelf.
On my tombstone-
Wait! I never had the perfect draft!

I think this is a pretty good team, but certainly interested in comments or criticism. I like this team Captain. Most of your offense is made up of proven MLB players and, absent unpredictable injuries, you pretty much know what level they will produce at. Outfield is the biggest question mark (young Young, underachiever Huff, Blake, Kotsay below the middle of the pack).

Starters are made up primarily of good talent on underperforming teams (TB, MIL, PIT). This could hurt you in Wins, but everything else, including Saves should be ok (Borowski?).

Sorry, but I still like KIMO's team better. :D Of course, it is all air until the season starts.

BTW, what round did you get Pence?
