2009 NFBC Online Championship Signup List

Tom/Greg - Do you plan on starting to close some of the dates and times in order to get people to start signing up for some of the smaller sign-up dates? If not, is there a reasonable limit to the number of teams that can draft at any given time? I see some dates/times with as few as 13-17 names while others are heading toward 40+. Just curious. I know these should all fall to multiples of 12 when the dust settles.

Pete
OK - So I'm not as good as I thought I was; but at least I am consistent.

Pete Yeah, I just made a post last night that we'll start closing some of these leagues off at increments of 12 pretty soon so that we can pull draft picks before we leave for the live events. We'll do that for the March 28, 29, 30 online leagues and then cap off the others as we fill up.

We can handle more leagues on April 2, 3 and 4 because we don't have a lot of satellite leagues those nights and we are going to staff up if demand warrants, but at some point we'll just close these all off and make sure every league on every date has perfect, 12-team leagues. If some finish short of 12, we'll obviously call each owner and see if another date works. But we'd rather close them off early than have to do that.

Stay tuned. This is going better than we ever imagined.

We now have 390 signups for the NFBC Online Championship, which means we'll finish with 30+ leagues and at least a $25,000 grand prize. Thanks all and let's fill up some of these early leagues soon and pick the draft spots by the middle of next week. Awesome.

20. Manny Ramirez, Washington Heights, New York

Anyone think Joe Torre actually gave Manny the day off on April 3rd?

Can we use real names?

Today we topped 400 signups for the debut NFBC Online Championship, so we are already headed towards 33 leagues and possibly more. The grand prize has already been raised to $26,000 and will continue to rise with each new signup. Here's the breakdown of where the additional prize money is going once we got past 300 teams:

League prizes will remain $1,300 for first place and $650 for second place. Since each league brings in $4,200, 80% of that is $3,360. Since $1,950 goes to league prizes, that leaves us with $1,410 for the overall prize pool. The prize breakdown will be as follows for each additional league past 300 teams:

League prizes = $1,950

Overall grand prize = $810

Combined Standings = $200 (for main event and online)

Overall 2nd through ? prizes = $400

Thanks all and we'll have to stop the signups for some of these leagues soon to reach perfect increments of 12 teams. Good luck to everyone in this debut contest.

Hey Greg,

I noticed that you have 41 people signed up for the Saturday, March 28th 1.p.m. draft along with 30 people in the Sunday, March 29th, 1 p.m. draft.

I am already signed up for the league on March 28th, but you could change me to the other one if you get closer to closing one of them out.

Just trying to be of some help, so you can close one more league out and maybe getting us closer to getting our draft spots. Maybe some other people can change also if their schedules are available for either day.
