Team Herron put the picks with the rounds and this makes it much easier to understand.

Felipe Lopez in the 15th round, last year he went 3rd and 4th maybe he can bounce back .[he young enough] I liked the things Mclouth did late in the season, and Bettancourt in the 22nd was a big suprise.[his numbers say closer]

Just a few things i see with jesse's team.

I do believe Colby Rasmus was the first "tuck" pick at 19.13. MDC had Rasmus ranked higher so this probably prompted the earlier selection....although I would rather have Rasmus to start the season.

Nicely done. If Haren had been selected, I would've taken Shields that early...was happy to get him at the 7/8 turn.

I have no conficence in OF depth, but rather I kept missing on the players I wanted and I always love some good pitchers so......

The Marmol pick was a mistake, I will admit that.

About your team, it will probably compete, but I forsee just about every offensive player having a stint on the DL, with a few being extended.

i stand by my comments. your O is substandard. with outfielders like this, you better be good at the waiver wire.

OF Jack Cust - .250 or less

OF Jayson Werth - injury waiting to happen

OF Dave Roberts - injury waiting to happen & judy time

OF Jonny Gomes - .250 or less

OF Carlos Gomez - very little PT

Am I the only one who realizes Josh Fields is OF eligible?? Or how about Chase Headley moving to the OF??

I could care less if Gomes and Cust both hit 250...I wanted them for the HR's. I know Cust and to a lesser degree, Gomes, will hit for a low average, but BA is so volatile with many players so you never know.

Again, I guarantee my O is anything but substandard and it will be proven throughout next season.

[/QUOTE]1) Fields is not guaranteed enough AB to worry about his OF qualification. IMO if Crede is back and starting, Fields is on the bench (unless Quentin AND Owens AND Sweeney tank in spring training) You may have remembered his OF eligibility but forgotten about the trade which virtually takes him out of shot at starting in the OF

2) Headley to the OF is interesting to speculate on, but to my knowledge not something the Padres have considered (so far)and frankly I don't think he is as strong a hitting prospect as many others (but of course I have only seen him in 40+ games ;)

That said, I don't think your OF is as bad as GG does, but it does need to be fortified because it's obviously not as good as you think Patrick.

I will weigh in on Patrick's team. I like Patrick a lot but I think that team is pretty terrible. Of course I thought his team that won a league last year was terrible and he proved that wrong. So I kind of have a wait and see approach to it.

I think if he wins with it you have to label him an out of the box thinker who gets results. I think if he gets clobbered with it- it is a good example of what works in a satellite against the crazy like a fox's of the world does not exactly work against KJ Duke, Dan Kenyon, and the Matt Mickles of this contest.

I do think Patrick has excellent player evaluation skills, just maybe tries to "stand out" a bit too much with radical picks. IMO if he played it a tad bit more conservative at times he would not be a guy I would want at my table in March.

Either way I mean terrible in the most constructive way possible and wish you luck in the league this year.

One last thought if that team finishes 6-8 it would not shock me. The starting pitching and batting avg is too good. The key question for him in evaluating after next season IF it it does not do well- is did the team under any circumstance have a shot at winning?

My worst finish in any type league is 9th but my worst team finished 6th exactly for the same reasons I listed above. The core was good enough to get it to 6th but I had no scenario after draft day to win.

Give me your thoughts,

Thanks for a great draft !! A lot of players I like but 3 major questions:

1) Do you see anything but a one in batting avg with that infield leading the way? Even your studs are not great batting avg guys.

2) Where is the speed? Banking on Freel for anything is a risky proposition IMO.

3) Why draft 3 closers in the first 10 picks in any draft- much less one with this much time until opening day and one in which the guy drafting right next to you was punting saves making them cheaper.

You did snake Chad Cordero from me- b/c I said no way he drafts a 3rd and with Patrick punting, and Mickle using a top 2 pick on a pitcher. Cordero comes back right- negative you got me.

I think all in all I like a lot of your players on their own. It is how they come together as a core and how that reflects in points that concerns me.

In looking at the rosters, I'm interested in knowing which teams finished in the top three and bottom three based on mockdraftcentrals new draft scoring software...I'm curious as to what order of picks may work best/worst. Thx

which roster is Kevin D's? of the ones I have read on this post, Team Herron seems to be the best. Is there a way I can read the projected standings? If not can someone from the draft post it here? That would be appreciated.
