Papelbon will have a pretty short rope.

I think Bailey may have been hiding a worse injury. I'm watching him closely during spring training

A real question for you, Shawn...

Why, in some drafts does a run get so severe as to covet a Marcum in the seventh round...

While in other drafts, the run is shorter lived and a Marcum is taken in the 11th round? Because some owners can't trust their instincts and wait when the inventory drops off. They need to take their edge at another position.

In some cases, owners believe Marcum will be that much better in the NL.

A team that waits on Marcum has a better chance of success, but it doesn't mean he won't deliver 7th round value.
[/QUOTE]I think the question is if you covet Marcum in the 8th and there is a run on pitching does it really matter that you take him in the 7th?

11th Rd = You don't really want him.

Shawn - Were you part of that case study that believes Marcum will fair much better in the NL compared to AL East?

I'm not sure the question is how many closers have a "secure" job... The list is getting shorter each year. All the stud pencil-in closer jobs are deminishing.

What's better-

Nunez and Rodney

No closers with faab

No closers without faab

Hint: No closers without faab finishes second
