Not that I care, because as most know, my NFBC life is an open-book (albeit a tragedy) but others might and I thought the agreement was no player names would be directly attributed to their owner.

I know I was idenified early by someone in the league, but I didn't know how a few of the other owners were idenified. Eddie and Kimo were the only two I saw who talked about their drafts.

Crazy, I think your new draft is too early now! I really think mine will have to be that 26th or 27th date, but I'll wait. If we were in the same league, we'd have to fight it out over that one pitcher (you know the guy) to the point that we'd be losing tons of value. In an auction together we might have that dude up to $38!

Both of us might look silly if we drop down 5 rounds just to beat each other to the punch on a couple different players.

How about the March 26th satellite? I think if you joined that one, Chest would be more motivated to follow. It should be a lot of fun.

I think some folks here have a short memory and don't remember the drafts they participated in this past Monday.
I thought you said that a draft this early is worthless, and has no value to the winners due to being drafted so early in the year?

You made it very clear last year that you gave a draft this early NO CREDABILITY nor respect.

If a draft is just an early "feeler"...and gets no respect...why the hush hush?

"The thing I really like about Shawn and Dan Kenyon is they really will try to help you if you ask a question. I also like that they will not blow smoke up your azz if they think you screwed the pooch they will tell you.

Less than Dave just an observation I have seen you in a minor debate with both in the last 24 hours. When those 2 talk my cocky azz just shuts up and listens.. you will learn something every time."

Chest I couldn't agree more! I sent a PM to Shawn with a question about the site they are working on. Having never had the chance to truly meet him he sent me a message back with his cell to call him and 20 minutes later he had talked shop with me like we had known each other for years. Class act and very very knowledgeable player who isn't afraid to share his thoughts with others!
Lance,

My statement was: it wasn't important to me to win. It is a draft where I don't put my name on any players who I really might like in March. I'm not talking about the early part of the draft. Any pitcher who I might have my eye on or a young player going in the 15th round, I wouldn't ever draft him here. I try to draft a competitive team, but it is only a stepping stone to the big dance.

I don't think I said anywhere that it had no

credability or respect. I think your reference is to the battle in the NFFC boards about a $100 being worth the same as a higher stake league.

The draft isn't hush hush. The names of the players and the draft spots were. All the players knew I was doing a write up about it. Todd or Perry was also doing a recap for their web site.

I sent every player in the league a copy of the draft in excel with all the players idenfied by color of position in their draft slot. I sent them my reveiw of the draft. At some point it should be available to view by all.

I was surprised by some of the name dropping on the board about the draft. I don't care about mine as I stated my position earlier. But I do wonder how the draft slots and names were circulated.

My bad.

I'd love to see a breakdown of that draft. Will you do a writeup on Baseball Mafia?

It's the only "mock" draft I'd like to glance at prior to the big draft.
To me, definitely not the best (take a bow, Mr. Utley), but almost certainly the 2nd best -- only Upton can prevent that from happening.
I'm sure you're referring to Ian Kinsler and Rickie Weeks. Health permitting, these guys could break out in a huge way.

One of these years, somebody is going to win their league because of Weeks. Can the real Rickie Weeks please stand up? Has always had tons of potential and I think his September is a sign of things to come. This could be a small breakout although he looks to be a late bloomer, maybe 2009 will be the "true" breakout. I think Kinsler in 2008 is much safer but Weeks has a much higher ceiling if he can ever be consistent.

Stupid side note...

Do you think if Cashman scratched his butt and whispered "Santana" while drinking his morning coffee...that they'd report it on Rotoworld???

Talk about overkill.

Either you have a story, or you don't.
