Mahalo Charlie...got it today in mid-draft

No mag in MN. Hope I get it by Christmas as promised because I could've bought it a week ago at the bookstore in town.

Probably stick to the bookstore for future mags unless we get an NFBC discount.

Talked to my wife yesterday, and she said a package came from Charlie Wiegart (Thank you Charlie!)

So...... the magazine DID come before x-mas!! :D

I thought a lot more about things, and Kevin Schiller's post about "bigger fish to fry" was pretty much spot on.

I want to publicly apologize to Ryan for getting on him about things. I know he (along with Greg, Tom, and the rest of Fanball) is trying VERY hard to make things as good as they possibly can be for the NFBC/NFFC.

I leafed through it at Barnes and Noble the other day, and it looks very nice (a lot of props to the PLAYERS, which is very new in the magazine world!) I look forward to looking at it more thoroughly when I get home today.

Maybe it was the stress of the holidays getting to me, but in the end, Fanball(NFBC) delivered as they always do. Greg said they would take care of orders personally next time, and I have ZERO doubt that will be the case.

Again, my apologies to Ryan, as getting publicly pissed about an $8.00 magazine not arriving is just plain silly on my part.

Happy holidays to all! :D

Good post Billy and I'm positive Ryan accepts your apology. I don't think some of the personal attacks were justified or fair and I said that. He definitely didn't appreciate it. Thankfully, he's still trudging along and doing all he can to make this year's events/contests the best they've ever been. And I KNOW they will be.

We admitted our faults in this process of delivering the magazines. Glad you did the same. Thanks man and best of luck this final weekend of football season and then join us for some baseball fun again this year. Merry Christmas.

Great job Billy

This sounds more like the guy i met in Chicago.

Good luck the rest of the year in football and your excursion into the NFBC.

Happy Holidays and look forward to seeing you again.

I'm not the type to complain in such a "friendly" environment as this, but as a consumer I must speak of my disappointment in not receiving the magazine after a great deal of fanfair and promotion. NFBC has been a great means of enjoyment. NFBC.Fanball has stumbled.

Scott Martin If anyone ordered the magazine from us early with the promise that you would get it before Christmas, post your name here and I promise we will make it up to you. Scott, let me know the day you get the magazine and we'll follow through to make up for not getting this one there on time. Sound good?

Nobody is hurting our feelings by telling us we failed to deliver the "Stocking Stuffer Special Issue" after Christmas. Post your name here, we'll look up when it was sent and if we failed we'll make up for it. I promise. Thanks and sorry.

You can count me among the 'lump of coal brigade' Greg. Although, I did spend 20 minutes this afternoon standing between the yams and acorn squash reading it in my local Safeway. The good news is that I give you all a cyber high five on the format and content. If somehow you can cancel my order providing it hasn't been sent yet, Safeway doesn't close for another 45 minutes and you can still fill my stocking.

Greg,

I'm not surprised by your quick response nor the positive approach to the issue. You do business the way it should be done: With a conscience. By the way, I still need to know how I am to book my Flamingo room after registering for the 3-pack. Wishing a very Merry Christmas to all and hope you are able to spend it with family. (and that you aren't snowed in for too long, Greg!)

Scott Martin The list already includes:

Scott Martin

Bob Mazur

Bryan Vogel

Scott Nordby

Richard Kulaski

Richard

Chris Latka

John Crane

Glenn Schroter

Stephen Jupinka

Kyle Baldwin

Chris Throop

Kevin Kirves

We'll do well on these orders, I promise.

I'll call you Scott about the Flamingo rooms. I just need to know if you're staying beyond two days. If so, then it's best for our NFBC members to book their rooms and we'll reimburse you for two nights. If you're just staying two days we'll book them. The Flamingo said that's the easiest way to do this. Sound good?

Mostly rain today, fortunately. I think we're going to get off easy on Storm Benjamin. Merry Christmas everyone. Gotta finish watching "Elf" with the kids!! ;)
Greg,

I kept the faith today but didn't receive my magazine either. I'm assuming that I'm the "Richard" you're talking about in the above post. Thanks as always for handling minor or major issues so well. Merry Christmas,

i got the mag yesterday at a local store. like the glossy pages but i must second someone else who said the type (font) is tiny! i mean i got no interest in seeing what garret mock looks like. could have saved some space there.

also i really miss the NFBC style write ups we used to get. they were chock full of stats, usually with 1st and 2nd half splits. the write ups in this edtion are far more opinion based.

i also enjoyed the "one man's opnions" from past fanball editions and this seems to have less of that. but maybe im confused on that part.

but hey.. beggars cant be choosers. im pumped that i got some stats to look at. thanks for getting it out there!
The poster was great, but whomever chose that picture of Chipper ought to be shot. I realize he will never be an icon of sartorial grace and splendor, but that picture makes him look like a slack-jawed yokels ugly second cousin and could be used as a promo for a remake of "Texas Chainsaw Massacre"!
Baseball is a slow, boring, complex, cerebral game that doesn't lend itself to histrionics. You 'take in' a baseball game, something odd to say about a football or basketball game, with the clock running and the bodies flying.
